Yes, Do you not see them wearing headset mics or hear them singing??? Moa & Momo (and Yui before she left) are all amazing singers. If you want to hear Moa sing lead. checkout 'Headbanger - Moa version'.
Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse.🦊🤘🌐 Once again, it's been a while, you really take your time to come back. This was the 1st single out of five released in October 2022 (so no, it isn't new) until "The Other One" album dropped in March this year, and is a banger for sure. SuMetal got the lyrics credits on this and all of us are proud and happy she reached one of her dreams, just looking that SuMetal T pose you can notice she's really proud too. "Divine Attack - Shingeki" got some drum&bass combined with the heavy riffs of metal sound that i really love to jam. Here's some official info: Divine Attack - Shingeki (CAVALRY) _The time has come._ _Trascending many barriers and creating many legends, where will BABYMETAL head next? The power and dynamism of the song depicts a cavalry preparing for their future battle._ We can say this song bring back the spirit and message of songs like Road Of Resistance but this is more like a call to arms and fight for your future. This was part of BabyMetal Begins The Other One - Clear Night live at PIA Arena MM 2023, Yokohama, April 2nd to promote the DVD/BD released in October this year. The Western Kami Band was in charge both nights with Momoko Okazaki now crowned as MomoMetal and an official member. Black Night (April 1st) was the first night and it represents the end of old BM era, you can see them with different battle dresses (more black from Metal Galaxy era) and this Clear night is with the new iridiscent costume. The time has come to get this DVD/BD and enjoy these shows while some fans are having a blast with the Europe and UK Tour, a lot of news recently and more is coming next year. Next suggestion, actually it was released just the day prior to this one, to get a snippet of the Black Night: - MAYA official live at PIA Arena MM. The girls actually are doing some backing vocals here and in general, MoaMetal before YuiMetal left the group, used to perform, along with with her, 4 songs under the subgroup called "Black Babymetal" (SuMetal got also four solo songs), later on when she left, MoaMetal started to sing some of those songs as a solo. MomoMetal is a new official member since this concert you saw, and although she got some spotlight in the new song feat. Tom Morello - "METALI!!" she still doesn't have a solo song or at least a full section for her own like the rest of the girls, we're waiting next year for "Legend MM" live show in Yokohama celebrating her birthday and maybe she will sing the 2nd part of Headbanger!! like the other girls did during those special events. OTFGK.🙏 As for the Kami Band not getting so much screen time, they used to do that in early MV such Road Of Resistance, but the highlight of the live shows are always the girls since none of the Kami band are official members, even Momoko (now MomoMetal) or any avenger (backup dancers) back then lack of screentime bc they weren't official members, now MomoMetal got the same time as MoaMetal. If you really like the band don't worry, you'll see them more if you watch another clips or the full DVD/BD concert and of course when going to see them live, however remember they're not always the same musicians, right now they're touring with a set of Western musicians (same you saw here, except the bass player afaik). Forgot to tell you, this is a concept album and it's meant to be something we've never seen (or heard) before, with this premise, the tone of the whole album is more serious and very different from previous album (in fact this one will not follow the time line chronologically), but if you listen "METALI!!" or メタり!!feat Tom Morello, you'll notice they're going back on their roots with more playful and happy songs without losing the blend with metal elements, some fans even think "kawaii metal" is back with that song. See you next time 🦊🤘🐴

Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed this one. All your points are valid, yet mostly “inaccurate”, if you had watched this concert in its entirety. Not gonna hold that against you of course, since you were only reacting to this one song. The Kami Band will always be there with the gals. The camera’s focus in this song just didn’t show them as much. Momo and Moa, the 2 backup vocals/dancers’ does most of the choreography and leads the crowd besides backing vocals. Welcome back. "Lacklustre" is absolutely not a description I have heard said about any BABYMETAL performance ... and it is one of the most inaccurate ones. The girls (and the Kami Band) always go full out for every song in every concert - they know and appreciate people have paid a lot of money and often travelled a very long way (many of them flying to different countries) to see them and they make every effort to give them the best performance they can. I think you are just expecting to see the same format and sort of performance you will get from 99% of bands on the planet ... it can take some adjustment of your own expectations to get BABYMETAL. They don't do things the same way as everybody else, they don't follow the same format, they are pretty much unique and they do things their own way - it is just one of the things that sets them apart, one of the reasons they are popular. Their being one of the very best live acts on the planet (no I am not exaggerating - I saw many of the recognised great live bands and artists in their prime, BABYMETAL entertained me as well as any and better than most of them) is another. What you saw here was a clip from the BluRay of their concerts on 1st and 2nd April - the BABYMETAL