Hello David, great video as always. You do work hard for the betterment of the apiculture community. And I thank you.
Live in southeast Arkansas, just moved from southeast Texas three months ago. Moved the bees successfully. I have three colonies and this is my third winter.
The other day, my wife put out rice bran for the deer. Yesterday I went to check on that, and I was looking at a lot of bees all over the rice bran. I am thinking pollen substitute.
Now, what do we know about the pros and cons of that rice bran picked by the bees.
Also, that is something we may not have control of, since we are living in a semi-rural area and this is normal around here.

David you talking about the weather & climate . I live in NC an I have always used the weather to the north and south mostly but I try to keep up with the weather all around me in every direction. I know when all the conditions around me usually happens talking about say a nectar flow or a dearth or a flow stopping or rains or storms or when cold weather is coming that may have a impact on my bee keeping . I can talk to other beekeepers. Say most of the time I know about the time things SHOULD HAPPEN but by keeping up with the weather an talking with other I can get a better idea if a season is going to be late or early an how much difference in a average season. So do not look at the weather that is just going to hit your bee yards . Talk to other beekeepers, get a good weather app maybe like direct weather or maybe Ryan hall . Both of these on you tube goes deep into the weather an changes from the complete US an all around. Just a thought.

Hi David. Question please: Is there a water temperature we should not exceed when making sugar syrup to lessen the production of HMF? I understand that syrup should not be cooked. What about heating water to a boil, removing from heat, then adding the sugar? I am using white cane sugar. Thank you.

I hate people that try to get bees and go treatment free will you make a video and explain why treating is so important and if you don’t treat they will crash we don’t have bees that are resistant to mites some bees may fight them off but that’s not how it works it would take years and years to get bees resistance

I’ve made that video and finally someone who agrees with me that we may never have resistant bees.
