With a career in reporting that spanned five decades, viewers hailed Cronkite as 'the most trusted man in America.' He visited the campus to present the 2005 USC Annenberg Walter Cronkite Awards for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.

Cronkite flew on the first bombing raids over Germany in a B-17 and Landed with the 101st Airborne Division at Normandy .
