I used a multi effect pedal with EQ, compressor, and overdrive

Hi JD, thanks! I used Fender Downtown Express for compressor and EQ. Don’t remember the exact settings of the EQ and compression but I played around with those settings to get as close as possible to a fretless sound. Also my strings were about 7 years old at that time. With old strings you get warmer sound. 🤘

Great cover, mate!!! I just subscribed. One question: did you isolate the original bass track? Are we listening only to your bass or both basses? Thanks. Very interesting to see someone not playing this using a pick. Apparently this is an easy song to play, but it is hard to keep perfect consistency the whole song, at least for me.

This is great, thank you! One thing I always loved about this song is how chords change from chorus #1 to chorus #2 - most people will probably not even notice it if they don’t try playing the song. In that sense I feel Robert Smith composed it with a similar approach to what he did on the instrumental guitar parts of “Play for Today”.
