The chorus reminds me of an early 2000's Women's shaving product commercial, Cheetah Girls and or a Bratz theme song! Even the billboard gave me Britney Spears Pepsi commercial. I loved the nostalgic sound and they looked incredible!
They are referencing multiple goddesses/Greek figures I think that's why you're confused. They reference Medusa a lot (if you *Look* at Medusa you will turn to stone, King Midas *Touches* and turns things to gold, so they're kind of mixing it.) There are references to Hera and Venus in their styling. Also the myth of King Midas goes that though he wished because of greed to turn anything he touched into gold but it was literally EVERYTHING he touched which ended up obviously being a curse for him; he tried to smell flowers and they turned to gold, he accidentally touched his own daughter and she turned to gold, etc. So I think they've twisted it around to be a curse to the person that lusts after them (in the beginning the guy kinda seems to be following Haneul in an isolated underground area, almost as if he's stalking her which is a little scary, they've already referenced in the last comeback killing a guy in self defense because he tried to force himself on her, so this isn't a stretch that he's following/stalking her because he thinks she's pretty and then she turns him to stone...which kind of ties into some of the other lyrics like it being dangerous to try to pursue them and them being toxic. It also ties into the 2nd single which starts: "First of all I would've never looked back at you. I would've never looked (looked, Medusa) back at you if you didn't chase me (chase, greed, King Midas was greedy). If you didn't chase me (the guy following her) I wouldn't be with you, No, no, I would not be with you." basically there's a lot of double and triple entendres in this (with their music they have the golden touch, but if they actually touch you romantically it will also be the golden touch, but their touch is also like Medusa and they have the power to turn you to stone/destroy you OR bring you back to like like Belle does in the one scene where she turns the guy back from stone to living... because their name is literally Kiss of Life and that's the meaning of their name as well :) Love this comeback it's amazing IMO and so fun as well as very thought out, they really ate💖
