I miss the good old days of gaming of where edginess used to be cool, now it's called cringe if a character has a cool personality and Whitty nature, this video sums up what really happened to gaming, great video 🔥
(whimpering dog noises).
Edgy for me was whiny dialogue, weird leather outfits and eccentric nu-metal accessories, and main characters who amounted to outcasts that dressed goth with superpowers and hentai women. Or they would be cartoonishly masculine.
Why gaming went from what it was in the 90's to "something something DARKNESS" I'll never know.
Its cringe because it was obvious how hard these adult writers are trying to be "cool". While often as coming off as eye rollingly corny.
@@mayday-tz4dv Then this is why Video Games are so boring now, so much pandering and virtue signaling, a video game can't be what it's supposed to be anymore.
I miss the edginess and variety of games in the 2000s and early 2010s. Ninja Gaiden, Darksiders, The Darkness, Devil May Cry, the GOOD Star Wars games, those were better times.
I played ninja gaiden couple months ago it was... Perfect
The whole reason behind the fame of god of war is its edginess
It wasn't just the edginess it was also the combat and level design being ahead of its time.
Greek GoW is the perfect simple + edgy. It's easy enough for anyone to join in and slightly edgy enough to give off that edge. It's not like DMC4 that has a tall entry level, or something like Hatred that's edgyness is just . . . Yikes
@@ShatteredGlass916you play in fucking normal and say its easy my father stuck 11 hour in one of the sections because he was play in difficulty higher than hard
@@alimaryoosh1662 some sections are more difficult than others but really most of them are pretty fine easy imo. Some of the more harder level are usually the one with awfully small arena or just awful camera angle
True. Through the first trilogy I’ve never liked kratos personality but how he did it was always impressive.
I have a love-hate relationship with over the top edge. I love it as an aesthetic, like a character dressed in head to toe black and chains and nonsensical or impractical but cool weapons. But a lot of edgy stuff tries to put in "controversial" or "triggering" material, like a wannabe South Park with a grimy filter, taking itself way too seriously.
As you mentioned, it really depends on how seriously it takes itself. I like Deadpool because he can crack jokes while ridiculous and messed up stuff is happening around him. I don't like Rob Liefeld (for a number of reasons, but mainly) because he wasn't in on the joke. He tried to take his ridiculous plots and characters too seriously.
Yeah it's feels like a teenager with high opinion of their own opinion vs. Gears of War.
Prototype is hands down the best edgiest video game I ever played in my life.
I think part of it is also just.....edgy, intense shit is seen as "cringe" these days.
Back in the era you were talking about, like you said, it was the cool thing to do to be edgy and grim and stuff
But now when something is too edgy, it gets mocked and ridiculed.
The edgy and/or intense being seen as cringe-inducing or "problematic" as they put it is a them problem if you ask me. “Edgy” and "intense" are not valid criticisms by any stretch of the imagination. Dark, harrowing, traumatizing, and violent or even sadistic material, up to and including those of a sexual nature, can be used and/or portrayed in any story and medium, and used/portrayed well provided they aren’t made over-the-top for the sake of being over-the-top; are treated with respect and shown in a truthful light by an impartial hand; and the writer isn’t pretentious (pretentiousness being whenever someone believes or a piece of media portraying something as having more meaning or value than it actually possesses) or trying to send an ideological and/or sociopolitical message, doesn’t make their work pretentious or about sending an ideological and/or sociopolitical message, and doesn’t portray their subject matter in a pretentious manner or manner dedicated to sending an ideological and/or sociopolitical message. The real criticism that people take with the “edgy” and "intense" and apply said labels to is the work in question or its subject matter breaking one or in some cases all of the above-mentioned criteria. Also, if “edgy” and "intense" are allowed to be a valid criticism, and you DON'T want to be accused of selective criticism or playing double-standards, then the same naturally goes for “hipster,” (“Hipster” in this case referring to anything pretending to be cool, important, or mainstream while denying being cool, important or mainstream and pretending it’s underground or “too subtle” or “smart” for mainstream audiences when it isn’t like almost all media in the past decade now as of 2023; being referential or self-referential for the sake of it; breaking to fourth wall for the sake of breaking the fourth wall; and/or worshiping that which is considered retro or nostalgic in regards to that which they happen to like or agree with and seeing only good in it while seeing only bad in that which is new if its something they disagree with or don’t like, while also contradicting themselves and seeing only problems in older works if they disagree with it or happen to not like it while seeing only good in the new if they agree with it or happen to like it, all of which is made worse by how inconsistent they are with their standards and criticisms especially whenever they’re trying to send an ideological and/or sociopolitical message) and I believe anything with the hipster label or of a “hipster” nature has done more harm in a shorter amount of time than anything with the edgy and/or intense label/s, as well as being an actual criticism unlike “edgy” and/or "intense" (at least in my opinion).
