CNN, BBC et al., I suggest you listen carefully to what is said here. Jerusalem is no longer "on the table". It is, it was and always will be, the united capital of the State of Israel. He makes an important point. The Palestinians' desire to have eastern Jerusalem as their capital is irrelevant. It has never been the capital of anything, so what gives them the right to claim it? Because it's the third holiest site in Islam? In that case, they can do better than Jerusalem; they should claim Mecca as their capital.

The eternal City of Jerusalem should never be divided. Dividing this holy city would be disastrous and would lead to even more divisions and hostilities, fuelling even more animosity and distrust. By the same token, Palestinians living in East Jerusalem should be afforded the same rights as their Jewish brethren. They must not be made to feel like second class citizens.
We don't have palestinians as second class citizens. Palestinians are not israelicitizens and never will be. We do have 1.9 million arab israelis who are full israeli citizens like any other

So what are you suggesting? That all the Arabs in Israel and the occupied territories should all leave and move to other countries? It is true that the land of Israel is the historic Homeland of the Jewish people. However, other people have lived there as well,. especially during the 2000 years that the Jews were mostly absent. There have been Arabs in that region for centuries, and it has been their home too. The Balfour Declaration even clearly stated that the rights of the people already living in the land (the Arabs) should be respected. They have just as much of a right to be there as the Jews.
