I'm watching this in 2022 after having decided to work on skills that will help me connect more meaningfully with people, which is what me a lot of others out there need. One of the masters of using audience dialogue in storytelling is the comedian Jim Gaffigan. He has developed this character that represents the inner dialogue of the audience responding to his jokes, and he sprinkles that dialogue throughout his sets. The voice that he uses is hilarious, and the commentary is some of the funniest content of his shows. For example, after telling a series of food-related jokes, he might switch into the audience dialogue voice and say, "Is this fat guy going to tell nothing but food jokes all night?" The audience invariably erupts into laughter at these points.

All I can say is wow, amazing stuff especially for someone your age. I wish I had half that knowledge at that point in my life. I tell a story that takes the audience back into the 80's but obviously some of them were not part of the 80's but it is related to my story and the speech. How can I draw everyone into the 80's with a quick opening line? Comments from all would be appreciated. Thanks!

Starbucks coffee is not particularly good, arguably it's not good at all, but worse than that, the staff usually ask "would you like to try our South American blend today" but do not tell you that it will cost more. In other words, they have no conscience about deceiving customers. Very good talk though. Worth watching all the way through.

You're speaking very fast. This shows that the speech is memorized. Slow down, a slight pause allow the listeners to soak in some of the good content you're delivering.

Your workshop has good content, but your delivering is not engaging. You need to work on your personal style, try to do good pauses to create ambience, expectation. Let your audience to understand your message, to follow you with passion and real interest. Moves the audience's energy, take them in a journey of discovery and learning, dramatize your stories with powerful and convenient gestures that reinforce your posture and your delivery. Lead your audience to live your stories as if they were there.
Erich Fromm's "Marketing Character" is all that comes to my mind here... Sorry, I don't find the speaker as authentic as I expect a true storyteller to be... Far too much product selling for my liking... It seems to me that there is no real dialogue here and far too much cold LOGOS. Yet not enough (true) ETHOS and (genuine) PATHOS (see Aristotle)...
