@shaquilleruss1668 Naw bro, the ram is soldered on to the motherboard. The only way to do it is to have a tech soldier in a new larger memory ram. But it has never been done so far and I don't know if it would mess with the firmware. Also there are many motherboards that can only do a certain size ram no matter how large it is, it will only read what the motherboard can handle. I think that's the case due to the fact that it's soldered in. So if it's a 2 gig max motherboard, even if you solder in a 1 TB chip, the board will only read 2 gigs because that's all it's made to handle. A soldered in ram is a hint that the motherboard cannot handle more than 2 gigs and will stay that way no matter what size ram you may wanna solder in.
Maybe in the next generation of Akai MPCs, Akai may switch away from the Rockchip RK3288 quad-core to using the Rockchip RK3588 octa-core CPU instead, being that is a 64-bit architecture we could at least have 32GiB easily. Plus, more horsepower to support better effects, more polyphony, plugins and features, simultaneously.
Stems doesn't work the way you think. Stems has been invented decades ago. Its basically the father of karaoke. The only enemy of karaoke and stems is when the sampled song is a song that's heavily processed with choruses or other similar processors. That's why newer songs bleed. Stems works perfect with older songs that's not heavily processed like today's music. It has NOTHING to do with the MPC in standalone vs controller mode. Its the type of song you initial sample which is the issue. Sample a soul track from the 60's or 70's and you will see stems works blindblowingly perfect. But go ahead and sample some kinda newer song with all types of processors in it or autotune and you will see that the stem will bleed into other portions of the stem. Just a FYI. I was doing this years ago, it was a little secret of mine. I used to run samples through Cubase's Karaoke plugin and then sample in my MPC 2000. People was always asking me how i took the vocals out of my sample. They were scratching their heads for years how i was doing it. Now 20 years later now they know. 😂
A lot of people are about to use some muddy reverb filled records and complain the quality of the stems are trash … it’s not the stems fam it’s the record
Definitely depends on the sample you’re working with! I’ve tried multiple samples today and some came out great while others were good enough to decent. But even the ones that didn’t stem out to great I can work with especially with some effects
I've noticed that any sample that's buried in reverb is difficult for Stem Separation, and rightfully so. However, Akai has done a great job with such difficult samples. Nice video. Stay Blessed 🙌
I think its dope that they came out with this. Especially for stand alone units. I have found websites that can seperate stems but if you arent near a computer, or dont want to have to save the file, run it through the website, then resample, etc. its perfect. It definitely would come in handy Rocking an MPC Live on battery power in the middle of nowhere... Like I do..... Sometimes..... A lot..... 😂
Bolo. The splice samples are way too clean for this to be the ultimate test. Now pick out a vinyl record with multiple part s. Chop a section and show us how that works. 🙏🏼
@@BoloDaProducer Ahh . Gotchu. If you try vinyl on your own pls let us know how the stem sounds. I use Neuralmix 2.0 which is pretty good & RX11 has stem sep. Thx 🤟🏼 @BoloDaProducer
I bet if you had a clean sample with clearly defined musical parts, the stem separation would've been a lot better, next time try with a clean sample with better separation and definition of parts. The vocals came out pretty clean and the melody guitar and keys were pretty clean also. Samples with a lot of reverberation usually don't work very well, no matter what program you use for stem separation, and also the stereo image is very important when it comes to stem separation the more the define the stereo image the better the separation no matter what separation program you use.
I'm more or a fl user but I just purchased the mpc one+.. I definitely will be downloading the stem separation for the mpc as soon as I home..thx for the update bolo..💪🏾
i can live with making stems on the mac. I would rather love to see the BLEASS Arpeggiator for the MPC or something as good. And more Midi Mangling tools which let you make variations of midi files. What also would be nice is the groove extractor from ableton. So i could throw in audio of some famous drummer for example, they get analyzed and i can then use that groove for my beats. Oh: and i would LOVE to see the STOLPERBEATS J DILLA Eurorack Module ported to the MPC ! (and btw stems for the mac is really good. As is Delay Pro and Flavor Pro!)
I'm first a NI/Komplete user. Serrato in NI and stem separation with Akai software and MPC One. I might forget to eat cause I use them both along with instruments. Someone give me a call and remind me to eat and sleep. Thanks in advance.
Having the stems in standalone is cool. I'm glad it is finally available. However, why is it so freaking hard to find a new MPC Key 37 in stock at my local Guitar Center? In ATL? Or Fayetteville? I want to get one, but I also want to trade in some stuff, including my MPC One, to make it easier on the wallet. That thing has been out for what, 5 months now? And it is still not in stock? You have to have them order one from either another store location or their warehouse. This is CRAZY!!!! Oh, and the worst part is, Guitar Center have used MPC Key 37 units that cost as much or more than a new one in some other store locations!!! That's wild!!! Did Akai stop production of these for some reason? Or are they just selling so fast that Akai can't produce enough of them to keep up with demand? I'll worry about stems once I get my MPC Key 37! I don't want to order one of these online and have to deal with shipping (porch pirates do exist!) when I should be able to just walk into a store and buy one locally. Then again, maybe I should just wait. I'm not saying this is gonna happen, but I would not be surprised if Akai discontinue this version re-release the MPC Key 37 as an mkII model in an all-black or all-beige color scheme with 4 GB of RAM with all the plugins of the MPC Key 61 as standard and bump the price up to $1299.
Now I have to decide which of my MPCs to install it on because you can buy plug-ins and multiple pieces of hardware from Akai, but you are limited to installing your plugins on gear that you've paid for. This is how Akai takes care of their loyalist. I'm done spending money on Akai gear until they fix this
Speaking of the MPC software how do y’all like using it for those who use it? I’ve never used it since I bought my X last year. I have Studio One but I been thinking about using the MPC software and see what’s up. I like using audio tracks and I know the software allows me to use way more than 8 if the need arises.
i only like it because you can use the keyboard and mouse, i hate typing on mpc for files etc . i can use mouse to grab a whole section and shift over real fast . q links and +- do everything the knob can do