My argument with everybody hating on the Titans show
@@elusivegaming3968 Except that the Titans show was edgy for the wrong reasons. It just made Robin say "Fuck Batman" and turned Starfire into a prostitute. None of the characters acted like who they were supposed to be based on.
cringe is what they make these days
You just described right wingers of today
The craziest part is I've spoken to a lot of people that claim that we live in a more accepting time for violence, nudity, etc. in games... when all I see are companies and development studios getting so afraid of tackling difficult and dark subjects with the proper edge. I understand the criticism for the old obsession with edginess; however, I miss it dearly (not the obsession, of course). These days, I've seen more studios dive onto extraction shooter "hype" trains and obsess over sociopolitical narratives and ideologies rather than actually making something worth talking about. Gore and violence lately is only truly accepted by mainstream journalists and the current generation of gamers when it's applied to zombies, monsters, and other forms of creatures. The Last of Us: Part I and II are an exception to the rule... and they're only ever favored by game journalists because the narrative adheres to the current progressive norm, whether you're into that or not... it's the truth. I do think there's enough mature gamers out there that want to see edge return properly in games. And I don't mean that edginess always has to be over-the-top. That's why Ready or Not is one of my favorite indie shooters... and that one is quite controversial with the mainstream crowd, especially those that are easily offended by or angered at the thought of police simulators. Great video! Subscribed!
You mean you can make a game edgy so long as it's "progressive"? Why don't they make progressive games that are also gory and edgy and grimdark?
@@linkskywalker5417, I'm pretty sure I've already pointed to a good example, that being The Last of Us - Part 1 and Part 2. And they have made a few others in the same or similar vein, and they're also actively changing IPs that used to be pretty much their own thing into something that's forcibly progressive... just look at what's going on with Warhammer 40K. Heck. Cyberpunk 2077 is another good example. It's quite a progressive game that's still edgy and dystopian. You don't have to dig that deep to find that the edgy games that happen to get the seal of nigh-immediate mainstream approval from gaming journalists and the like often have to be set up with the progressive standards already at play within the context of the game's world in question. Even comic books have a similar issue. Marvel thinks Punisher is too conservative-leaning (yes, many writers have clearly stated their sentiments against said character)... so, they'd try and write him into becoming more progressive-friendly (hence, the distinct anti-police remarks)... and, when that doesn't work well enough, they just completely write him out of the main picture. In that case, too, you don't have to dig that deep either. They're not even hiding their intentions.
Poor Kratos will never have a sex mini-game ever again :(
I saw Jak 2 in the thumbail and it was an insta-click for me.
Super excited about the new channel, Danny!
I am fifteen and I miss all the violence of older games like these
Yep. You're definitely in that phase to be into that.
Don't worry, you'll hopefully grow out of it.
@@Golan_Vivaldi L
I don't think edgy is bad. And a lot of people who overuse the word and use it as derogatory don't get that all these so called edgy games had great story and characters behind them. What we have now? Same boring, safe, toothless games over and over with only politics that are approved by loud minority. Enjoy your Horizons and censored remakes.
