- Yes, finally! Its here at last! Been so long in lockdown I'd almost forgotten the joys of overnight wild camping and in such beautiful woodlands too.
The sights, sounds and smells of the woods are all the more enhanced because its just simply been so long. Feels just like being reunited with an old friend going back into these woodlands.
I had a particularly great time on this camp, so naturally the video is a LONG one! I do hope you enjoy watching, and a massive thank you for doing so.

Been very busy looking after my parents, moving from the Black Country down to Coventry, then to find another career. It'll take a while to find a woodland that's suitable for wild camping as Coventry is pretty urban compared to my old address.

Untill meeting my parnter who has a son with autsim I thought people with autsim missed out. But in the two years I have know her son he has shown me it is fact the other way round people without autism are missing out on those with it. Happy camping boys and good health and happiness to you.

I don't normally comment, I have knives but I don't love them, those scales you made are absolutely beautiful, I assumed it was a limited edition, came here for the hammock review and watched a 1hr 40 video 😂, loved it, you can spread mayo on the bread instead of making the traditional egg mixture, would work well for camping it's how the yanks do it

Yes mate I've been very busy looking after my parents, moving away from my home town and finding a new job. All settled in now and trying to find somewhere I can wild camp is taking lots of time as it's far more urban down here unfortunately.

Mate really sorry to hear you are going through a divorce, I know what its like that's one of the reasons I started filming my wild camping and chatting away my thoughts and feelings. There's definitely healing powers out there as you probably already know.

Thanks, yes just been a very hectic few months and filming has had to go on pause.
Where I live now is far more urban than where i used to live, I'd spent years finding my old wild camping locations. As you know mate it takes time to find appropriate woodlands to film and camp, so I'll be doing plenty of recces in the very near future 😀 👍🌳🌳🌳

Hi mate, thank you, just me being me and trying my best to convey the peacefulness off the woodlands and along with whatever was on my mind at the time of filming.
I shall return at some point, I've come to the realisation that I'm going to have to travel back to the Black Country to my old camp locations to continue. Where I live now there really isn't any suitable woodlands and there's no way on earth I'm going to do permissioned camping as its not my thing.

I so needed your new video this week. I guess you see from the news that the US is not really faring so good during this lockdown for reasons I won't go into.....I have very strong opinions about things but tend to get myself frustrated because it's all really beyond my control.
In any case, it's so good to see you back after a bit and looking even healthier. I'm glad you have weathered this virus and lockdown getting even more fit. I on the other hand have gotten more fat and sassy I think 😜. But you've given me some motivation to get back on track and be more cognizant of my stress eating and and being such a sloth.
As always I love the surroundings you've chosen for your wild camp. So relaxing and tranquil to be surrounded by bubbling streams and brooks and so much green 🌱🌿 and the trees 🌲🌳 which I love so much. The field of ferns was amazing. Don't think I've ever seen something so lovely. I absolutely appreciate the time, effort and energy you put into creating these videos for us. Makes me feel I am right in the frame with you following your directions on equipment and everything you see surrounding the area. You are very creative and artistic about them which is always such a treat.
I'm always fascinated watching you tie off cords and knots and rigging up your tents, canvases and hammocks with such ease.

@@BlackCountryWoodsman well actually Mike I'm in the process of moving to a place less than a mile from the norfolk broads so I have seen some very forested areas on the map there with small rivers and streams that look buried deep in the woods.
You are looking fit and healthy Mike but like me the flecktarn could be covering up a few "additional" pounds 🤔😁. I hope that you, your family and parents are ok Mike. That is a wonderful woodland walk in and I was as good as with you there throughout the video such is your welcoming, down to earth demeanour Mike. That hammock, under quilt and tarp combo looks great and I am definitely going to have a look at that hammock as it looks great and is a different hang to the DD. I still have my old pre 2012 DD Frontline hammock and DD 3 x 3 tarp. Looking now to upgrade the tarp to the 4.5 metre x 3 metre for better hammock coverage. I like the stove Mike, works well. It is lovely down here in Cornwall, we have been on many beaches, here, but there is so many, it would take a life time to see every cove an beach, but we been trying lol
We have thanks to you been inspired to get back to woods an forests, which we used to enjoy in the Midlands, Clent, being my partners fav, so we hitting the woods here, an like the beaches there is some cracking woodland.
So we out there now during all our free tine, we might even throw in a bit of wild camping, when we get some kit together... Just started watching and I'm now subscribed. Only comment I have so far is that you might want to look into getting a microphone that you can attach to your collar or jacket so that it picks your voice up better, sometimes hard to hear you when you're away from the camera or next to water.

Also, I notice you do 'true wild camping' by using non-permission sites. All credit to you. My opinion is that permission sites are the same as commercial campsites - with trees in!

The new camp stove is quite interesting, but I think I’ll stick to the ones I have. My Trangia 25 cookset works really well in the summer winds we get on the Oregon beaches.
Us humans being under lockdown made a little paradise for wildlife here. The whole coast they shut down in Oregon. Very sad for me. I didn’t just lose weight I lost muscle mass and agility. Hiking is my exercise. Well, it’s my own fault. No need to play the victim.
You’re looking very fit and healthy, Mike. Taking off some excess pounds will probably add some months or years or improve your quality of life. I hope 🤞!

Another splendid video. I clicked on it as I own this hammock & underquilt, for 3 years they have been my Go to. I'll only say that the ridge line adjuster is not as strong as it could be. I was wondering, why the diamond formation for your tarp? Is it personal preference? All the best 😎

I use the diamond configuration if the tarp is on the smaller side, plus it's quicker to set up due to less anchor points to the ground.
