How I rank the Indiana Jones films 1. Raiders of the Lost Ark 2. The Temple of Doom 3. the Last Crusade 4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 5. The Dial of Destiny
Here’s my reasons as to why both bombed The flash - enormous budget - Controversial lead actor - Desperate marketing campaign - part of a franchise that is about to get rebooted and doesn’t interest audience because of that - damaged brand - superhero movie fatigue ( yes guardians and across the spider verse are exceptions but mediocre superhero films aren’t) - poor word of mouth As for Indiana jones 5 - Unnecessary sequel - Again enormous budget - Honestly Indy 4 has damaged the franchise that made people stay away for the next one - again nobody was interested in seeing an ancient Indiana jones who’s 500 years old - Indiana jones is not Star Wars or MCU, sadly enough this generation is not interested in Indy
I don't think there was ever a real demand for an Ezra Miller Flash movie... When the Joss Whedon cut of Justice League came out, Miller was singled out by critics as being "the best thing about the movie", but I think that was because most critics probably relate to that bumbling, awkward persona that he has in those movies. With Indiana Jones... Again, they over estimated the demand for another one. If Crystal Skull had been embraced in the same way The Last Crusade was, maybe people would have flocked to it, but it wasn't and they aren't. Also, as you said, a lot has changed in the 2008 and today's kids just don't care about Indiana Jones. When I saw Dial of Destiny in the cinema, there were some yappy kids in the back row who had to be told to shut up... Mercifully, they did, but around the halfway point they got up and left... And this was on opening day! It dawned to me afterwords that those kids were about 13/14, so they weren't even born when Crystal Skull came out.
Dang I'm the first one lol. Matt I do agree with you on both films and respect your opinion. But tbh I saw both of these films and would watch Dial of Destiny 2 more times than see pedo/predator Ezra on screen as Flash. Flash was fun but Indy was more fun, action was good and you have to give lil credit for Harrison Ford with the emotional interviews he had for this film at his age at 80 on the dot. Btw what is your rank of the Indy films for me it would go 1. Temple of Doom 2. Raiders of the Lost Ark 3. The Last Crusade 4. Dial of Destiny 5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I didn't see Indy 5 because I don't wanna give Disney my money and I thought Crystal Skull is a good send off for Indy. I saw The Flash (don't ask how) and I absolutely f***ing hated it! Here's why I think it bombed: 1) The film was pushed back so many times and went through so many directors and writers dating back to 2014. 2) They kept a problematic lead actor who's committed so many crimes that he deserves to be locked up and have the key melted down. Warner Brahs knew this and yet they *STILL* kept him on. 3) Garbage CGI! I thought Marvel had shitty CGI but dear god in heaven, this film took the cake! I mentally checked out at that microwave CGI baby scene. 4) Poor pathetic use of nostalgia. This film was a wake up call to that. I gave it a pass when I saw No Way Home because that shows some respect with Andrew Garfield's Spiderman getting personal closure. It's like Warner Brahs knew this film would tank so they shoved Keaton in this film despite the fact that this is a Flash film! Keaton's 71 and he did the best with what he's given. But I hated that he got killed off! He should've showed up in the ending with Supergirl, NOT Clooney's Batman which *EVERYONE* f***kng hates! 5) A unbalanced story. This film is a butchered version of The Flashpoint with bits of The Butterfly Effect tossed in. At least with the Butterfly Effect, I bought the story and Ashton Kutcher did a good job and I felt sorry for what he went through. I ended up giving the film 2 and a half stars, mainly because of the Keaton Batman, Supergirl and Batfleck's final conversation with Barry. It's definitely as bad as Ant Man 3.
The cgi in Ant Man 3 was very terrible on my first viewing, it was very noticeable at that point that MCU films and shows(except GOTG 3) were looking worse.

