NLP Trainer Ram Verma speaks about empowering and bringing a change in one's life through simple exercises.
Ram Verma is an eminent NLP trainer in India. He has been empowering people for the last one and a half decades. He has the biggest ever exposure of making change in the lives of people across the country. Since 2001, he has conducted his NLP and Brain mapping workshops in different part of the country. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the study of what works in thinking, language, and behavior. Mr. Verma has addressed more than four lac people through his various courses, of which more than ten thousand have enjoyed his fire-walk workshops.

Despite the audio problems, Mr. Verma presented a brilliant approach to using the NLP logical levels to invoke change. I am a mind coach, hypnotist and NLP trainer, and can spot a nugget such as the concepts Mr. Verma introduced. Thank you and keep up the good work.

@@rahaul4u Dear Vinayak, what is known as hypnotherapy has traditionally been used to place a person into a hypnotic trance and give the person suggestions or even instructions to effect change in the subconscious mind and consequently therapeutic change. The role of the hypnotherapist and the client are known and there is somewhat an expectation of change taking place.
NLP was developed as a modeling discipline where practitioners who excel in their field are modeled (the way they work is formalized into a process and refined so that it can be taught to others to use). It happened that the first group of people modeled were the therapists Virginia Satir, Fritz Perls, Milton Erickson, and a few others. Of these only Milton Erickson was a hypnotherapist who is the source of the hypnotic language patterns in NLP. Since then, NLP has been used to model people who have excelled in other fields including business, education, self-development, etc.
Both NLP and hypnotherapy work on the subconscious mind. NLP has also been used within hypnosis sessions for powerful results. NLP can also be used to induce hypnosis, although NLP on its own can be considered a hypnotic process as a person goes into their own imagination (and therefore, their subconscious) and recreate their world differently for change to happen. NLP can penetrate into the subconscious of some very skeptical clients who would be hard to hypnotize using traditional methods.
Personally, learning hypnosis provided depth to my understanding of how NLP works. Learning both Hypnosis and NLP can equip you for more successful therapy sessions.

The sound is not great but with earbuds, it's ok. Maybe some comments say this is not real NLP but I actually went through the process shown in this video. I did not do the whole stepping thing and it took about a couple of years. I saw what was not working for me, where the disconnect was between what I wanted and what I had, what changes I had to make, etc. I am still in the process of getting exactly where I want to be but at least I know exactly what it is and how to get there.
I cleared my mind and tried programming a better audio quality...it didn’t work.

Nothing against Ram Verma but this doesn't give a good demonstration of how NLP works. I think many people will watch this and think this isn't going to work for them especially when he's just telling his demonstration subjects to "Create a powerful belief around..." To understand NLP and use it effectively you need to understand the programming that creates beliefs and how to navigate it and rewire it. Simply telling someone to change their belief or create a better belief doesn't usually work and that's why we learn and practice NLP, to understand how it works so we can change it.
It seems he was not prepared well , he lacks the connect in this talk .

I am extremely interested to know more about NLP. I happen to find a wonderful plaftorm to find unique personalities. I am indebted to TEDX and the speaker.
"What you need to do" means "What I need you to do" it's called a referential index shift in NLP's meta-model.
He really sold me with the part he told us he has been working with people in Bollywood!

Interesting video, the poor sound quality and lack of visual aids make it painful to watch. I do agree that there is an amount of significant results in mind-programming, as marketers have A-B tested things like NLP for years. To call it a pseudoscience would ignore the factual evidence behind its marketing. Scott Adams had said, and I quite agree: "90% of NLP is marketing, 10% is real and very powerful" Distill NLP to its core concepts and you have a lean and effective method of communication.
It seems that nowadays there are so many techniques sold for finding happiness avoid suffering and reach success. Just another holy show and way to make money.

If you came here looking to learn the conceptual frameworks and techniques used by NLP, I suggest looking up "What is NLP & How Does It Work? Neuro Linguistic Programming Basics". This video appears to just be a long, rambling (and unsuccessful in my case) attempt by someone to use a single NLP technique on his listeners, with poor sound quality to boot.

I am a NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programmer & a Hypnotist.

(This just happened to me a minute ago!)
I am getting in shape and losing weight. I have used NLP/self-hypnosis to (talk to myself) to Eat right, Exercise, and NOT to eat anything that is not good for my body. I have a LIST of what I can not eat. I have instructed my subconscious mind to hate the taste of what is on my list of what not to eat.
I went to the store and bought store bought cookies. Cookies are not the problem. Anything with PRESERVATIVES... I could eat a cookie that I made from scratch... but not a store bought cookie.
So a few minutes ago... I decided I was going to eat that cookie...
I tried...
It tasted really funny
and almost made me sick to my stomach... I could NOT finish the cookie!!! YUCK
This is how I help clients to STOP SMOKING too!
I thought ... dany it... I did self hypnosis to NOT eat junk food.
My Subconscious KNEW that cookie was not good for me... and it did what I instructed it to do... make me NOT want the cookie...
YeaH... NLP/Hypnosis works.

Trying to focus- I find the Indian accent really hard to concentrate on.
We find your accent difficult too. Try to learn.
I really appreciate his efforts but being an expert Body Language and NLP expert, i would say , had he communicated in language easy for him instead of english, his ability to motivate and change would have enhanced multi folds. Here , his focus ,his efforts are divided ,affecting grossly the impact he is trying to achieve over the audience and viewers. Anyways, it was good to listen to him.

Good Effort but as NLP Trainer myself I think you should go more methodical way for even layman's as well describing all the theories first from scratch and then their application to theory
Criticism should best come from someone who can express an idea clearly, with some sense of proper sentence structure and grammar.
I hope your communication skills have improved since that comment.....

A big Ted talk on pseudoscience
Neuro linguistics has been discredited and it consider at pseudoscience at best, and a cult at worst. I am disappointed that TED would promote this content.
