Much respect to Chimaev. Born during the first Chechen war, living through those circumstances for 18 years then fleeing to Sweden in search for a better life. Training on high altitude level while outperforming light heavyweight sparring partners even dominating them. Definitely reminds me of Khabib: incorporating elite wrestling and old school calisthenics in order to achieve an insane amount of endurance/stamina. I misjudged him but he is definitely a fighter who also appreciates good sportsmanship which I saw after the Jingliang fight. In control of his emotions, able to switch that "fighter's mode" on and off which we could see after the winner was announced during that fight. Can't wait to see if the hype is real.

Much respect to Chimaev. Born during the first Chechen war, living through those circumstances for 18 years then fleeing to Sweden in search for a better life. Training on high altitude level while outperforming light heavyweight sparring partners even dominating them. Definitely reminds me of Khabib: incorporating elite wrestling and old school calisthenics in order to achieve an insane amount of endurance/stamina. I misjudged him but he is definitely a fighter who also appreciates good sportsmanship which I saw after the Jingliang fight. In control of his emotions, able to switch that "fighter's mode" on and off which we could see after the winner was announced during that fight. Can't wait to see if the hype is real.
