I know it's supposed to say "Guts Shoot" but I somewhat misread that as "Get Shot", like Megaman just pulls out a Glock and just shot Protoman in the forehead
GutsShoot was _the_ single-damage Program Advance in MMBN1. 2 would then proceed to give you stronger options via Arrows and Heavy Stamp. Well, also Gater, but that requires Megachips, which you have a limited amount of slots for.
BN2 really was _incredibly_ kind to PAs. Even a bunch of the really bad ones got more tolerable to use, reduced chip limit aside. Anyway, Life Sword's another good BN2 staple. Certainly leagues better than the Beta Sword P.A. Have been quite liking Gater recently, though.
The Standard, Mega and Giga chip categories didn't show up until Battle Network 3. Battle Network 1 and 2 treated Navi chips the same as the regular ones.
G gutshoot deck carries you to the end game but the primary chips are too weak to get good clears through area 13-16 with almost no great options to beat down bass or lifevirus
Just went through BN 1 not three days ago and I went with a very similar P.A. I personally went with BgStrait Folder. It uses 8 of each GutsPnch B, IcePunch B, and Dash B for getting the P.A. After that, get 4 Gutsman V3, 1 Bass, and one HeroSword. The Navi chips are for easy and fast clears. Bass kills everything, and Gutsman cripples enemy zone so much that they become sitting ducks. HeroSword (Or whichever the G code sword was) was a 1 chip P.A., basically. BgStrait does 250 as opposed to 500, but it damages the entire colum instead of stopping at the first enemy hit, which is much better for clears. In BN 1, you *definitely* want to go for a P.A. folder, as it's the only time in the series you can have a limit of 10 chips of each kind, not to mention not ever need healing since our H.P. restores itself at the end of the fights. Something else I prefer about this folder is that it doesn't use Guard, which is a pretty bad chip in BN 1. Situationally, you can punch blocks and obstacles into the enemies for good damage or just hit them in the face. Since you only have ONE Folder, you need it to be the jack of all trades, but for particularly hard bosses, you still may want to go with the 500 P.A.
I've been doing just fine, the only problem is s-ranking viruses htat you need particular chips from, for that you need to switch to sharkman, elecman or whatever. GutsShoot lets you easily S-rank all these, though
@Skeptic jhonny outlined big straight but an L unicode deck with anubis, mcannon, trilance, and ice cube is a good option. Ice cube is a 200 damage timestop sword and auras will hurt themselves on it. I go on and off using 2x bass F in there Wave A, drain1/2/3 A is good but takes forever to put together If u start composing unicode decks with the gaia chips you can do a lot of damage.

@Dharengo it's not that, he's talking about the dash chip. Only does 50 here and there is nothing stronger, guard chip is weak and is only out for a fraction of a second, gutsman is pretty good. Other then gutsman you shouldn't be using any of those other chips in a fight as an option, only the advance unfortunately
