The new Materials Management Center (MMC) with its three warehouse systems, tugger trains loaded according to withdrawal sequence and an intelligent Warehouse Management System (WMS) is responsible for the needs-oriented and timely supply of production.
psb's scope of supply includes the automated small parts warehouse and the highbay warehouse, each equipped with AS/RS cranes as well as the manual warehouse for large load carriers (GLT), the pallet and container conveyor technology, the multi-order picking workstations, the psb warehouse management system selektron with selektron SCADA for visualization and the control system for controlling the forklifts and tugger trains.
The five-aisle highbay warehouse, operated by five pallet stacker cranes, offers 8,700 storage positions for 1,200 x 800 mm Euro pallets and pallet cages. At the same time, a large number of half pallets are stored double-deep in the automated pallet warehouse.
The four-aisle automated small parts warehouse, operated by AS/RS cranes, offers 46,000 storage positions for containers and trays, which can be stored double-deep. At the four associated order picking workstations, parts for up to five orders can be removed simultaneously by multi-order picking.
A total of ten tugger trains with transport trolleys are operated in the supply train concept to provide all areas of production and assembly. The forklift control system also functions as a control system for the route trains and is integrated into the warehouse management system. With a comprehensive tracking system, it is exactly logged in the system who transports which material when where and who receives it.