Good video. I've always been pro edging... Edgy.... Edgy video games I mean. I've always loved hyper violence because it is so separated from my world and my personality. It is escapism. I taught my daughter how to do sub zero fatalities at five years old because something told me she wouldn't try and pull someones spine from their back on the playground. She grew up to be a successful well rounded mother and wife who obtains from fatalities even the rudest of wait staff. I did refrain from exposing my kids to too much foul language and sex because they are going to try that without my approval and I at least want them to feel bad about themselves when they do. But seriously I grew up in the 90s and mortal Kombat was the holy grail for me. I appreciate some mom angering gore in my games, it's just cathartic and escapism on a visceral level. Sure I could enjoy being a slug cat for a bit or playing a my little pony based fighting game.... But let's be honest... By the end of the night I'm going to be running from a killer and having my scapula stretched by a meat hook.
completely agree. i miss jump buttons and traditional platforming like jak and the old ratchet and clank games hell in the new god of war you can't even fall of the edge.
the level design in modern games also falls flat, litterally. it all went downhill with Uncharted back in 07 in my opinion the games are amazing among my favorites but it set in motion a trend where developers were too afraid to let people figure stuff out by themself.
i also think too many games copy the dark souls formula not every game needs to have s on dodge or a stamina bar to have a good combat system its like there is no creativity anymore
Dude fucking tell me about it man. I cannot stand how many games keep trying to copy soulslikes, it's so annoying.
Yeah! A danny gaming channel, cant wait to see what conversations are had here
Im so glad im not the only one who recognized the voice, thought i was crazy
Jesus I KNEW it was Danny Motta I FRIGGIN KNEW IT
"Where is hornet's chainsaw sword in silksong"
Where is silksong?
Kratos is Homelander, in 2018 is Butcher and in 2022 is just Hughie doing whatever his son wants to do
I think it's possible to have very momentous moments, without having them be horribly graphic. I mean, Danny did mention a few really moving emotional moments in things like God of War 2018, but I think it's still possible to have really big spectacle. Things like when Starkiller moves the star destroyer, it doesn't have to be super graphic as long as it's very big and makes the player feel a sense of urgency and strong emotion while also going "THIS IS SO @$#&ING COOL!!!"
I wish I could go back and play through all of Jak and Dex for the first time. I miss the good old days
I still have my PS2 and Jak 1 and 2.. i replay them every couple of years and I still have so much fun.. I also have Jak4 but I can't find Jak3 unfortunately
why just play it, same game
This is such a satisfying nostalgia bomb and I love it 🤣
Me too friend. Me too. Everything plays it way to safe anymore. All to appeal to the likes of twitter and to make that sweet, sweet ESG money. If it weren't for the vocal minority on twitter, and for that stupid ESG incentive we would still have edgy games, they would be pretty common I feel. But times changed and not for the better. One game that I've been playing again recently is Splatterhouse(2010) and that game is edgy as hell.
You got Blood and Guts, and Gore everywhere. Heavy Metal soundtrack, offensive vulgar humour. And one of the collectibles are naked photos of your main characters girlfriend. Try catching a studio making this today. They just wouldn't, they would be strung up and beat by the internet.
One argument I always hear is, "The world has matured, we've grown up." To that I say... Hell no! The edgy shit really only stopped around 2015/2016. It got really bad 2017 and onward. There was and still is a market for edgy content, always has been. It's just nowadays their really big into censorship, and forcing ideas onto others. We haven't "matured" we've just been censored.
The EA line was so true 😂
Hearing you talk about Jak and Daxter was amazing.
The first 2 were my favorites as a kid but every time I bring it up nobody seems to remember these games, like, what??!!
Come one, the first one was so whimsical, the second so edgy.
We get to see Jak's dad in the 3rd..
And eventhough i didn't finish the 4th i did get to the scene were Jak finds (after so many years) the ruins and chair were he was injected with the black echo in Jak 2.
No one ever talks about the Jak games these days, I feel like. Well, not entirely true, but at least I very rarely see them being discussed in videos. So it's really nice that you do. Jak 2 was the first PS2 game I owned and played by myself from start to finish. I enjoy all first three main entries to the series, with the second game still being my favorite. I also really liked Jak X, it's still my favorite racing game to this day. Thank you so much for appreciating these games and talking about them.
Jak X needs more attention, it's such a fantastic racing game and should be placed alongside the classics
So my take-away is that newer games don't have enough despair. 100% agree
Ragnarok ended up more tame yet
Being a part of the generation that plays these new games and enjoys all the new shit, I feel so out of sync with my people my own age.
