Interesting, I feel with this gaming industry that has come to be you can never make everybody happy but at the same time people try to find out what if that really doesn't make any sense Yasuke has been involved in multiple games at this point so it makes no sense why people have a problem with it The only problem that I think that people should shine light on is the fact that the Netflix anime series was lackluster but that's it. Hopefully assassin's Creed do a good one with this because the last assassin's Creed I played was Odyssey I really wasn't feeling the last one like to see the game play but that's it.
I'm waiting for gameplay too. It will be like any other creed game that was made but with some new perks and additions like weapons, costumes, bonus missions, etc. These people whining about pricing and why are the characters gay, probably should start finding other things to do or they were never fans of the creed series to begin with. Just finding a reason to hate and stir up trouble. smh.
@@jjstarwind My thing is that we already knew that the price of games was going to go up That's something that was announced back when PS5 first came around, I know there was a lot of fans who didn't like the direction that assassin's Creed went when origins came out and introduced the new system. I am definitely with you on wanting to see the game play and how the story plays out because if the story plays out good I'm sold if not another assassin's Creed that I'm skipping
I wouldn't really call this straight out racism, but mistrust of corporations, which is pretty valid, as we have seen quite a lot of companies change existing IP's to line up with DEI ratings, which are often used by investors to see what companies are safe to invest. So many of those companies, in their greed, wanting their DEI ratings to go up, have changed product after product, and not even in good ways, resulting in worse products, the consumers then wanted a reason to their time and money being wasted for a dissatisfactory product, and they got their reason from channels owned by actual racists, who pointed out to the skin color of characters being changed as a reason, completely missing the actual problem, of greedy companies, hiring inadequate people for the sake of looking progressive, and compromising their intelectual properties for the sake of pleasing investors who cant find time between lavish vacations and luxurious hotels to actually put in time and effort to research their investments so they rely too much on DEI ratings, spending too much muney on those greedy companies, making following DEI ratings more profitable for those companies than putting in actual effort. A good example into this which led me to watch some of those racist channels was the Netflix Witcher adaptation, They changed the races of many of the characters, they changed the books, they disrespected the Authors vision, they disregarded the voices of Henry cavil and the Author, and now the series has been reduced by 2 seazons, so they can end it sooner. But despite most of the Audience hating on the producers and the Cast, They are just doing their Job, it was Netflix leadership which hired them. But the majority of the audience, which is comprised of mostly straight white males, just see this as Activist Producers are racist and sexist against them, see this as a personal attack and lash out. And I believe we have reached a tipping point, where too many people have seen disingenous changes, so they lash out against anything that has at least one red flag which all the previous properties had. So now, everytime people see a character of color, its woke, female lead, woke, LGBT person, woke. As for AC Shadows it deffinetly has a lot of red flags, leading to the narrative that made Yasuke a playable character, just becouse he is black, for the purpose of DEI ratings. And there is deffinelty some ground to it as no other Assassin's Creed game has had a documented historical figure as their main protagonist, and what a coincidence that the first time they do this, its a Black person instead of someone from that country. And even if they did it becouse they had a story in mind. Why Yasuke? His records of activity are so sparse, while there were many Samurai under Nobunaga, who have much more comprehensive recods of activity, an who would have made for better historical accuracy. And as for the historical accuracy being unnececarry in an AC game, AC generallly keeps history intact, there is a lot of made up bs happening at specific historical momments, but by the end of the game history is still following its real lifge course, and also, most of the historical figures, unless they become templars, assassins, or part of some other organisation, are usually kept intact, without major changes to their personality or activity from known history. This is also their first time where the main character is not someone of an ethnicity that was a majority in that part of the world, its deffinetly quite a lot of firsts, which rub a lot of people the wrong way, resulting in this massive backlash. But ultimatly what matters the most is how good the gameplay and story are. The Witcher series also had a pretty big backlash in the community for their castings, which died down the moment the first season hit the screens, and it was genuinely good. The backlash only came back after the second season aired becouse it wasn't good. so despite all the negative sentiment around Shadows, the only way for the game to be killed would be for the gameplay and story to be bad. Leading people to not buy their 130€ game ... god how come nobody is talking about this stupid price and only focusing on melanine and hormones? how the fuck can ubisoft even think of asking 130€?
Giving the track record of Ubisoft, the gameplay won't differ significantly from Valhalla. Hack and slash combat with Yasuke, stealth and parcour with Naoe.
That 130 is the deluxe edition. The standard game should still be 70 dollars. Also I heard you could play as Jack The Ripper in Syndicate as a DLC. Is he not a real person? And where was this Dei talk with AC Origins or AC Liberation? Legit question.
