  • Thanks for joining us on our Journey! We spent a good amount of time watching and learning from RUclips University on how to remove this transmission. After retrieving the transmission from the Pick Your Part we can now install it to get our family's van up and running!

I love this family and the dedication of this father to work for the family's well being. Good job, man.

The scary part about getting a salvage yard transmission is the potential that you are installing yet another broken transmission then to have to do it all over again.

Been there done that. How much did the trans cost and what kind of warranty did they give you and what was the mileage on the vehicle you got the trans from. So far so good. Good luck on the install and hopefully you have it back in and just haven't posted it yet. Happy Motoring.

Cost of new trans was 400 after tax, only 90 day warranty unfortunately. Mileage on the Dodge Journey we pulled it from was 160k. We'll have an update on Monday for everyone. Thanks for the kind words!

@@theunskoolies All the transmissions that I have replaced I pulled out of running cars that I purchased for parts. My only experience with a junkyard transmission was not good. We replaced a trans for my uncle that he got from the junkyard and it didn't work. He brought it back and they would not refund his money. I know lots of shops that have put used trans and engines into cars but they do business with the shops all the time and the junkyards want their return business but seeing is believing. Happy Motoring.
