      Hello.
When Dr. Phil said that all you need to do is to relax, does he mean have a designated time and place to practice relaxation like being home alone, or does he mean to learn to stay relaxed in stressful situations like being around your toxic family?

My wife asked what I was watching, and I said it was about how to organise the garage to go discipline myself in it. She just giggled. She called out ten minutes later after watching the first part herself, saying she would slip into something more uncomfortable to come out and help.
One of my rules is to never place trust in someone who seeks to undermine your trust in yourself. While it stands to reason, it's important because the world is full of people who think being related to someone gives them a free pass, and a sweeping set of entitlements.

Thank you Dr Phil. I first saw you on Oprah’s show, then read your book “Life Matters”. It was at a difficult time in my life after I’d been in a motor vehicle accident & had sustained a serious spinal fracture. I had been told that I would never work again. I became depressed. I was solely responsible for my three sons whose father had abandoned them physically, financially & emotionally. I was in a relationship with a narcissist who took advantage of my vulnerability. Your book saved me!!! Over a period of years I got myself out of the hole I was in; recovered from the injury enough to return to Nursing (a “no lift” policy had come into force in Australian hospitals) & regained financial independence. My GP was astounded. She wanted to know how I had done it. And I told her about your book & your TV programs. She said that I was one of a few to get back in to work after such circumstances. I inspired my GP & I was very proud of myself. As scary as it was to start over, I had all of your inspirations to reflect upon to give me courage. Thank you! Thank you a million times over Dr Phil. xx

I love Phil in the Blanks so much, it is really helping get through dealing with my ex who I do believe based of the baiter and what else I have listened to is a sociopath, I dealt with narcissist before and thats bad enough, but this what I am experiencing now is a little bit extra than that, like nothing I have ever seen and my therapist confirmed it, he is a dangerous person and he good looking, charming and charismatic when you first meet him, but seeks to destroy your life once he has got you.. In the past 10 months I ended a very toxic friendship with a woman who is borderline personality disorder and set boundaries with an older cousin who is a covert narcissist. That relationship ended when she exploded at my attempt to set my boundaries. I pray both of those women get the help they need and I wish them well, but I could no longer allow them to drag me down. Dr Phil, thank you so much for this series. I’m going to tell my daughters about it as I believe it will help them too. ❤️

To illustrate what Dr. Phil is saying toward the end about passion...: Once a long time ago, we had bought a small piece of land. I would wake up while it was still dark and stare at the window in eager anticipation for the first light of day (like a little kid waiting for Santa on Christmas), so I could get outside and take care of our little hobby farm. Nobody in my family understood my passion... Years later I had the same kind of passion for a business I wanted to start and I couldn't wait for daybreak and I'd run downstairs to start working arranging flowers. I'd have to FORCE myself to take breaks. *Anyway, passions are wonderful!

Thank you Dr Phill! Your words…..your messages … are profound! I need this video constantly looping through out my day. I’ve been like this for 51 years and it’s going to take a lot time and effort to truly change my way of thinking.🥺. BUT… that’s what I have to do,if I want to change!
Btw this was one of my favorite videos! I downloaded it for easy access and as a reminder of what I need to do. Again, thank you 🙏 for sharing and caring! YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

How do you stop needing people who don't need you? My son in law is a malignant covert narcissist that has systematically turned our daughter against every member of our family through his lies and manipulation and has her isolated from all of us. Do we just walk away and pretend we never had a daughter? How can we help her? His lies already cost her her first child and now she is expecting another. Just keep letting him get away with it? Dr Phil, please address how the parents of children who are caught in one of these dangerous relationships. Its heartbreaking and I can't find anything about this. I know we are not the only parents in this situation. Please help.

Stop needing people that don't need you. I have three daughters late 20s and 30s, unmarried, no children. They no longer need me my oldest daughter and I barely speak. I need them, all my thoughts are for them. I can't stop needing them, I shouldn't have too, right?

Let your relationships with them be the cherry on top of your life! Follow your passions and have your own life. They do still need their mother, just in different ways- and that’s okay. You obviously adore your daughters and you spent many years in a care taker role as their mother - it’s hard to adjust to life changing- so give yourself a break and some time for things to fall into place and adjust.

If I woke up tomorrow with $100 million, I'll be very far away from drama & toxic people. I would erase my association with toxic people. If I were a king, I would order the toxic people to leave and be as far as possible from me. Anything that has nothing to do with toxic people would be good enough for me.

That’s a great start. I quit in 2021. You can do it. First couple weeks the worst- it gets easier. Just gotta hang on. My bf did it with Chantix and will power last year as well. A good while before me. I did when I was ready, I guess. I honestly still can’t believe I finally did it. I pretty much was vaping and smoking regular cigarettes. I miss it but there are many things about it I don’t miss at all and those are outweighing my fleeting cravings (happening very seldom now- almost never). Anyway- good luck. You’ll get it when you’re ready and you really can do it!!!!

Yes, no TV! I didn’t watch TV for many years and only took courses and learned to make myself a better version of myself and how to manage my time etc…It is a process and there are relapse times until there aren’t anymore. That’s a great way to stop a bad habit! Yes, you give your power away and you are in bad news! Take your power back! Yes, a bully hurt them and they allowed them to continue to have power over them and their body image for life until some end up passing away! This is such a shame and I work in radiology and I see so much death and those who survive and don’t give your power away! Yes, you are my new hero Dr. Phil! This is exactly what I’ve been saying to others in my area and on line to try to help others understand how to heal and move forward to live a better life. A happy life, to love life again, before they stopped loving it! 😁❤️ I’ve been watching certain shows lately that most are watching so I can try to help them relate to a certain situation that might apply to them that they can see the negative behavior or positive behavior as well as with music. A bully is sharing with you how they really feel about themselves which is very negative, so that is key to teaching children so they can immediately walk away with no harm!

I am blown away by this series which I recently came across while listening to other videos on Narcissism.
I used to watch Dr. Phil’s show for entertainment as few of the subjects resonated personally with me. They seemed too extreme usually.
But this series SPEAKS directly to me as one who has endured many decades of relationships with toxic family members and friends …many of whom I felt obliged to remain close to.
And now with grown daughters who are reeling with the same as they find out who they are and what they want their lives to look like.
Presently, my own 43 year old daughter is in the process of ending her marriage to a toxic narcissist, a man we all came to love and treat as a son , while being fooled by his quick, glib , controlling ways.
Suddenly, the truth is staring us all in the face. We all feel betrayed. We all feel duped. But now , listening to this series with REAL solutions, is so mind-freeing and pivotal to moving ahead without only sadness or anger filling us up.
Thank you SO MUCH Dr. Phil. I think this is truly the best work you have done and most certainly the BEST advice and explanation I have EVER HEARD (having had numerous counsellors, groups over the decades) on the subject of toxic people and relationships.
I shall share this as widely as possible and I shall re-listen to each part as daily therapy.
Thankfully, my daughter has latched onto the gravity of your wisdom also.
    All the best.