Jack the ripper is not really someone we know about. As the mistery of who was jack the ripper remains unsolved, so they could make any character as jack the ripper. There is even a running joke that Ghandi was Jack the Ripper becouse he came to london when Jacks killings started, and left londong when the killings ended XD which is one of the best ever coincidences ever and I want a game about it. As for the DEI outrage, it's been only recently that a lot of this stuff started comming out, and people started talking about it, with consultancy firms like Sweet Baby Inc. being put on the spotlight and scrutinized (It has been confirm that Ubi is working closely with Sweet Baby Inc.) so in the first place, Origins came out at a time where people were less sensitve towards this stuff. And secontly, Origins didn't have as many "forced diversity" red flags. The character was of an ethnicity from that part of the world at that specific time period and he wasn't a historical Character like every other mainline AC game before him. And probably the most important part, Origins was actually pretty good, not that good as an AC game, but it deffinetly was a good RPG game, I personally enjoyed my time with it. And the 130 has bonus missions like Mirage did, which were cut from the base game to sell them as extra stuff. Basically day 1 DLC. but whatever, its probably there to scare ppl into buying the subscriprion anyway, becouse we "should get comfortable not owning or games" appearantly.
@@jjstarwind lots of people think the criticism of DEI and ESG equates to white supremacy and racism. And while some people actually are, there are people, like me, who criticise those things because they genuinely believe this harms the quality of the product. Playing an Egyptian Character in Egypt, or a Greek character in Greece, makes sense. There are hundreds of Japanese historical figures they could have introduced, or they could have done a made up Japanese character, like they did before, or like Naoe. We didn't need to explore the historical setting through the perspective of an outsider before, and I don't see why we would need that now. So the only reason left for them to pick Yasuke as main character is to force in diversity. No one asked to have a white dude as a protagonist. We'd ask, even beg, for a black protagonist, if the game was set in the Zulu empire, Rhodesia, Liberia, or Punt.

There's been like a dozen of those Dynasty Warrior games though, and there's never been an AC set in Japan and fans having been requesting it for a decade.
As a white dude they threw out of their suburbanite club when they found me hanging out with the brothas, I honestly am interested in how Yasuke is gonna work within the confines of the gameplay and story and how Naoe fits into all of this. Because I think Yasuke is gonna be the brawn and the intelligence gatherer on the battlefield and Naoe is gonna be the person who uses the intel to sabotage, disrupt, redirect, and assassinate other prominent people to help aid Nobunaga's goal.
Kinda funny when people and the claimed to be "Japanese" people at ONLINE get upset about Yasuke depiction as a samurai when there are books such as "Kuro-suke", authored by a native Japanese Kurusu Yoshio that was published in 1968 or "Yasuke: The True Story of the Legendary African Samurai" published in 2019, authored by Thomas Lockley, an Associate Professor at Nihon University College of Law in Tokyo, where he teaches courses about the international and multicultural history of Japan and East Asia along with Geoffrey Girard, also an author and teaches about nonfiction, thrillers, historicals, and speculative fiction. Animes such as "Yasuke", a Japanese-American original net animation (ONA) series and animated by Japanese own animation studio MAPPA aired in 2021. Or games such as "Nioh 2" or "Samurai Warriors 5" developed by Japanese own Koei Tecma and released in 2020 and 2021 respectably; In which ALL of them depicted Yasuke as a Samurai either as an MC, secondary character or NPC and was released BEFORE AC Shadows but NOBODY get upset about those materials at all... 😅😅😅 There's is a representative for Japan in AC Shadows, and her name is Naoe, the other main character, a fictional Ninjutsu character that has a father who is actually a real historical person. If AC Shadows considered as "wokeness" Or even "racist", then I can say the same thing about AC Black Flag. Can I? Because the Caribbean is home to an extraordinary mix of cultures, unique history and heritage since the area has islands, coast lines and would be countries spread around it. There are many real life person or even legendary ones who are originated and operated in those area. We could have a man who called himself Black Caesar as the main character, a pirate captain who occasionally ran with Blackbeard, or Henri Caesar, a Haitian pirate captain who raided small villages and lone vessels near Cuba and the Bahamas along with Spanish ships for nearly a decade. And then there's Diego el Mulato Martín, a former slave from Havana, Cuba, who picked up pirate's trade and terrorized the Gulf of Mexico in the 1630s. Why not Andresote? The son of an indigenous mother and African father and the leader of some runaway slaves and Indians; who plundered, murdered along the coast of Venezuela and beyond during the era of Spanish colonial slavery. Diego Grillo, a pirate made his base on Tortuga, an island near Haiti, who once made an engagement in the Old Bahama Channel where he defeated three armed ships that attempted to capture him and killed all the Spaniards in the crew. Maybe Peter Cloise, a former slave, became a pirate after Edward Davis took him from his owner in 1679. They became close friends and went pirating in the Caribbean and along South America’s Pacific coast? But instead we get a white guy name Edward Kenway. Why a pure construct character? And I didn't saw people or even the Carribeans ruffled their feathers when Ubisoft introduced Edward Kenway as the main protagonist in AC Black Flag way back in 2013... And here I thought AC is a series that painted itself as FICTIONAL action/role playing game based on historical events from the get go. BTW, AC shadows pre-order reached #1 in Japan and several countries, #6 in the USA. So much for the claimed "Japanese" people at ONLINE who upset about Yasuke. @@Blackdragonofthewest I've never heard such nonsense in a single sentence. I mean I don't see what's illogical in stating something that isn't true and never happened, and honestly, you are the one that sounds triggered. I just enjoy pointing out hypocrisy.
