First time hearing this song, love it. …How do you not get dinged from RUclips for copyright?
Hi Lysa - I'm Russ and I told Jewelz I would respond to this since I post the videos. And it is a great question because it was always my concern as well in the beginning.
Once I upload the video, the algorithms used by RUclips start processing everything, and as part of that procedure, RUclips runs a copyright check. Before it posts, it comes back to me with a completed check and usually a short summary. Generally, we are told one of two things. Either it will show some copyright/s but tell us that the terms of the copyright will not impair this from being played (I'm summarizing and not speaking verbatim) or it will come back with certain restrictions that will tell us that the video is not allowed in certain countries. That has happened well less than a dozen times and the countries refusing are usually not accepting of most outside beliefs. We have never (and pray with us that we never) have a copyright infringement that did not let us publish the song. But remember - we are not changing the song or its' message, our biggest goal is to make it accessible for those who are hard of hearing or deaf and those who wish to view and learn from them. And especially...people like you because we absolutely cherish those who suggest songs, provide input, and ask questions!
@musicforthehands9684 thank you for this detailed response!