I can't stand fortnite, I don't care for any of the battle royal games and I miss when split screen was in Halo, and I was 5 when Halo 4 came out. I think the Emotes are just kinda dumb and I play shooters in ways that are too realistic for the setting. I get along more with my adult coworkers over games than my own classmates. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this, but it gets pretty lonely.
I'm with Danny on a much broader stroke. I just miss the edgy shit in general.
Games should be fun spectacles as opposed to high budget tedium. Thank you so much for making this video
Jak 2 is genuinely one of Naughty Dog's best titles. I fucking love Jak 2
It is the best one in my opinion. :)
All I’m saying is this could just be nostalgia. Kids that are our age back then might be experiencing that now.
Ratchet & Clank franchise says otherwise.
It is nostalgia
Hell I got nostalgia for resident evil 7 which I only played like 2 years ago
no it is not, modern games sucks and old games where better, period.
@@ghevisartor6005 elden ring > every game shown in this video
Deal with it
I recently got into God of War. Never touched it before 2022. The older games were much much more hype
just found this, thanks for more content Danny
I don't think shadow the hedgehog was that bad. I love the edge shadow had. Him using guns set him apart from sonic.
Modern 2 ad took me back😭😭. Also, I wish some more edgy games came out because I missed out on a lot growing up. I'm now 21 and want to experience that without wussing out lol
Jack and dexter are child hood favorite for life ❤
There's a whole lot of nuance to the whole edginess curve then most people think about. Art-style I think is one of the axis since with the art style you dictate where it sits on a scale of realism, things like that Sonic's cartoons art style made the Shadow game really stick out as while it is still faithful to the traditional Sonic style while having a more serious and edgy storyline and tone more befitting of Shadow's character. Having a overly realistic style while trying to go for the over the top theatrics of edgy games creates what my dad calls "murder porn" (his words not mine) while if you have more fantastical elements and a style that works with those elements the moments of edge seem to me to hit a lot harder and stick a fair bit more. a lot of things that to me fit the edge criteria is making you sit up in your chair and focus entirely on the screen things that get your blood pumping and the adrenaline flowing. Its those types of moments that you remember.
Shadow the Hedgehog is an interesting example because it demonstrates really well the difference between dark and edgy. Sonic Adventure 2 is dark and takes itself pretty seriously while also having a grounded and good story and characterization that you can take seriously. Shadow the Hedgehog is edgy because the "dark" elements are cranked up so far without the more grounded writing of SA2 that it's hard to take seriously anymore and that's not (necessarily) a bad thing and leads to something just as memorable but for completely different reasons.
I just want someone to make a manhunt style game with the graphics of RDR 2 lol, that'd scratch that sick itch in me.
Im… SO excited for this channel
So we’re just not gonna talk about ratchet and clank!?!
Edgy spectacle is what got me into gaming. Miss the ps3/360 era
God i miss this era. Dead Space 2 and Dantes Inferno are some of my favorite games, no wonder I love your videos. And if your looking for more edge not covered here, check out Splatterhouse for PS3.
I like your energy!
I played GOW 2018 once and uninstalled, while I have all previous GOW games on my system and play them from time to time. The combat is so fun and epic moments are still epic and of epic scale.
The same with MGSV, older ones had real epic bosses but V doesn't.
Gears of War was so brutal and scary for me and now, 4 and 5 is so childish.
The gore in a realistic looking game is definitely problematic but what happened to epic bosses and epic gameplay?
Also very impressive that you talk about edgy video games and like completely don't mention Doom 3 at all. Though I wouldn't classify Doom 3 years edgy per se. It is definitely shocking
being edgy is a gamble i learned being a bit of an edgelord myself. just because you have been through tough shit doesn't really mean anyone is really forced to actually give a shit about it. when done well you can strike a chord with the people who need it the most. but when phoned in, dont be surprised people call you a mean spirited brat who refuses to see the good in life because it doesn't seem "real" enough. making you the poser you railed against to begin with.
