Tbh if this has been any other human it likely would have been severe injury or instant death cause that was a literal kick to the ribcage. So it makes sense why it was Johnson being kicked, a brute's strength is no joke lol. They should have kept this, would have displayed just how much more badass Johnson actually was.

Johnson's augments saved him in this moment (If only bungie had went through with letting this be in the base game instead of removing it) The only other marine that can compare to his durability would have been SGT. Forge who took a direct gut punch from an Arbiter (Ripa 'Moramee), and he was just a regular marine (Yeah I know the Arbiter isn't a brute, but their strength is almost comparable to a brutes, especially if you factor in Ripa's Ruthless nature, he was the most brutal Arbiter)
Hey Generalkidd, you did a video several years ago about accessing parts of assault on the control room on two betrayals, and I was on halo 1 recently and discovered that you actually can access the pulse generators on assault on the control room using the banshee. Interestingly the 2nd generator section was removed from the level, but the 1st and 3rd areas are accessible if you can clip thru the doors. If you read this comment, you should check this out, maybe even make a video showing it and give us your opinion and observations.
I'm guessing that choosing to move the camera all the way over with Chief and Arbiter for this scene is what killed the E3 version of the animation, since it wouldn't read nearly as well in a wide shot.
Looks like all the key poses are still in the files, but the inbetweens are gone. You could rebuild it pretty well with what's there. It kind of looks like the brutes holding his arm and forces him into the ground then picks him up and chucks him though, not like in the trailer where he throws him in the air and anime kicks him into the room.
