Love it when Barry's speed is tied to the plot. When there's no reason for it he's unbeleivably fast that everything else stands still..then when fighting a villain he's slow enough to be tags by bullets and other random shit.

Notice how he casually lets Thawne jaunter away. We already showed how slow Thawne's best punch was compared to Barry. So, just imagine Thawne going "I will get stronger, I will!' And then slowly jogging away as Barry just stands there and shakes his head.
Speed like that is kind of game breaking. Any conceivable obstacle could be easily overcome if the villains didn't have contrived writing and plot armor. I mean, this is comic books bro, you gotta know that going in.
What kept the show going were Tom, Grant and Ramon (Cisco). It started to go awry when Cisco used the meta-cure to not be Vibe and 20 episodes later appears as Mecha-Vibe.

Speedsters as written in these shows are so ridiculous. Let's throw out the absurdity of him losing to any non-speedster for a second and just focus on speedster vs speedster fights like this one. If just one of them is even 5% faster than the other then the fight would be over in a heartbeat. There's just no good way to write speedsters into a show.

But i think logically thats how fast the Flash should be now. He’s fought people way faster than Thawne wayyy before this, especially Savitar. Savitar basically did the same thing with Barry when Barry was the same speed as Thawne, if not, than faster.

Despite Season 7 being not the best season of the Flash, I still think this is a cool moment where we see the Flash be the Flash. He's finally been able to overcome his arch nemesis in an instant, proving he really is the fastest man alive. Wish it could've happened way earlier though.
Then he loses to Despero. When Barry made 2 speed mirages to defeat him, HE WAS CHOOSING WHICH ONE TO HIT. At that point, his speed was comparable to Barry’s.
barry also stands there and has let every villain big or small get away like a dumbass in every season soooo many god damn times its truly sad how lame he is in the show. I had hope for him but it slowly went away after season 2.

Recently my 7th season aired, and it was consider the worst one among even die hard fans didn't like it. Recently I showed the audience I'm much faster than the reverse flash, but in doing so I put my show at risk, because the reverse flash is one of the few good characters still left, and so I let him escape. I'm the only one fast enough to keep letting bad guys escape, I'm the flash.
I don't care how many times they gonna return Thawne, and how stupid they make him each time, I still love him. He is for sure most cannon and most true villain of a series, being one who will always be there, and who is the best. He started it all, he keeps it alive.
But like barry doesn’t just run fast, he *exists* fast, so i can just picture him watching thawne run away at a slower than average speed and its kinda hilarious

Because thawne doesn't actually pose a threat to anyone else, he also knows that he will find a way to escape any prison he is put in. And then there is also about 3 different amazing friends when he looks into his eyes.

Well to be fair, Barry always knew how to roast people. Just think of Elseworlds. First he triggered Oliver by NOT arguing with him and when Oliver wanted to blitz him, Barry made him tripped and said "If you would have full control of my powers, I wouldn't be able to lay a finger on you" while he mastered Ollies powers like it was a Tuesday morning. Roasted him like thrice in a scene

Thawne could've shaken off Barry's ambush and kept up the fight but Barry knocked him out cold twice and not even, Barry was still able to box him up in the 11th episode and still decisively beat him. Not to mention also beating Zoom singlehandledy at the end.
Goddamn Barry, where was this speed against literally every villain ever. And then on the next episode, you're probably gonna be slower than a gun again.
Remember in s6 "Ultraviolet light travels 80 times faster then you" seems like barry's speed depends on the writers mood per episode 😂 One episode Barry can outrun a nuke for 30 mins (a nuke explosion lasts 4.5 mili seconds btw) and in another a big lady just grabs him and he can't run away 😂😂

Barry's speed is actually bullshit. He's constantly saying "I'm too slow" or "I need to be faster" and in a few episodes he's "faster" then next season he's on repeat mode. It wasn't unbearable when the first 3 main villains were speedsters but damn, did he really need to be "faster" against The Thinker, Cicada, and Mirror Monarch. Also how tf does this man just let villains escape. He's hundreds of times faster than them but as soon as they turn the corner they become uncatchable. And why can Barry fight multiple speedsters but can't beat people with special guns in 1 go. Barry's speed is indeed bullshit.
The fact they can't create a good villain and keep bringing Reverse Flash back just shows that they are milking it. Reverse Flash is the reason why this series is still alive, he is the only great villain the series has produced. The writers can't come up with something better
Agreed except for devoe. He is so brilliant that he planned events far beyond by just changing single variable. I don't care about remaining. It's just screen play for devoe is not good enough. Not planned enough.
I feel like that's one of the most frustrating things with Barry and Batman, they just can't get that at times some lives need to be taken. That's why I liked Oliver, he was considered a hero and he wasn't afraid to cross that line for the better of the city.

