This is the closest I’ve ever heard of someone replicating Simon’s live sound. Could you go into more detail on how someone else would repeat it, chorus and delay effect settings etc. Many thanks and great playing!

Thanks! I have a fender downtown express multi effect which I practically use for every song I play. It has 3 effects, compressor, equalizer, and over drive. For this song I used a heavier overdrive which also has tone, drive, and level settings that you need to adjust. If I remember correctly I also used a delay effect, not too much to get the echo but just enough to get the wha sound. Hope this helps. The fender effect is good for studio recordings. For live gigs it doesn’t have true throughput if you turn off all the effects and reduces the sound of your bass🤘

@@LovePeaceBass This is actually really helpful thankyou. I don’t have that particular effects unit but I will try to replicate the sound with my zoom multi effects pedal. I really love his live sound, it’s very unique, never heard anyone get so close to that on here

    Nice Cover.
It looks like hey plays the dm7 on the E String to the A with a swiping motion

Thanks, are you talking about the end of the song when he plays the 10th fret of the E string? I think I play just like him😜

    Is chorus or flanger?

There are multiple factors to getting the right tone including bass and amp settings. Simon is definitely using a chorus effect to get that deep sound. I don’t have a chorus pedal, I used the fender downtown express multi effect and an analog delay pedal to mimic the sound 🤘
