  • The Adare Railway lies in County Limerick, Ireland. During its lifetime, the railway served both passenger and goods traffic - connecting Limerick city all the way to Foynes Port in the West.
The railway was opened in 1856 and closed in 1963. Following its closure, a weeding and inspection train would periodically pass over the line but both stopped in 2002 and 2003, respectively.
There were talks of reviving the line in 2015 but so far nothing has come to fruition.
In the video we see a few level crossings, some trackbed and a level-crossing house which is derelict and abandoned. The whole line is preserved unlike other railways which I feature on this Chanel (contrast the Adare railway with the Mallow-Fermoy railway which has very little trace remaining).