Begins, The Other One concerts. For the BluRay the cameras' main focus is, naturally, Su-metal, Moametal and Momometal - these 3 young ladies are BABYMETAL after all and they are the show. This was where they played all 10 songs from the album for the first time (along with some of their old favourites of course). They had been on a hiatus since 2021, they returned with a couple of big shows in January, this was them getting started again after 2 years with no live shows. They used this stage set up for exactly 2 shows. The stage design reflects the OO logo from The Other One album, so the rings around the centre stage (which had extra lighting on) are also the OO infinity sign merged into a double ring. I have the BluRays - they are great, the shows they put on both nights were incredible, right up among their best shows, and the Kami Band were in plain sight to everybody there even though they are pushed back a little to the rear of the two side stages. Can you see the Kami Band in other concerts? Yes, see them in any of the venues around the world and they are right there with the girls on the more traditional stages. Yes all 3 girls sing, but Su-metal is lead vocalist. When you paused Moametal's headset mic was clearly in view. Moa and Momoko mostly provide backing vocals and harmonies, but they do the bulk of the choreo and one of their main roles is to connect with and involve the audience. Yes they always use backing track - that will have additional instruments (piano, strings, synth etc) and additional vocals (growls, screams, some harmonies the girls will have pre-recorded while they sing the main vocal lines live). BABYMETAL as just the 3 girls made their name and found an audience that nobody believed would even exist by singing and dancing to pre-recorded instrumentals on a backing track. They did that for 2 years playing shopping malls, a side stage normally reserved for comedians in the food court at a festival, tiny venues with 150 capacity and they worked their way up to bigger venues. The Legend 1997 concert in December 2013 had a sold out crowd of 8 or 9000 people - the Kami Band only played the 5 encore songs at that show. They had no Kami Band at all for 2 years. They first appeared in October 2012 and from there they played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and it was still another 18 months - so 3.5 years from when BABYMETAL started - before the Kami Band became their full time support for all live shows starting from the Budokan shows in March 2014. BABYMETAL needed the Kami Band in order to move to that next level, in order to become a successful international act and BABYMETAL needed and got the very best musicians ... but the main talent was always and still is Su-metal, Moametal, Yuimetal and now Momometal.
If you want to see the band just watch there live versions of there songs with Kami band intro's every band member get's there solo up front and center
Good one, thanks! And no ONE is going to beat you. 😁 As much I stan Su-metal (the lead singer) I'd like to see the band more too. But in this kind of big format concerts it's quite difficult since they use some crazy stages and so on. The thing is that BABYMETAL is the three ladies and the band (Kami Band) is supporting them. So, the Blu-ray focuses mainly on the three members. On "normal" and smaller venues like where they perform on tour, the band is right behind them and you can see them perfectly. Also, they wear masks and we don't like it either. Moa and Momoko provide backing vocals and are on charge of the crowd interaction. That's the reason why they may be closer to the audience in a certain moment but it all depends on the choreo. Su goes to the front and back also depending on the choreo. Until next time! 🤘🦊
I totally agree the Kami band should be much more visible and without the masks. I do not agree with the 'lackluster' comment. Like them or hate them, there is nothing boring about Babymetal. There are certainly fans who are all about the band and do not care much about what the girls are doing so you are not alone. Of course there are the opposite types who pay no attention to the band and only to the girls.
I don't think you can see the double kicks or any musicians doing their stuff in a concert even though it's a very small venue and you're in the center front. Those sounds are for people to hear, not for people to see, aren't they?
I always enjoy your reactions. Honest and thoughtful. I'll try to keep this from becoming too scattered. First of all both of Su's fellow bandmates do sing along with dancing. It's a bit complicated do to a period where one of the original "girls" retired for health reasons. Leaving for a time only one back-up singer. Babymetals more recent presentations-at least the BIG ones do seem to keep the band more in the background. Smaller shows the band shares the stage with the ladies-who are now back up to all three singing. I'll have to paraphrase these quotes. The original band for Babymetal was/is called the Kami band. The ladies have said "they always felt like the Kami band was back there protecting them and supporting them." The Kami band for its part said-and again having to paraphrase "We love the girls because of them we have gotten out of Japan and been able to play concerts and festivals around the world." So there is a lot of respect there. Here's a link to a live concert which features a great intro from the Kami band. It is called YAVA. It's meaning is open to interpretation but the song is a helluva lot of fun, enjoy: ruclips.net/video/eBoAL6dCWF4/видео.html
The other girls are Moa and Momo are known as Scream and Dance and are backup vocalists. The Band isn't Babymetal just Suzuka the lead singer, Moa and Momoko.