Top Gun Maverick is also a bit of a member berry too it's not that original i didn't even notice the obvious references but the more I thought about it yeah it's the original meets Star Wars. I agree it's an ok film it was well-made though the things done for real they were guided and Tom Cruise only flew a real plane at the end of the film, The Val Kilmer stuff was interesting but sad and Miles Teller did well. I think audiences are burnt out on the DCEU because of how divisive it is and how fragmented the fan base is with half the fans liking Flash the other half hating it and half the fans wanting more Snyder and half not. With Indiana Jones they over spent on it and I don't think today's generation cares about aindiana Jones they didn't care about Blade Runner 2049 either also starring Ford. 1. Raiders of the Lost Ark

I haven't watched them like so many people, I can't say they suck but I feel like what is the point. I don't want to see Indy become a pathetic miserable man with another smug British chick telling him how he sucks. I know the pattern from good old KK and Disney. The problem with the Flash is the DCEU is cancelled and I see no point in watching it in theaters.
Exactly 💯
Both were member berry films that had time travel in them made no sense. This is why Tom Cruise praised the Flash or it's very likely since he's into member berfies.
Batman vs Superman to me was dog shit I agree with you movies like Indiana Jones or Star Wars and etc back then was so special like you said special event now too much Superheros these days every year a lot of Superheroes movies I got tired of it myself
Matt is that guy for sure
whats crazy matt harrison ford is taking over william hurts thunderbolt ross role in the next avengers movie and he supposed to turn into redhulk too lol
Indy 5 SUCKED & The baby microwave thrower flash SUCKED
The really reason why because people never wanted to see these movies anyway
I don’t know why they didn’t have Wally west in the movie 🎥 with supergirl and Batman 89
There was a cancelled Flash movie from the 2000s from Blade 1 & 2, and The Dark Knight Trilogy screenwriter David S Goyer starring Ryan Reynolds as Flash with Reverse Flash that David S Goyer said this unmade movie had the tone of Spider-Man 1 & 2.
Here’s a video about it. Check it out and tell me your thoughts ruclips.net/video/Ih09ExtZq08/видео.htmlsi=V7KmZ5yXah6idCMi
There are lots of other terrible movies that suck but still made boat loads of money. The Avenger's Infinity Bore and Avenger's Endgame movies for example.
Everyone's going to see Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Dude I remember the summer of 89 and Batmania was real lol
Another great video Matt 🙂
i still do not think it is superhero fatigue, it is average/mediocre movie fatigue (which most of them are)
Even though you said you don’t look forward to any new movie coming out since John wick 4 was a disappointment…do you look forward to Mission Impossible Dead reckoning and bad boys 4?
Why would I look forward to Bad Boys 4? So that Will slaps Martin, too?
@@ramboraph4life Will: Martin, keep your character out of my f-ing movie!
They should have just killed off Indy and called it a day
We have The Marvels coming out in November.
Great. Another huge flop incoming. I can't wait not to see that pile of shit.
Yeah, that looks also terrible. One Mary Sue named Capt Marvel is enough, the LAST thing we need is a trio of unlikeable Capt Marvels. Why don’t they make it a whole army of them in Capt Marvel 3 😂
@@dong.corleone Thank god Dune 2 is coming out the week before. That film is gonna blow The Marvels out of the water!
@@wiinterflowers4277The Marvels just look like that loser high school student trio that would often get their lunch money stolen, given swirlies or even stuffed into lockers 😂
@@dong.corleone To be honest, that movie deserves to be shoved in the locker! And it's gonna tank even when it's got a ultra racist director helming it!
It looks like everything is flopping this year at least tent pole wise besides Spiderverse nearly every big movie seems to be flopping. I think audiences are suffering from to many big movies coming at once and to much saturation of the market that and mainstream audiences don't care about the DCEU no matter what movie it is they only seem to care about DC else world stuff and I don't think young audiences care about Indiana Jones either.
I hate Kathleen Kennedy but honestly I blame Bob Iger to be honest.
So Michael Keatons batman dies fuck that!!!
