we would go see him play at the gardens in the early 70's. He would go end to end. the crowd would boo , until he scored. then the cheers. amazing player to watch. And the 1976 series , he was canada's mvp while struggling to play with his bad knees
What made Orr so incredible was everything he did was done on injured knees. His last great moment was the 76 Cabada Cup and by then his knees were shreded but he still dominated the tournament
Bobby Orr was a trailblazer who revolutionized the Defence position. The NHL had never seen this dynamic play before. For Hockey it was a new way of playing the position. Decades later and all other talented defenders owe Orr a debt of gratitude…4ever.
Add Roggie Vachon, Gump Worsley, Bernie Parent and Doug Favell. These goaltenders were just amazing in their series against the Bruins. Unlike Basketball, hockey is a team sport. It takes a team to win the Stanley Cup, not just one player.
Don Cherry 1st year in Boston, Grapes tried putting Bobby on the wing but after a few games gave it up because Bobby would end up playing defense anyway. That’s the year he had 139 points.
On Bob's voice......His entire, or one side of his diaphragm is probably becoming paralyzed and he hasn't much air when pushing out his voice. That's my guess.
Bobby Orr was the best player that ever laced up a pair of skates remarkable .
Amen
@@ralphpreston8688 Anyone who saw him play knows that!!
Orr is simply the best ever.
Bobby Orr changed the game for defensemen and was 20 years ahead of his time. Greatest player ever.
Orr was the best, and Scotty is the youngest 90 year-old I've ever seen and heard.
He looks amazing.
The most complete hockey player ever. A true gift to the game. Bobby Orr.

Bobby Orr #4 but #1 all-time!
I was born 82
I grew up with Bure Gretzky Lemieux Hasek...but I LOVE hearing stories about Bobby Orr and Clarke and the 70s hockey era
What made Orr so incredible was everything he did was done on injured knees. His last great moment was the 76 Cabada Cup and by then his knees were shreded but he still dominated the tournament

When Orr was on the ice the game was as fast or as slow as Orr wanted. He controlled everything he wanted when he was on the ice.
Even with a chopped up left knee he was faster than everyone….he just could pour it on all game long when the knee got shot.
Crazy that Scotty is 90 and still this sharp
Dam this guy is 90 … god bless him
Great to hear from Scotty Bowman. He did wonders with the expansion Blues, then went on to win several cups with Montreal.
No one better than Bobby Orr....
Bowman is 90 years old but you would never know it when you listen to him
I hope I look that good at 70!
2:22 "Bobby probably had 40 minutes" per game. That's insane.
Remember when Orr would slapshot an empty net goal and then do the gritty? Me neither.
Oh gosh no kidding. Head down, skate back to the bench, totally professional.
Best ever when healthy
One thing I remember was I don't recall him ever being out position defensively.
I was a Bruins fan then.BOBBY ORR THE GREATEST EVER!!THE main reason the Bruins didn't win more Cups.KEN DRYDEN.
Add Roggie Vachon, Gump Worsley, Bernie Parent and Doug Favell. These goaltenders were just amazing in their series against the Bruins.
Unlike Basketball, hockey is a team sport. It takes a team to win the Stanley Cup, not just one player.
No the main reason they didn’t win more cups was that they liked to have too much fun off the ice.
Orr is the GOAT
You're right on
I didn't hear he's running for office?
@@JustBreath123 have no idea what you're talking about
I guess you should. Who he happens to affiliate with any political party has nothing to do with his game or his legacy. Lighten up Francis!

And these old timers played with equipment that todays players couldnt use.
Don't underestimate a Bob 😅
Did Bill Clement and Gary Thorne the weigh in on this
They should have thrown 2 pucks out there. One for Bobby and one for everybody else....."Bobby Hull"
Only played 650 games, give Orr take
What happened to Bob McCown’s voice?
3:07 Bruins should’ve won more Cups.

Bob cried about fighting forever! He’s no hockey guy! Nice shades gooof!
Whats up with Bob? Is he sick? Flu? Or something else?
Bob had a stroke
He had a stroke quite a while ago now. He missed several months of his own show.
Why did Mr Orr's career change/game change at the same time as Mr Green took a year off in 69-70?
He's top 5. Top 2 if he wasn't injured as much as he was and played 15-18 years.
Lol
wow, what an analysis,
You got no idea pal
Bobby wanted $25 for his autograph at Yorkdale mall about 30 years ago. I was a kid and didn’t have the money… so I never like him
That's after Bobby Orr had most of his money stolen by Alan Eagleson and was trying to start over again, but without hockey
