I love the small scale of this zoo, it does feel extremely cozy. Would love to hang out inside the River house for a good hour just watching all these critters. Well done!
This build just blows me away. You are a master builder Toves. The latest addition to my zoo were Aardvarks. I previously thought they were boring but I really enjoyed putting together a habitat for them.
I'm so impressed with how you knew exactly what piece you wanted to use to finish off the bridge lol you can tell you know the game suuuper well! Als I really loved the tropical walls you first did, I hope you get to use them later on 🥰
Yep! San Diego is the only Zoo in America to have one, its something to do with they don't travel well when being transported I believe. And not a bad build only problem is Platypus are nocturnal so they'd probably hide all the time during the day its why San Diego has a full indoor platypus exhibit so you can see them even during day due to it being dark in there so they don't hide
Yeah I thought it was San Diego. Thanks very much, yeah the indoor section I have is designed so as to be dark for them, there's no windows in there at all. Also interestingly when I saw Platypus in the wild we spotted them in the day. You're right though, largely nocturnal I think, so this is one of those cases where I tried to balance realism and fun a bit
Clicked on this so fast mate. This zoo is a triumph! 🦅💛 my little friend the platypus! My mum lives in Tasmania out in the bush and she has a wild platypus that lives in her dam.
You would be right saying that San Diego is the only holder of platypus outside of Australia! It is actually the San Diego Zoo safari park that keeps them. Gorgoues build as always bud. I would love to see you do something to the habitat that would go along with the fact that they are so rare in zoos, so somethings that celebrates that you have them. That would be awesome!
So cool you’ve seen them in the wild! Great build as always! I was wondering, how much of your habitats do you plan on paper so to speak? Do you have everything sorted before you start building or are you designing as you go? I’ve just finished my platypus habitat which I’m very pleased with but 5 mins into this I can already see yours is better 😆
Thanks very much dude, that's very generous of you! I'm sure yours is great. No, I don't plan anything to be honest. I tend to get a bit of a picture in my head but everything is pretty much organically developed as I go. I think the initial idea of this one was just that I'd have the nocturnal space and that you'd be able to view them at double height in the lower underwater viewing area.
Man, how did you create those gorgeous walls at 0:53 ? I've been trying to get a similar look for my aquatic habitats but have been having trouble figuring it out (pretty new to the game) ^^;
Thanks very much and welcome to the Planet Zoo community, I hope you're loving the game so far! I made a set of walls that I've been reusing for this section back when I made the prairie dog episode for this zoo. It's using one of the aquatic rock pieces for the block effect.
I’m really enjoying this series, I have been binge watching it over the last few days. I wonder if you would mind advising how ur graphics are so clear? Do you play in 4K? I have 3070, but game is really bright and cartoonish still…and not sure what is best settings for me.
Oh that's very cool to hear, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I play and record in 1440p on max settings and have a pc with twin 1080tis so definitely inferior to a single 3070. I record in 1440p but actually produce the videos in 1080p (as you'll have probably have noticed). I do also do a little bit to the video when I edit just to sharpen (a touch) and add some contrast. If you have an Nvidia graphics card you could install GeForce Experience and play around with some of the filters to make your game look better, failing that have a look at something like Reshade as an option too
@@Toves thank you for your help. I’ll have another go at it. Pc is new to me, so unfamiliar with all the settings. Never heard of reshade, I’ll look into that as well. Thanks again.
That little inside nook with the burrow is just gorgeous 😍 and I can almost smell it :D The whole build is amazing, really enjoyed it.
Thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it

Ah thanks very much Pittsky you're very kind. Hope you're doing well and looking forward to the new DLC. Yeah I'm a big fan of the aadvarks too

Looks awesome! A beaver habitat with a dam built into the river would be pretty cool, it would fit especially well next to the other river animals
Thanks very much! Yup I've been working towards a beaver habitat for a while... we're not quite there yet, but it's coming :)

Oh awesome Swoop. Yeah I really loved Tasmania, I stayed near Cradle Mountain I think

Cheers Kr0x. Oh I like that idea!!! Hmmmm.... you've got me thinking now :)

I wish these guys were in my local zoos.

Hey can you please put the thing you had the baby cassowaries in on the workshop please
Yup. No worries, its pretty simple but I'll upload it either today or tomorrow
