Author of book here. Thanks for the review Giles! Happy to answer any questions.
Definitely going to check out your book Matt!
What are the top three tech books that most influenced your work?
For me:
The pragmatic programmer
Designing data-intensive applications
The Phoenix project
Where can we find the official digital version Matt?
Please sell this book in Brazil tks
When we buy the book is the data used in it available for download ?
According to an Amazon review, the Kindle version has typesetting problems so bad it's unusable. Can you assure me that the pdf version is OK?
The review is right on the mark - the only thing I'[d say is that if you're a complete Pandas novice, you might want to start with a YT tutorial first (I like the one Brandon Rhodes did for a Pycon) just to get a feeling for what it is, just to get a feeling for it. Matt starts at the very basics, and you'll learn a lot from that, but I can imagine that it's a bit dry and gives you a feeling of "yeah I want to DO something" that might get in the way.
If you DO have a (tiny) bit of Pandas experience it's great because it does a great job explaining how things really work, and making it easier to understand some of the finer nuances of its behavior. "Best Pandas book" is not an exaggeration!
Finally, thank you Matt for selling a physical book with color diagrams at a reasonable price, something some other publishers really seem to struggle with.
Hello Giles, first of all, I wish you a happy new year, and thanks for your video; they are very helpful. I have a question about books: what would you suggest as a book to start learning programming machine learning in python? Thanks in advance. :)
3 min video of affiliated product + 1 min ad. AMAZIN
Thanks Giles. What is Matt Harrisons website so I can buy the digital version of his book please? Thanks in advance.
My site is named metasnake
Hello Giles, greetings from the Panama Canal . Your videos are really helpful!
What is the washing machine doing in the kitchen? Is this common in the UK?
Yep it's common solution in UK and Irl if you have no utility room.
where can i find the digital version of the book??
Buying it now!!!!
Great video Giles.
feels like a reference book 80 pages in, these methods are good to know but without implementing it in a larger scale than just illustrative example lost me. i feel like the real life application parts come much later but i would recommend following an online tutorial project then see which functions are used and go back to this book
Lookin good Giles. We appreciate you.
Bruh I love your youtube videos I like you lot ❤
Thank you sir 😊
What sort of basic python skill level would you recommend before looking at this book?
Data types, loops, conditions, enumerate, zip
String, List,tuple,dict,set and their method
Math,random module...
Learn DSA for better grasp over 'how it will be as program'
What version of pandas does the book detail, 1 or 0?
Version 1. But much (most) is still applicable to 0
Is this recommended for someone who has good knowledge of python but never used pandas?
could you please suggest books for Numpy, Matplotlib and Scikit learn also?
I wrote Effective XGBoost (that covers for me the Scikit Learn portion).
I am getting into Linux. Are you a Linux user? Also if you are what Linux book would you recommend for a beginner?
I’m also learning how to use Unix ( similar) and it is a very difficult challenge to understand shell scripting
I recommend you use Udemy and find someone who has made videos for the basics . Trust me…most books are not self-intuitive and you will spend countless hours figuring things out when it is so simple
I'm recommending the Linux Command Line by William Shotts
Can you share the link for the digital version please?
I can't post a link here. Search for "metasnake" plus the name of the book.
Sir, Have you ever made a basic robot and programme it with your awesome programming skills? Sir, tell me.
Asked a question about the difference between this book and another one of his books, but it got deleted. That's disappointing.
i expected real pandas
Haha hehe hihi lmao
Yall ever try polars?
Yes, polars is great as well.
Sir,Can you please tell me best general python book which contain all information?
I'm recommending Python Crash Course by Eric Matthes
Pandas are my favorite animal. Was not properly ready for this video
Thought the book was about the animal panda😂
I strangely consider myself as something less than a python expert so...may be x)
You do not need a book to learn pandas 🙂
there's basically the docs too, why watch tutorials online either, whichever rows your boat
was not a fan myself found it a bit hard going.
What was difficult for you?
Up
Help I thought this was about the animals😭😭

I thought this was a book about PANDAS, this is such a clickbait
not big jst 400+ pages
Honestly, when you have to read a book about a library, there is a problem with you.
brilliant adds are so annoying and borring