BABYMETAL still has some great songs and I want you to listen to a variety of them. For you guitarists out there, I recommend "Rord of Resistance" Live in Japan Rond of Nightmare " Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro Live at Budokan
Their last album The Other One from which this song is part of is a concept album. This album highlights Su-metal's vocals. So Moa and Momo do not have much vocal participation but they do backing vocals hence the headset mikes. What i love about BABYMETAL is how humble they are with no egos. You will see BABYMETAL perform mostly in the inverted V formation with Su standing in the back. The few times in some songs such as Night Night Burn you will see Moa taking center when she does her vocals, or Momo in Metali taking center when doing her Kabuki performance and scream. BABYMETAL are showcased and not the Kami Band (session players), specially on their DVDs but they are present at all the live shows. They have some songs where they are highlighted in the intros where each has a solo. One if my favourite videos where you can see the Kami Band is in Gimme Chocolate performed at the Steven Colbert Show. If you react to it you will probably have to blur it because it usually gets insta-blocked.
they can't help it that all the cameramen love them, anyway 99% of their shows are on smaller stages, where the band is right there with them, interacting with the girls all show long.
Pretty sure the cameras are mostly "choreographed" before the show even starts (the same way they do it in movies but that's just my guess) Some songs focus more on the girls, while in others the band is highlighted (like in MAYA or METALIZM)
The concert vids for Red Night/Black Night Tokyo Dome 2016 do a great job of showing off the Kami Band (including Mikio). 55K fans per night. Incredible stage. On the flip side, there’s Gimme Chocolate live on Steven Colbert-can’t get much smaller than that stage.
You have to think of BABYMETAL performances like Michael Jackson performances for example. Yes the musicians are phenomenal but the singers and dancers are the main focus. Also calling this performance lackluster is pretty weird but everyone is ofcourse entitled to their opinions.
Man it's been so long I almost unsubscribed you. Yes the two backup singers are equipped with headset microphones. A couple of great solos by Moa Kikuchi (the one on your right) will show you that she is a vocal talent in her own right. i hear in japan theres a certain etiquette for concerts. they dont really sing along as it disrupts the show for others and you should pay attention to the main singer so the 2 dancers help with letting the crowd know when and how to participate without that disruption.
They used to highlight the players way more. But then there were a lot of changes in the band. One of the long time guitarists passed away. The touring schedule conflicted with their usual musicians and they incorporated a new band for overseas tours. After that, the band started wearing masks and were more in the background. Which is a shame, because these guys are god tier. Saw them in October, and it was mind blowing. They did get an intro where each of the members had a solo, but I'm sad I don't really know what any of the guys look like. I'm left trying to identify them based on their preferred instruments. I understand the shift, I just don't like it. They are really so so good. As far as the girls, the formation, I think, stresses that Moa and Momo are more than just backup dancers. They are important members of the group. They have mics and they do sing, but less so in more recent stuff. I'm hoping that changes with the next album. Momo already had a highlight on their newest song Metali. BabyMetal was a duo for a while after Yui left and Momo only became official in April. I think with the group restored to its original trio, there will be more from the other girls, tho Su will always be the main focus. Moa and Momo are not replaceable, tho. They can't be swapped out with just anyone. They are beloved and integral members of the group, so they get to be up front a lot. It's not the Su show. It's BabyMetal. The most recent album was different. It was BabyMetal, but it was super experimental. A concept album. Honestly, it was a bunch of undeveloped songs that had been accumulating for years and pulled out and dusted off to be reworked because the girls had been on hiatus and the future of the band was a little uncertain for a minute I think. I think they even say The Other One was album 3.5. It was a reintroduction after hiatus with the cemented membership. The next album is supposed to be their Next Album. That said, it's a good album. It's cohesive. It give hints of their new direction. It's promising. There are songs on other albums I like better, but as a whole, it's pretty impressive. Welcome back to the Fox Hole. 🤘🦊🤘
I'm a big fan of Babymetal. I regret that there is minimal space for the band and the crowd when processing the LIVE performance. It's a bit of a shame to only watch girls. I think it loses a lot of the power of the great experience that is during the concert. It wasn't like that with earlier concerts and that's why I enjoy watching older concerts more. I mean the years 2015-2017
I wouldnt call this lackluster but I do get your frustration with the band being hidden. That is a recent development. If you want to see the band highlighted check out Rondo of Nightmare with the Kami band Intro. If you want to hear the sheer virtuosity of the band check out the live version of Tales of the Destinies. It was only played live once. It is one of my favorites and the level if musicianship is god tier from the whole band. Great reaction, do more babymetal soon please. I am going to the link on your sight to hear some original music from you. Its not really surprising but the country fans do a really good job reacting to Babymetal, I think it cones from your intimate familiarity with the logistics of performing live. Anyway Im onnmy way to check out some of your original music
the dancers are wearing microphones. They do sing as well as shout/talk to the audience. Seeing the band would certainly be expected/predictable, and there are songs from them that feature the instumentalists. However, what sets this production apart are the frontwomen. Without them, it's just another band.
