I think the state and Tenessee games are going to look a lot like texas and i know thats going to frustrate a lot of fans… but thats okay we have to learn how to win that type of game
I Have to slightly disagree with Gabe on its an 8 man rotation. Sure you have 8 regulars but there is still 3 to 4 different guys they sprinkle in there on a game to game basis based on what the matchup dictates, so its more like 11 man rotation with 8 for sure going to play.
Josh Gray's defense on pick and rolls has been a ton better than I expected. Gates has been saying he's one of the best in the country in that area, and I'm thinking he might be right. The Perkins thing I think is because Robinson has been so much better than expected, along with the injury. Same for Shaw - he's losing minutes because Pierce is so much better on both sides of the ball. So the disappointments are mostly due to the other guys improvements. Competition is a good thing.
The reason you can't really tell which teams are the best is because every team plays the same way. They shoot so many 3 point shots and the team that makes them wins. But just like Mizzou st Texas. They didn't make them so they lost. Any team at any time in the sec can get hot and win the game or go cold and lose. Remember two years ago when Mizzou got knocked out of the ncaa tournament. They couldn't throw one in the ocean. It's just a game of HoRSe.
I'm worried about Perkins and Warrick. It's understandable they aren't playing (or in Perkins case he's playing but seeing less offense). Neither are great rebounders and Warrick is not the best defender. Also Mizzou's shooting is running hot so obviously Gates is going to run offensive for that around Peirce/Bates/Grill. That's not Perkins or Warricks game (yes Warrick has been shooting well this year but it's historically not been his strong suit). However I'm worried that if Mizzou faces a team that has a big that matches up well against Mitchell and the shooting runs cold where is the offense? Neither Trent, Tamar nor Caleb are drive first wings. This is where I think Perkins and Warrick need to step up. Yes it's nice to drown Florida and Ole Miss with threes but if you look at the way Mizzou drowned Kansas & 2H Cal it was completely different. Question is if Mizzou is asked to go back to that kind of offence on bad shooting nights is it still going to be there after the long layoff? Thoughts?
Honestly not sure. Annor is obviously the biggest candidate but if Gates can point to pierce as an example and also Bates and Grill are leaving maybe Annor sticks. Other 3 are all getting minutes and seem satisfied but don't really seem like high $ NIL guys either. Burns is a question mark but you can't really consider him a freshman this year.
Mike Anderson teams wanted to wear out the competition running up and down the court and with a full court press the entire game. He was very successful until the tv time outs began every four minutes of the game which gave the other team time to rest and catch their breath. These time out lasted at least three minutes and ruined his style of forty minutes of hell.
The rebounding has been a pleasant (and important) area of improvement. I think a few of them have set a good example for the rest.
Almost nothing has gone how I thought it was this year in the best way possible
I'm putting Missouri at #3 in the SEC...And what I say...GO's

Perkins is a really good defender as well

we will definitely lose some of these freshman next year to the transfer portal

@@UntilYouCollapse Pierce still played more than Annor is playing this year but like you said hopefully they do not leave
@@MikeMovila i mean pierce is a good example of someone that was almost nothing as a freshman but has put it together as a sophomore.
