There's a much easier way to use the centering feature without the maths: you just need to get things placed so that the measurement at each side is the same. You don't need to know the number in advance.
This is how I do it.

I have the same or very similar T square ruler from Amazon & I agree, it’s not what I had hoped for - wish I had watched this video last night though because I almost bought the Misti T-square rulers today! I hesitated because I didn’t know enough, but I will definitely get a set soon (I’m in Canada, so will buy from our local independent scrapbooking store, sorry Wendy). On the plus side I did get the Precision Glue Press today. Have you tried the Misti Creative Corners? I was considering them, too, but didn’t get yet as I mainly wanted to get the glue press. Your card is absolutely gorgeous!! I do love birds & am comfortable around them, sorry this isn’t comfortable for you but so glad you can enjoy watching them from a distance. My favourite bird is Black-capped chickadee, they are so adorable & I love their songs.
Really enjoyed your video. I have often wondered why stamp companies don’t just extend the stamp a bit with a straight edge at the bottom to make them line up perfectly every time. The bottom of every stamp would have a straight edge…line that up with your ruler and it would be straight every time. Does that make sense 😳

That gap on the one from Amazon (I actually got mine from Michaels in the art department years ago) is very frustrating, for sure. I do have a ruler that helps me center things and I love that! Great video - I need to order those rulers (and the glue press - I got so mad at my glue tube last night I wanted to throw it across the room!). You must be thrilled to be a part of such an innovative group as My Sweet Petunia!

It's about time someone made a T ruler for card makers. I'm not a fan of having the metric and imperial in the same pack. Option to buy sure. I wish they put holes to make marks or pull it down the side and draw a line. On black paper or very dark you won't be able to see the measurements.
I think that's why they have the black and clear. So if you're using black you can still see the clear spots.
