- Picking up my brand new 2017 BMW M240i. The order was first placed back on Feb 5, 2017 and I've been waiting for 4 months for the car to arrive in Vancouver. Can't wait to start taking this out on adventures!

Have a 2016 M235i. Mineral Grey. Really love it. 325hp. Have had it up to 150mph. Handles like a slot car. Highly recommended.

Just picked up my 2018 m240xi last Thursday. I went in thinking I wanted the white/red combo too, but then I saw a red interior on the lot and it was just off to me. I was kind of disappointed about it. Instead, I went with white / cognac and it is absolutely stunning. Just wish the manual was available with xdrive. Oh well. This car freaking flies and is so much fun. I know your exact feeling of happiness and excitement man. Killer ride.
Congrats! I got my first BMW ever about 3 months ago and always get looks and compliments from it. Went with M2 (6-speed white just like yours). I did same thing as you with an Acura I bought brand new in 2003 and I had never driven stick before. You didn't hurt the clutch so don't worry about it too much. They can take a lot of beating before wear signs show up. Enjoy your ride! Not many people have the chance to get such a nice car.

VERY nice car. Considering the M240i in black or red as my next ride. Really enjoying your videos, but that might be partially because I'm from lower mainland too (lived in Richmond for years). Been looking at the older m235i and now the m240i. Wish I was in shape to get one now.
Funny how you learned how to drive stick after you got the car. I got an 09 civic si that was stick. the salesman drove me around the lot. I didnt even get to drive till I signed the papers too. he drove it home for me so I got to practice in the country. lots less traffic. lol
Definitely go for the M240i if you find a good deal for one! And that sounds like great service from the sales guy. For me, getting thrown into the deep end was the quickest way to learn. Sink or swim as they say :P
Go for the M235i. Engine is a lot more refined and can be pushed for more power. It also has more power in the low revs and the boost dies off earlier in revs compared to the 235i.

@@iProCombo it's been a long time now, but have you discovered the B58 is the superior engine in every aspect? B58 is an award winning motor that never disappoints in any way!
Congratulations she's a beaut have a 4 Series convertible with the M sport package I definitely want to trade it in for the end 240i and Alpine white with the black wheels and of course put the carbon fiber spoiler and murder out the windows

Glad I could help! I went with the M240i for the power/handling/looks. The 3 and 4 series would be way more practical though. Nah I refused to practice on a manual prior to delivery. It really helped with the "new car" feel. Let me know what you decide!

Surprised that you are allowed to drive a manual transmission if you pass your test in an auto transmission. ? Wouldn't happen in the UK..great car thou 👍
Thanks! Yeah, it might seem odd but there aren't any transmission indications on our driver's licence here

Very late to the party lmao. The blue key trim is for M sport cars, its only red if you get the sport versions which is the trim level down.

Thinking about going back to bmw. Use to have a 135is. Loved the car but hate the lil issues that would come up. Any problems with the b58. If you worry about stalling u will stall....lol!
So far the B58 has been smooth as butter even after installing the tune. I stalled 3-4 times the day I picked up the car haha
Shundel yea, bmw tend to have heavy clutches. Not the best to start with. Yea might pick up a m240i xdrive today but for the Misses. Im south of you, in Seattle. But usually hang out in downtown vancouver.

Hey Brian, yes it is my first manual. It's surprisingly easy as long as you have a basic understanding of how MT works. I think the torqiness of the engine made it a lot easier too.

Yeah I had a few in mind, including the M2, Mustang GT, STI, and the Focus RS

I got the 428i when I returned my previous leased car. I had it for about a month before a picked up the M240i
This is doooope, my family is somewhat well off and im very grateful for it and plan to get me this car when i graduate high school, im currently driving a 2009 honda accord😂 but hey its my first car but my second car will be a MASSIVE upgrade
Haha the first car I ever drove was a 2003 Corolla so I know how you feel! I came from a 2014 Subaru BRZ just before this and the M240i trumps it in virtually all categories.
I didnt even get to drive to high school, growing up poor sucked.
I drive one now, its a great car! The OP got it in the color combo I wanted, but I didn't want to wait months for White on Red.... so I got one off the lot with all the options I wanted, but in Silver / Terra Cotta Brown. Loving the car so far!

what made you choose this over the STI and RS?
It's hard to compress my answer down to a few sentences because there were so many factors I considered. To simplify... it was best bang for buck based on performance, features, cargo space, maintenance/warranty, customization, and overall personal preferences. To top it off, I may have subconscious bias towards bimmers lol

The RS just doesn't look that cool IMO. It looks too much like the A and S versions. Plus they are super hard to find (at least near me) so I couldn't test drive one and they are like $15k more. And this car blows away the STI (at least the xdrive version which does a 4.2, and is so much nicer looking inside and out. It really shouldn't even be in consideration with this and the RS.