They need to stop making sequel movies and TV shows from the 80s and 90s. All the characters either have zero character development or change too much. Most of them are about 90 percent nostalgia and anything new is just a cheap copy of the original.
and indy 5 just got beat by insidious 5
Yeah even tho Insidious 5 is Garbage 😂
@@kingslayer2999And even made Patrick’s character a divorced loser apparently from what I heard too. Now that’s two leads now divorced losers in A WEEK
@@dong.corleone My friend saw the film and she said Patrick's character ends up getting back with his wife after saving his son.
And *Sound of Freedom*
@@samueljamesonfern3245 what is that movie? A christian movie?!?
Awful 90s CGI moments aside, I really enjoyed Flash.
Too bad it's gotten such drag reviews.
Indiana Jones I did not see, will never see, because after part 4 you'll never again make a fool outta me.
Hard boycott. Love the trilogy.
You liked the flash putting babies into microwaves?
@ramboraph4life You ever see Peter Jacksons 'Dead Alive'?
In that movie they put a baby in a blender, and pureed it..
Yeah...it's a horror comedy and the baby is a zombie baby. Not the same here.
@ramboraph4life Yeah, but the opening of Flash was total slapstick. No? It reminded me of the goofey opening to Superman 3..
The 2020s have been a crappy decade for movies!
James Gunn being put in charge of everything DC couldn’t just say the Flash movie was garbage when he was hired towards the end of last year
Him being in charge now does have me hopeful that the high quality and consistency will be there for DC projects going forward though he still needs to sort out some stuff towards the end of the year. Hopefully 2024 onward will be a new era but only time will tell and hopefully his Superman Legacy movie will be a better experience than Man of Steel was
I don't trust him with DC either. They only hired him because of GOTG and those characters are less iconic than Superman and Batman. He says he's gonna stick to the source material, yeah that's what they all say.
@@MrDman21 this is a guy who is faithful but knows when to make necessary changes like what he did with his Suicide Squad movie and Peacemaker show for DC which happened because Disney fired him and ironically made those projects and the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie better
@@daimonatkins3046 and his Suicide Squad movie didn't do well and Peacemaker got cancelled after one season. I don't care how faithful he is, doesn't mean the movies are gonna be good. It's just DC/WB is desperate to copy the MCU instead of doing their own thing.
@@MrDman21 on home video and on HBO Max, James Gunn’s Suicide Squad performed better than Snyder’s Justice League and Mortal Kombat 2021. Also Peacemaker Season two is happening and will be releasing potentially in 2025 after Superman Legacy comes out
@@daimonatkins3046 Snyder's justice league was hit or miss. And anything can happen before 2025. We don't know what's gonna happen between now and then. Studios just put too much faith in one person, like Marvel with Kevin Feige.
Matt is it true that you’re related to vin diesel?
I wish.
What gets me is how you sit on your ass for hours to write and act this out, work on the CGI, etc.
Now it just looks like they are more concerned about a NAME rather than what's in the movie.
Mario Bros beats John Wick 4 with billions of bucks because it was a fun movie with charm. Not the best, but loyal with a lot of worldwide recognition.
For the Flash, I don't think Erza's personal life has mostly to do with it?
And man and the Wasp: Wokimania!
good video
I loved the Flash. Indy 5 was meh.
Hillo Rambo 4444444444444444 life
Why did dungeons and dragons bomb that movie didn’t suck ?
Because the marketing sucked. The trailer was lame and the comments from the producers on emasculating men.
@@Hopium500 the trailer literally was the tone of the movie lol. Good movies bomb just cuz a movie bombs doesn’t mean it’s bad many factors go into it .
It's because WOTC decided to nuke their own fanbase a month earlier
Because it was released in the wrong time. Came out between John wick and Mario. And Mario literally murdered the film financially since it came out a week after
young kid watch anime more indy
I disagree COMPLETELY!!!!
Both FLASH and INDY 5 were awesome to me!
😂😂
