Hey everyone! Sorry I am a bit behind, so I haven't added chapters for this video yet, but I promise, I will do that today ;) Thanks for all your support!
Oh my gosh! That's so cool! I always think it is so cool to know the authors of publications like this, it makes reading the text more fun and interesting haha. Thanks for your comment & support! ;)
Thank you so much doctor! You inspire me to work hard to get pass my required physics and statics courses to get through the rest of my geological engineering degree! I can’t wait to learn more! I had my first petrology course this semester so this was helpful review for the final as well, you explain it all so clearly! A future video (when you have time) on metamorphic facies and their associated tectonic environments would be awesome! 💗
Thanks Joe! I am so glad you like them, I am planning on tying to continue the Wednesday videos all through February, but after that, we will see haha. ;)
@@samakshgupta8750 Wow, thank you SO much for this! It is so much easier for me to do topics that are very specific, so I will try to make these videos soon :) (Although, no promises because whether I can make these videos depends on whether I understand the concepts myself hahaha, so I will start reading about them and hopefully I'll eventually understand it well enough to teach ;)
Thanks doc for your effort 💙💙✨ I want to ask you a question ⁉️ If we increase grade of temperature and pressure on schist it will turn to gneiss or not, or gneiss only com from metamorphosing of granite, and slate or schist come from shale only.
So to my understanding, gneiss can form in various ways. One way is the metamorphism of granite, another is the metamorphism of schist. I think the schist would just make a more mica rich gneiss and granite would make variable compositions of gneiss depending on the original granitic composition. Hope that helps ;)
Hi maam need your help...plz can you explain corona texture in metamorphic rocks and can you plz tell in brief on crystallization of magma in Diopside and Anorthite phase dia
Mam please continue video on metamorphic, like facies, metamorphic reaction, paired metamorphic belt, thermal and regional metamorphic of carbonate and pelitic rocks, metamorphic grid, thermodynamics metamorphic reactions,
Wow, this is such a great topic list, thank you for the suggestions! And thank you for making them specific, that really helps. I will get working on these, but just a heads up it may take a while for them to come out because I am not that well versed in metamorphic petrology just yet and will need to do a lot of reading myself ;)
You should do one on impact events! I would love to see some different examples of those, in hand specimens and thin sections.. plane and polarized lights.. There’s not enough information about them, and I’m so curious about them!! It’s got to be a whole other level of metamorphosis.. Right?

It costs 2 dollars, 5 dollars, or 10 dollars a month depending on the tier you choose. If you do the 5 or 10 dollar tier you will have access to all my vlogs ;) (and I understand if you are tight on funds, so you can cancel your membership at any time).

I have learned a great deal about geology from your RUclips channel that I have never encountered in my science courses at university
I had Carol Frost as a professor at Uwyo, great teacher! Also, thanks and great summary today.

Thank you. Love your videos. They are simple and easy to understand 😊

Waiting for this video. Very nicely explained, thank you so much🙏🙏
So glad you liked it, let me know other metamorphic petrology topics you want me to cover ;)

Thank you geogirl❤
@18:39 I wonder why the angle is around 120 degrees? Reminds me of Inca walls at Machu Picchu.
Keep Continues metamorphic petrology till high level study then it will be effective. Means till the mineralogy, grade, facies and more and more...
Haha, I will give it my best, but I am not a metamorphic petrologist by any means, so I may not be able to cover those topics as well as others ;)
@@GEOGIRL thanks, and what about contact number??
As always you make these topic super easy to understand..thank you

Yes! It creates something called 'shock metamorphism' and it's so cool!
@@GEOGIRL I’d love to see some examples of that!!! And listen to you talk about it!! Or any type of cosmic event, or rock..
@@HoboMinerals Haha awesome! I will look into it, thanks for the suggestion ;D
You may be GeoGirl but you're my GoToGirl for geology. I wish I'd watched this episode before I wasted a ton of time at someone else's channel.
Granulite was one of the samples for my last lab test ☹