Well that's the good thing about Babymetal going on their world tours because you get to see all that with the band as far as the concerts Babymetal does in Japan it varies depending on how their production team designs the stage but you have to remember the band is called Babymetal not KAMI BAND Who is babymetals backing band when Babymetal's production team designs The stage It's more about showcasing the girls in the best way possible and being able to see the KAMI BAND does vary from show to show and as far as them being lackluster I would never ever use that in any description of Babymetal Babymetal have been on their world tour since last spring They have been through Europe twice once supporting SabatonThey went through Asia and the US and have received nothing but rave reviews for all of their shows throughout the tour go see Babymetal live and then tell me how lackluster their shows are
It has been said but is worth repeating, Babymetal started out believing in what they were doing when nobody else would. Back when they started, their first song Doki Doki Morning elicited laughter from the audience. They played exclusively to backing tracks because they could not afford musicians. It took nearly 4 years until they had a band full time. It took two years before they had money to buy costumes to perform in - they had to provide their own until then. At the roots, Babymetal is the three young ladies. That being said, I do wish the band were more prominent, and a lot of fans agree, but they go their own path. The musicians are more prominent in person; there is so much going on at a Babymetal concert it's almost sensory overload. The camera only captures a part of the experience. Lackluster us seldom used in conjunction with a Babymetal performance, they go all out. But this is not their strongest song. Check out Metali - their is a live version from Summer Sonic 23, and Babymetal said when they released it that it was Babymetal reborn. If that is their direction I am all for it.
Might I suggest that you change your thumbnail? I depicts Su-metal, Moametal, and Yuimetal but Yui has nothing to do with this song. One might consider it a misleading thumbnail.
BABYMETAL are the three women. . The band are session musicians. Hired guns. That’s why they aren’t highlighted. It might not please some fans but that’s the way it is.
Lol. You're soooo wrong. Yes, it's true that they do not have Amuse contracts, they are NOT hired guns. They are an important and valued part of BM and the girls have said this many times. Maybe, you should do some research before opening your cake hole kid.
Calling this a lackluster performance is laughable, especially form a country fan. In country music they literally stand in 1 spot and pretend to play guitar for every song. Go away hater.

That date is for the dvd/blu-ray. This song came out late last year i think...
they can't help it that all the cameramen love them, anyway 99% of their shows are on smaller stages, where the band is right there with them, interacting with the girls all show long.
It's especially true that for the first time performances of a song for Blu-ray that they choose to highlight the ladies new dance.
Pretty sure the cameras are mostly "choreographed" before the show even starts (the same way they do it in movies but that's just my guess)
Some songs focus more on the girls, while in others the band is highlighted (like in MAYA or METALIZM)
Exactly!😀

Subscribed. An awesome performance!! 🦊 🖖❤
agree
Man it's been so long I almost unsubscribed you. Yes the two backup singers are equipped with headset microphones.
A couple of great solos by Moa Kikuchi (the one on your right) will show you that she is a vocal talent in her own right. Two links to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performances below (watch on your own if you wish)

i hear in japan theres a certain etiquette for concerts. they dont really sing along as it disrupts the show for others and you should pay attention to the main singer so the 2 dancers help with letting the crowd know when and how to participate without that disruption.
