lots of haters here,, you just cant accept that this man is happy with what he have and enjoying the simplest thing in life.. btw great video, more power to you sir.
Solar only helmets can fail much more often than those with battery power and solar backup. They are your eyes so use what you want. I figure that I've only got one set of eyes so I'm going to use the best gear I can get to protect them. Ever wonder why it's only the cheapest auto darkening welding helms that are solar only while the more expensive ones all have battery power with solar backup? Ever try solar only on low amperage TIG? Go with what you believe will protect you the best.
@Ray Man Having an auto darkening helmet that's solar only is a recipe for sore eyes/head aches or burnt retinas. I spent over $300 on mine, runs on batteries and solar but it also works down to 2 amp TIG which a lot of the ones on the market don't do now or didn't when I bought it and it has shades from 5 through 13. It also has a grinding setting if you just want to use it as a face shield while grinding, doesn't darken at all although the screen itself is about a 3 (basic sunglasses). I shopped around a lot because I wanted a welding helmet that worked for everything from plasma cutting (5) to low amp TIG (7 or 8) to high amp stick (13). I think its a Viking by Lincoln, model 3350. All I know is that it's a great helmet (as long as you keep extra batteries on hand) with the largest viewing screen I could find at the time. I hope you found a helmet that meets your budget and protects the peepers. If all I did was stick I'd be ok with a solar only auto darkening but I piddle around with a lot more. Mine's an older model that has the grinding setting inside but the newer models have a control for the grinding mode on the outside, not enough of a thing for me to upgrade, I've had mine for about 6 or 7 years and still works and looks like new. No, I'm not paid to promote Lincoln products, I just really love the helmet. (the helmet is the only Lincoln product I own, TIG is a 200amp AC/DC by AlfaTig, MIG is 200 amp Longevity (both do 200 amp stick), Everlast 50Amp plasma (also does DC TIG and stick). I'm pretty happy with all of it.
Iv ordered this mask ill be having it tomorrow . Iv been using a cheap £12 mask off eBay for years so let's see if this is worth the £150 price tag 😑. May do a video myself lol
why doesn't have a shade 13? speedglass isn't cheap and should get darker. also confused it says made in Sweden and also has the Chinese export logo...
Good tip.. Just started welding at 58... Had my helmet on grind mode and went to weld.. Had to stop for ten minutes because it screwed with my eye sight...
Nice loud and clear

You know in auto welding helmet, there are buttons to switch something up and down. What are switching up and down buttons used for?
Thanks

Hi, great video, are you Dutch? Hard to match accent! Nice helmet though.
Where is your accent from? You sound like a Turkish Welshman. Did you learn from TV? Which gameshow was your outro from in this episode?
crap.mine does not have batteries and work like a charm.
Go for one with an auto on/off so you won't be flashed for forgetting to turn it on.
