Tavira: A picturesque town known for its historic center, which is characterized by narrow streets, traditional houses, and charming plazas. The town is located on the banks of the Gilão River and boasts several beautiful bridges, including the Roman Bridge, which dates back to the 2nd century. Tavira is also home to several historic attractions, including the Castle of Tavira, a 13th-century fortress that offers stunning views over the town and the surrounding countryside. Favorite beach? Mine was Praia da Marinha. But also Praia da Rocha.
Benagil Caves: Somehow, for everyone who goes on vacation in southern Portugal, this cave is a must-see and Instagram is full of them. And I'm telling you, all those beautiful pictures of a cute girl posing in the cave or a couple kissing without any other tourists... well, that's just good photoshopping, nothing else. Whenever you go there, there are people, sometimes more, sometimes less. In any case, it's a very beautiful place, whether you go there swimming, by kayak or by boat.
In conclusion, southern Portugal is a beautiful region that offers something for everyone, from stunning beaches and historic towns to natural parks and cultural attractions. Whether you're looking to relax on the beach, explore the region's history and culture, or simply enjoy the sun, southern Portugal is a must-visit destination.