Its amazing on how much bigotry is on youtube. No one had an issue with him in samurai Warriors, or the anime, or his appearance in nioh, but this is where they draw the line.
Isn't it fascinating? It's like you can't be a minority in a feudal Japanese setting game unless you are of Caucasian descent. The entitlement is over the top with these gamers.
There's is a representative for Japan in AC Shadows, and her name is Naoe, the other main character, a fictional Ninjutsu character that has a father who is actually a real historical person.
Perhaps they are just trolls to begin with...

Amazing. I knew there were pirates of color, but not THAT many pirates of color. Very well explained.
But English Caribbean pirate = good.
Black samurai = bad.
i was there when they didnt like mafia 3 because they didnt like Lincoln Clay they wanted Vito Scaletta even tho he old and lincoln was bad ass who took out the men with 3 Ks shit was fun as hell taking out racist . i dont have no problem a black samurai just i dont trust Ubisoft . i have 13 of their games i can tell you they dont make good games technology wise and they use the same game mechanics in most of their games . they also take year to fix them also every time they fix a game they break it i got watch dogs legion that game was weak as shit and i had to wait a year for something i paid for mind you i paid 120 gold ver of the game but at that time they looted the gamestop and i lose the money and had to spend money to get it PS store. also you know they didnt say anything about call of duty 2019 where you had a gay woman in the top military brass and had so many women in power from Farah Karim, Valeria Garza they said nothing and how their boy Alan Ritchson turn on them nothing from the anti-woke top guys didnt make videos on him funny how they skip that shit. this why i showed the comments on what they said they trying so hard to put yasuke like he was nothing . i found out about yasuke with kirigakure jones
Those are good points. This isn't a video merely defending Ubisoft. I acknowledge that they made bad games in the past. It's just comical for people to get butthurt just because a different race of person is taking a lead in a popular franchise. Their rebuttals are getting more and more ridiculous with each passing article or video against a minority led character.
@@jjstarwind yea that was my point they should of used the fact ubisoft should not be trusted but they need to feel good about themselves and get money from the hate views like yellowflash and a few others
@@TheCoolgame24 Right, I should make a whole list of these channels that throw stones at men of color and hide their hands afterwards acting like their neutral or cool with everybody. Should've kept their mouths and comments to themselves.
Yeah make a Mafia game without being in the Mafia! That game sucked because it had shit gameplay, not because the main character was black. Same thing will happen here, new AC games are fucking garbage.
@@skyblue2708 interesting. because Valhalla sold 20 million copies. Though its not my favorite AC game. For garbage, Creed games still coming out the download screens and shelves.
I just hope the game is good, because mirage... ighhh was baaaaddd!!! So thats all i want from.this game, that is entretaining that is fun and that gets you exited about the history of the place is placed in!!! ( like the other ones got me to investigate and read about Egypt, or Greace or England or the Renaissance!!)
it is Racism
it's sad this Anti SJW and SJW war is still going on. I hope this game succeeds just to make these people mad like Stellar Blade did.
Part of the problem is a lot SJW work at Ubisoft and know Anti SJW will react so it kind of comes off as if they are intentionally trying to poke the bear and get some kind of reaction, so Ubisoft shouldn't be free of some criticism.
We're talking about Ubisoft, that wants to get gamers comfortable not owning their games. They are loosing mone steadily for the last years and are investing more and more in marketing and less in good game developers
This ain't no Stellar Blade or Helldivers 2
Another black character is dude from Assassins Creed Black Flag dlc
Yes Adewale, Edward Kenway's harbourmaster.
Love the assassin creed games this one wont disappoint either the trifecta can go to hell
