i'd like to see this somehow be used in a practical manner in a desert environment so that the soil becomes farmable on a large scale. this woud take years, but i think the rewards would be worth the time and effort

Results would theoretically be very quick if you cover the exposed ground in a ton of wood chips, leaves, straw, and other organic detritus and inoculated them with saprophytic fungi. These would colonize relatively very quickly and retain lots of moisture, beginning the process of building the soil. Inoculating seeds or saplings with native mycorrhizal fungi prior to planting will catalyze the whole process as well. Just be sure to plant directly in the soil underneath the mulch, not in the mulch itself.

@@xxpowwowbluexx would it need a 'moist' environment to work? would it still work in an arid desert?

See what Paul Stamets did in Ecaudor I think this is same or similar as the fungi break down the pollution or oil and make the soil and water safe..... this video doesn't explain it as well as a few by Paul Stamets

I am interested in breaking down glyphosate in my yard. An individual poured it on my trees and plants. What mushroom would be best? Did you get a degree in mycology?

I’m sure something is going on here that is or could lead to a great success. Certain bacteria also have been reported to consume and or transform these chemicals .

Grow them on the soil, the mushrooms with eat the toxins. To get started blend mushrooms in some sugar water and let it sit at roo. Temperature for a few days, then pour the mixture over woodchips, or straw, or even coffee grounds keep them moist. It works with many types of mushrooms.

She knows that. She is speaking in an approachable manner that most people will understand without needing to look up unfamiliar terms. Imagine if they started off the video using the term ‘mycophobia’ in the first few seconds. Most people watching wouldn’t understand and would be turned off and click on a different video.

Useless branding. It's better to impart the know how rather to lock it up like a genie in a bottle

They do teach it. Get the book, take an online course, watch the videos. There are several others who are teaching this stuff, too. You will find them if you look.
