I love the way she did different things that were totally unique. It is so beautiful. So many interesting choices. Oh that backbend! Her channel describes what injuries she went through with her back. What a beautiful performance. Bravo.
This is my favorite of what I have seen so far from McGuire Mayes. Normally a variation for a more experienced/mature dancer but it really shows her abilities off really well.

I feel like if she was Russian she would have for sure gotten into the Mariinsky... but such is life. I'm glad she learned from the best & is now doing great things!
She did I believe. I think she left because of an injury and then some personal stuff that she has not spoken about. But from what I read she did get into the Mariinsky, but didn't dance for too long for them. Online it says she graduated from vaganova in 2012 and then joined the Mariinsky ballet company in 2012

@@primalcrittersnot Mariinsky, Mikhailovsky. She was “blacklisted” from Mariinsky because of her injury during her graduation year.
