automatic, all the time, every time. I realize they're pilot watches but it would be great if Orient could shrink these down to 36.4 mm like their Bambinos.
@Claudio Monárdez Hola, Claudio, yes, I know pilots watches are supposed to be big, I guess what I would find more appealing for my puny wrist would be a smaller case size with the same dial design. Of course, it could be argued that Seiko’s SNK80x 37mm flieger B style dials already filled that niche, but the Orient dial design and the hacking and hand winding would be a strong case for offering such a watch. Maybe one day we’ll all get the watches we desire. :)
I've had the quartz version for about 6 months now. Very happy with it, although I agree that the strap is rather stiff and inflexible so I swapped it out for a more traditional leather one. I might pick up an auto version if I see one at a good price! Another great review!
TY was looking at one on Ebay(quartz) I like the size and function ..guess it comes down to ending bid....its Orient Quartz Japan movement Vs Wenger Swiss movement automatics in my choices. love the size too..most of the pilot and or military/field watches I was looking at are on the small(36mm) size(im assuming as a tribute to their style of a older watch that was smaller) to me 36 is just too small and almost looks like a kids/ladies watch..for me(and i dont have big wrists at 6 3/4 the 40-42mm is the sweet spot for my tastes. 38 is suitable also but not a first choice. Anything bigger is just too big unless its a "tool" watch youre wearing for a specific reason...for instance my Fenix 3 comparatively is huge..but it also does a ton more when im hiking, biking, working out etc...like the Orients size on these was my point i guess.
For me, ~100 USD is the price cap for a "flieger" unless it's a real one worn during the WW2 era. That can't be had for anything close to 100 USD, so this quartz Orient would be a suitable placeholder while I wait for the genii to arrive.
Which one do you prefer? Automatic or quartz?
automatic :)

@@nplus1watches35 yes, pilot watches are big, did you check San martin 39mm pilot ?
I like the quartz one more, as it is thinner and looks more compact

it's simple but pretty good
Automatic. And I think 42 mm for a pilot watch is a good size, even 44-45 would be nice. The 36 mm watches are in the field watch category.
agree
Both look good, but I'd take an automatic watch.
THANK YOU
Thansk for watching
0:23 Two watches on the left and none to the right?
