Ah, the arctic. It’s cold up there.
Why are they sharing top secret information?
As deterrence.
The arctic due to climate change caused by global warming in melting. During summer months the Arctic sea ice has been shrinking by 12.2% per decade since1979. Melting glaciers add to the rising of sea levels which in turn increase his coastal erosion and elevate storm surge as warning air in ocean temperatures .

So what exactly are US interests? The coastline of Alaska?
Shorter shipping routes, minerals, location, etc.. also, Russia has a giant cold water navy.
@BPI906 Russia has 51% of arctic circle coast and the US has Alaska.
The wealth of their nation is there, that's US interests. Getting us corporations into other people's oil fields .

Why she disclose the top secret? Why? The whole world is listening ok?
Compartmentalized, for a greater audience.
Maybe because your allies are listening too to make clear that USA is commited to arctic region. And also send message to Russia that no mater wich of your allies are operating on arctic region that USA is in common front with rest of your allies. In case you did not for example Finland has build 60% of world icebrakers and planed 80% of them that curently operate in the world. And is located high north.
Words, sound-bites, camera's ... action! What part of this presentation was "top secret" again? Did I hear that they're making a "strategy to create a roadmap"?
"Alaska is the cross-road between the Indo-Pacific and Europe"? I thought that the Suez Canal was that cross-road?
They forgot to mention that Russia and the PRC have 65 ice breakers that either exist, are under construction or planned ... and, the US has 8.
Northwest and Northeast Passages are so important is for shipping. The Northwest Passage route is 7,000 km shorter than the current route through the Panama Canal, and the Northeast Passage route is one-third of the distance of the traditional route through the Suez Canal.
Russia is going bankrupt. There is no way they can maintain their navy and deep sea mining or military ops.
Thanks. And just got my coffe, part only maybe , but I know how it is. And yes. I have tried to have the planes with the tea and coffee machines in the crew compartments and such, so there is a more basic over comfort during the flights as well as ground crew and loader comforrts while waiting...
