    Some really beautiful cassettes there. I usually don’t get too nostalgic, but the squeak of opening the case instantly took me back to the ‘80s!

    I remember watching your videos back in the 2010s. It was my high school years, and they were a great part of my growing interest for older electronics. I guess you

    My grandparents had a Grundig C480 cassette recorder in the early 1980's, and that was the only time I ever saw a tape selector with FeCr as one of the options, but I never saw an actual FeCr blank cassette at the time, as they mainly used it for playing back pre-recorded classical tapes. The blank cassettes I can remember from that time were EMI and Contek.

    The green write protect lugs can be reinserted at 90 degrees as a write protect so you don't lose them. A great selection once again. Best wishes.

    I just wish you had some demonstration for us... the High Com and stuff.
    I was aware of SONY's auto sensor. Did you collect any fancy reel to reel cassette?
    They look pretty cool and they're used as presentation throughout many catalogs of various Hi-Fi manufacturers but they're incredibly rare and pricey today. Why haven't they been more ubiquitous ?

    • @DrCassette
      @DrCassette  Год назад

      I might upload some samples from the HighCom demonstration cassette at some point. But that was not the point of this video. I think many years ago I had one reel-to-reel style cassette. It was terrible quality, recordings sounded just awful. So I don't have it anymore.

    800 YEN in 1969? What did I miss? Was there an "old yen" and a new one now with little to do in value? I mean, 800 YEN is 5.54 Euro or 5.90 Dollars today! Imagine how expensive that would have been for a cassette half a century ago!

    Deine MA-R müsste von 1985 sein, wenn ich mich nicht irre. Kann man dem Code auf der Oberseite entnehmen.
    Im Tonbandforum gibt es mittlerweile zu mehreren Herstellern erfolgreiche Versuche, durch die Codes Produktionsjahre herauszufinden. Geht u. a. bei BASF, TDK, Maxell und teils Sony.