Man... I want to love this show so much. The Thawne-Barry interactions are amazing, and this iteration of Reverse Flash is one of the more compelling comic villains brought to the screen in recent years. But the regular series episodes are just such a slog to go through... It feels like eating a bowl of porridge mixed with buckets of sand, but then you get a perfectly glazed donut of a scene to keep you invested. I tried for 3 seasons, but now I just watch villain clips on RUclips instead.

@Pero Sux At Roblox His speed isnt artificial but more that he siphoned off of Barry's speedforce in a sense, I reckon that he's now got a much stronger connection to the speedforce than Thawne is able to get, that'll probably change after 1 episode though.
I really hope that in Season 8 Thawne fights all of Barry's previous villains in order to get faster. I would love to see Thawne v Zoom, or Thawne v Savitar, just to see their interactions.

Thawne would beat them all tbh. His connection to the negative speedforce means he can never remain dead and he will kill with the first chance he gets. Barry has always needed thawne help to stop most of his enemies.
As meh as most of this season was, this scene is truly one of my favorite Barry and Thawne scenes in the entire series. The way Barry smugly scoffs at Thawne feels so rewarding after everything Thawnes taken from Barry. Truly a great Flash moment

Despite Season 7 being not the best season of the Flash, I still think this is a cool moment where we see the Flash be the Flash. He's finally been able to overcome his arch nemesis in an instant, proving he really is the fastest man alive. Wish it could've happened way earlier though.
Basically Barry Allen is at the same level of speed as the original timeline Flash the one that vanishes in Crisis of the year 2024.
Then he loses to Despero. When Barry made 2 speed mirages to defeat him, HE WAS CHOOSING WHICH ONE TO HIT. At that point, his speed was comparable to Barry’s.

Barry's speed is actually bullshit. He's constantly saying "I'm too slow" or "I need to be faster" and in a few episodes he's "faster" then next season he's on repeat mode. It wasn't unbearable when the first 3 main villains were speedsters but damn, did he really need to be "faster" against The Thinker, Cicada, and Mirror Monarch. Also how tf does this man just let villains escape. He's hundreds of times faster than them but as soon as they turn the corner they become uncatchable. And why can Barry fight multiple speedsters but can't beat people with special guns in 1 go. Barry's speed is indeed bullshit.
And the writing which is the source of all of this.
The fact they can't create a good villain and keep bringing Reverse Flash back just shows that they are milking it. Reverse Flash is the reason why this series is still alive, he is the only great villain the series has produced. The writers can't come up with something better

I swear 90% of the problems in the show are created by very poor decision making skills on Barry’s part. It’s like they counter his insane powers by making him just mind numbingly stupid…
Man... I want to love this show so much. The Thawne-Barry interactions are amazing, and this iteration of Reverse Flash is one of the more compelling comic villains brought to the screen in recent years.
But the regular series episodes are just such a slog to go through... It feels like eating a bowl of porridge mixed with buckets of sand, but then you get a perfectly glazed donut of a scene to keep you invested.
I tried for 3 seasons, but now I just watch villain clips on RUclips instead.
This looks like the Barry from the future that Thawne was talking about in season 1.

I know I'm late to this party but I love seeing scenes with Tom and Grant. They have by far the best chemistry period. No other pair has epic scenes like this, I swear gives me chills to see it.

Thawne would beat them all tbh. His connection to the negative speedforce means he can never remain dead and he will kill with the first chance he gets. Barry has always needed thawne help to stop most of his enemies.

As meh as most of this season was, this scene is truly one of my favorite Barry and Thawne scenes in the entire series. The way Barry smugly scoffs at Thawne feels so rewarding after everything Thawnes taken from Barry. Truly a great Flash moment
