Desirea Winton ...it’s a culture to appreciation, it doesn’t necessarily need to be female dancers, it could be male,mothers,fathers,men,...etc
In other words ,it’s a gift to the dancers, their group or the individual.

@@tahliah6691 They have Americanized it. The real dance comes with acrobatics, is so magical. But we still accept this one they are our children and have put in a lot of effort and time. In fact is commendable I never knew they can move their waist.

Keep it pure, this is culture not a fad! I wanted to join an adult Caribbean troupe but I was told that it was spiritual and because I respect the culture I was told that it was more than just movements of the body and being that I am not from the Caribbean I understood what the lady was telling me so needless to say I of course didn't join but I do respect cultures.

Tears runs down my soul as I see our rich cultures being vanishing, only few are practicing them in another man's land abroad, but at home it's vanishing due to subjugation and marginalization, sociopolitical, #socioeconomic strangulation and hardship #glasssealing convened on our Biafra people by the #NigeriaBritish govt that lead our people to run abroad and leave these cultural values including our language and beliefs to die at home.
