I think you might even sell more half dome than full dome kits, if you make a adaptor plate foam panel meant to attach to a flat wall of a square building. Also, its best if you can provide the price upfront on your youtube presentations so theres no wondering about costs, it would be way more transparent than asking them to email for price which they may or may not want to do, but if you told em price upfront, they would definitely email you and order units knowing if they could afford such a venture or not. This might be for a very short term disaster housing or housing for un-housed of other causes. Fixing all the deficiencies of this system would be very costly and not durable.

Well if ya slammed some basalt mesh on it, shot shotcrete onto it, then basalt rebar all around it (drill holes in the pad for the bars to sink into), and then shotcrete more layers, with basalt mesh, you would have a sold and insulated dome.....go inside and lime plaster the walls and its done.
I always wondered why you can't inflate a dome-shaped vinyl tent, spray it with a foot of foam, then spray it with shotcrete. When the vinyl dome is removed from the inside, the walls would be smooth.
no, you do not need rebar. Rebar will only hurt it. all you need is fiberglass mesh and latex cement or acrylic polymer cement. Definitely not shot crete.
They should build it backwards make the middle first then the top you wouldn’t need the scaffolding! Then build the base and then lift the top up and set it on the base! This should have take 20 minutes!

In 2001, my wife and I built a 21-foot diameter Pacific Yurts Kit Yurt. in about 2 weeks to get it closed to the weather. We spent a couple of days with a surveyor's theodolite to position and level the concrete bases (8 holes about 24" deep, and 18" across) with 8"x8" upright supports for the platform. The platform was sections of 3/4" plywood sandwiching 6 inches of Styrofoam insulation!!! The single operation that took the most time was cutting a series of kerfs into the 2"x8" boards that formed the circular edge of the platform. The kerf cuts allowed the heavy boards to be curved... took a few hours. Last I checked, that Yurt had outlasted my marriage by 15 Years!!!. It was undisturbed by 80 mph wind gusts one weekend, even without guy wires. Hey, I don't get any kickbacks from the manufacturer! I just really liked that Yurt. I would live in one of those again, in a heartbeat.

I can remember a few years ago, we had a drywall shortage and were left with no choice but to by Chinese made drywall. 6 months after instal, we had to replace every piece of crappy made in China drywall sheet. This stuff is made from styrofoam from who knows where. This fome can be very toxic if it isn't done properly.
Lots better than US crap.It's non-toxic and won't burn. It's polystyrene, not styrofoam. By the way, it's greedy foreigners who told Chinese manufacturers to cut costs. Chinese won't buy these products. Learn some basic facts instead of China bashing.

Something tells me that if OSHA were present, this 2 hour build would turn into 2 days, with more 'inspectors' looking on, than it takes to put the dome together.
Gee, since it is Chinese maybe the workers are dispensable? No helmet working at height, unrestrained and unlocked wheels on mobile scaffold Easy to install fall protection rigging from overhead of building, but then, they are only workers, right! Cheaper to get a new chump than be safe. Go work for them if you want to feel you are "efficient".
Interesting but I have seen better styrofoam dome designs. The shape is not strictly a half sphere. OK for storage but habitation would cause moisture problems. The video could have been shortened to ten minutes and still have been as informative and the music became quite irritating after ten minutes. The structure could be submerged about 3 feet underground to anchor and stabilise it.

🤔 i see major errors already. 1. Too many connecting parts to glue. 2. No solid base or brace. 3. No solid center pole for stability. Summary: cracks from gluing/fitting all parts and distortion from wind around and top. This will end in buyer putting wiremesh and pouring cement around the structure.

shotcrete goes on the inside, so the foam can insulate it.

A geodesic dome is a collection of triangular flat panels. This dome is all curves. It is not geodesic.

Love the concept but this is worst design I've seen. It barely holds together for the build. Forget a hurricane with horizontal rain.

Something tells me that if OSHA were present, this 2 hour build would turn into 2 days, with more 'inspectors' looking on, than it takes to put the dome together.
Gee, since it is Chinese maybe the workers are dispensable? No helmet working at height, unrestrained and unlocked wheels on mobile scaffold Easy to install fall protection rigging from overhead of building, but then, they are only workers, right! Cheaper to get a new chump than be safe. Go work for them if you want to feel you are "efficient".
Interesting but I have seen better styrofoam dome designs. The shape is not strictly a half sphere.
OK for storage but habitation would cause moisture problems.
The video could have been shortened to ten minutes and still have been as informative and the music became quite irritating after ten minutes.
The structure could be submerged about 3 feet underground to anchor and stabilise it.

For easy assembly make a balloon-like air form and inflate it and allow all Styrofoam puzzle pieces to rest on it. This way it will be very easy to assemble the dome house very quickly. Like this one ruclips.net/video/SYNNIiovsRc/видео.html

🤔 i see major errors already. 1. Too many connecting parts to glue. 2. No solid base or brace. 3. No solid center pole for stability.
Summary: cracks from gluing/fitting all parts and distortion from wind around and top. This will end in buyer putting wiremesh and pouring cement around the structure.

Great, a Styrofoam house. Instead to create something sustainable, to work for the planet and for the nature you produce more chemical shit, more hazardous waste. And this in a time where everybody should know better about environment pollution. I would be more impressed, if something like this would be made out of wood or coconut fiber or similar.
Meanwhile in your country they live in clapboard houses. So much for saving the environment.
