Sharks extreme healing abilities are well known and well researched. They can't regenerate lost parts as far as I know but their wounds, even severe ones close very quickly.
Salt is a natural antiseptic as well as an element they can soothe pain. My guess would be that the salt content of the ocean keeps the wound from getting infected and keeps the shark from feeling much or any pain at all.
The oceanwater is full of bacteria, way more than in freshwater We were getting infections over infections, it has something to do with there genes, not the sourrouding

The shark that had scoliosis you see that fairly often in farmed salmon. They usually use them ones for fillets or portions where they could never sell them as is.
My wife wanted to go to Australia so bad when we got married. I told her that all the scars I have across my back were from a jellyfish. Now this was back in the early 90s. I studied crocodiles and my uncle has a pretty large place in Australia. Anyway that jellyfish almost killed me and it did make me scared of getting back into the water. On our honeymoon I flew us from New Orleans to Sydney Australia. My wife found out that I wasn't joking and that the Box jellyfish is one of the most venomous animals in the world. So we went to a spot that had the nets around and I still wasn't going into the water. I think after a couple of hours she figured out that I wasn't playing and I was really scared of the jellyfish. I don't know how I feel about sharks. All I do know is that you might be able to see them coming too eat you. A jellyfish on the other hand, they are just floating along and if you get into the way..... Just hope that you have the help I got that day.
I saw a documentary on that box jellyfish, and I was shocked. A researcher accidentally got stung, taking off her glove. She nearly lost her life and described the pain. You can barely see them. I'd never go in any water they're known to live in.
I am scared of jellyfish. I've only been a few feet into the ocean or sea. I don't like how salty the water is either. I'm also scared of sea urchins and sting rays. Sorry that happened to you.

Anyone who cares about great white sharks should know the island of Guadalupe in Mexico has closed it's marine park to cage diver's and tourist's. This is important because the presence of the boats kept poacher's away. They didn't end fishing in those water's and without them patrolling and protecting the park, the Great whites are sitting ducks for shark finner's. There's around 400 GW sharks around the island and they are thought to be the ones that populate the world's shark population. This could mean the end for Great white's. What you can do is contact the Mexican government and tell them the park needs regulated protection, and you can share this message. The more people who know and share on social media, the more pressure it will put on the Mexican government.
The shark probably got the cut from a propeller or something else human related. Or it could've smashed into a rock or coral or something like that while hunting. But it was probably human related somehow.
That human looking shark reminds me of a deranged Teletubby or the stay puft marshmallow giant in "Ghostbusters" crossed with a Conehead like "S.N.L. Or maybe I ate too many weed gummies...😵💫
Crazy looking Bull and it looks like something bigger tried to get a bite out of its right side. Aren’t those teeth marks above (and below) the pectoral fin?
The Joker?... that's not a Glasgow smile, Scarface would have been much more appropriate & menacing, what a missed opportunity, oh well!, a least to me this shark will always be Scarface.
That shark shown with only one pectoral fin, as it is portrayed in this video, it looks to me that it is the right fin missing, not the left one. Is Watop having a problem distinguishing left from right? 😅
Cyclopsia? Too damn freaky. If i caught a shark or any fish with 1 eye, i would drop my rod and quit fishing The weird eyes shark was probably a Fukashima nuclear shark
Am I the only person who's inner nerd geek out over Sharks?? 😂 Seriously they're crazy awesome, ditto with cephalopods and jellies, I mean they're practically the paradigm for self regeneration and "eternal life" PS: I was born in FL -don't judge me. Can't wait to visit New Smyrna one day
Why would you think you are the only person who geeks out on sharks? Shark Week, tons of shark movies. Thousands of RUclips videos, books, clothes with sharks pictures on them. MILLIONS of people geek out on sharks. They are fascinating and intriguing to no end. I have been studying them since 1975. Drawing them, painting them, photographing them. You are not alone.
The scar was from a seal or sea lion - the shark had no choice but to "trooper on" as it's not like it could swim around with its hands clutched over the wound and complain that it hurt. Unlike humans, animals can't take sick days because if they don't hunt then they don't eat, so like humans who don't get paid time off, sick or well, happy or sad, they show up for work every day.
Love ur stuff, but just some corrections at the start. Sharks are an early separating type of vertebrate/fish but are far from the first ones. First vertebrates show up in the fossil record about 500 million years ago, but sharks evolved 450 million years ago, from a descendent of that earlier ancestor, as did we, sharing a last common ancestor around that time. But whilst sharks took a form pretty recognisable, our descendants were only just evolving into bony fish. Any way, tangent over. Other correction is, whilst young Megalodon likely did face competition from great whites, and this wouldnt have helped with their decline, the main reason that it is believed to have gone extinct is due to a cooling climate. This restricted Megalodon's range, whilst its prey (marine mammals) were able to move to higher latitudes to feed on new food sources, leaving Megalodon to starve. But sharks are the best sea puppies, and dolphins are ocean psychopaths. Sharks have the worst PR team, but dolphins have the best. Either way, sharks are in trouble because of humans and their conservation is so important as they are a keystone species, and have been an important part of ecosystems for 450 million years. Good video
I hope that you are referring to the Spiny Dogfish ( also known as spurdog, mud sharks, and spiked dogfish) and they are the most well known of sharks. If that means anything else, it’s very prejudicial!!!
Well 😳nothing in here has weakened my determination NEVER to swim in the seas they can keep their realm private for all i care------- respect to a powerful survivor
Apparently the narrator did not recognize that the shark with the jacked up fin did not realize it was not the same shark that was seen later. Yup, let's just wait and see how a Mako shark handles without a dorsal fin. (Steve whispers "imma gonna go out and cut some mako shark's dorsal fin off and see what happens".)
Not all sharks are salt water only. Their are sharks that can not only swim in fresh water but live long lives in fresh water. People have seen and documented sharks like the bull shark all the way up the Mississippi River to the Great lakes.

Maybe from them constantly being in saltwater speeds up the healing process
Maybe they do heal quickly but the makers of this video will never know because they're too fugggin stoopit.
My two most favorite subjects...Sharks & scars! ❤
Coconuts still ranked higher than sharks for kills

My explanation for the Joker shark's scars: It lost a fight to a rich, orphaned shark in a bat costume.
I thought his papa just wanted him to smile more....
That slashed GW might be from propellers
And that crawling sharks might be the start of the *Land Shark* evolution
The pectoral fin on a shark works and looks just like a fighter jet's wings 🤣.
Guess all that cyanide used to collect aquarium hobbyist fish isn't such a great idea after all. Who'd of though it.

Not all shark have the large dorsal Fin, The family Hexanchidae, mostly have a single small dorsal Fin near the tail.
"Usually a cyclops lacks a brain"
There are a lot of politicians that are lacking brains also.
My first guess was a blade of a motorboat or ship caused the gash in the shark... looks like a slash of something....