Dude I would love it if there was a KH game that was rated T or M for violence. I know lots of KH fans would hate it. But me on the other hand would absolutely buy it
I always thought the KH games had a lot of opportunity to take a dark turn and explore more mature themes. Thought it'd be cool if they looked more into the chosen hero trope, and how that could be misused. Disney probably wouldn't play along with that.
im a 2006 kid so i havent played most of these games, i think there were like 3 game series that i believed had fun intresting story's and game play in them when i was a kid and thats. The old God of war games (my dad used to play the games and let me play), skylanders, and even though i didnt play alot of it dark souls because of the difficulty dark souls was another game i enjoed.
Even for me who has only experienced some of thesegames 100% understand what u mean. recently i havent been enjoying video games at all. Id always just get mad or bored while playing games with my friends even if its good fun once in a while. So instead of playing alot of online single player games that i hadnt played like: Nier replicant, God of war 2018 and a bit of elden ring.
I dont know if you have played Nier replicant, but if you havent i strongly recommend it. I haven't gotten to play Nier Automata yet i have heard its really good
Hilarious video. Thank you
Games were honestly even more edgy before dead space 2 lol
12:55 mans gonna love Jedi Survivor.
"Embrace the Darkness"
this video really got me wantin to play the 3 god of war games again
nowadays only "safe" edgy is allowed
Glad I found this channel
It'd be interesting to do my career or my gm as a mentor in the hunger games. Every year depending how accurate or dishonest you are you're more likely to get trust
I really enjoyed the dead space games, they are some of the best games I have ever played
I sat here thinking about Pokemon the entire 17 minutes lol. I know it's not really an edgy game, but I grew up with it and it seemed the older I got the younger their audiance got. Youd like to believe that your favorite games would expand and mature with you if their gonna be around that long, but the more excited I got for Nintendo to make a bigger and better game that expands on everything theyve done, things just got more "for kids" when when I was a kid, they were for everyone.
The Pokemon games have always been for kids mate
Finally someone appreciates the jak and daxter shift
I think what we need now is something of a happy medium. Like look at Doom Eternal. It gave the most off-the-walls story, with a world reeling from literal hell. In any other character’s hands you could have told a somber, dark story of survival. Instead, we get the Slayer, and get to be the thing ending it. You kill (spoilers) God Junior, Basically Satan, an Angel powered up by God, and then Satan who’s actually God who’s actually *you*! I think if games nowadays are gonna have those moments, they’ve either gotta have plenty of recovery time or go with a less realistic look. Give the player a break from all the dark and depressive. Cut the edge with a *bit* of humor, or if not humor, a moment of peace. Perhaps it’s because I come from the generation that witnessed the change, when games became more like they are today, and now that I’m just now an adult can see what was. But regardless, yeah. I wish I had seen the edge in it’s heyday.
(Also I’ll ignore the Cal Kestis slander, that order 66 scene was perfect)
Jak and Daxter will own me til I die. I came from tik tok cause I saw the thumbnail in your promo. 🤣
I'll defend Cal by saying this, Cal does get darker in the sequel. He taps that Dark Side like it's Marin. He gets a gun, he watches people die. He gets fucking lit.
I'd say the sequel managed to strike a balance of having some mature moments and making Cal a bit rough around the edges, without turning into edgey misery p0rn. Spectacle too.
Excited
The game that comes to mind in terms of unmatched , sheer dirtiness and brutality would be Manhunt, I remember my mom got it for me for Christmas the year it came out ( She had no concept of game ESBR ratings, nor did she think that video games outside of mortal combat were meant for adults) but she was horrified when my 11 year old self was like "check this out!" all happy like, and proceeded to do the red crowbar execution. Needless to say, I was not allowed to finish the game lmao.
OMG Fallen Order!!! 😂😂😂 I spat my coffee out, that's exactly how I feel.. dude is duller than a brush with no bristles
I miss edgy media in general. I miss the time when developers weren't afraid to push the boundaries so to speak, and i don't just mean the tame things, Manhunt, Hatred, 3d era GTA games, hell, even Mafia 3, man, the amount of n-word bombs that game had, sure, it's not a good Mafia game, but it's a good edgy game. Nowadays most companies are afraid of doing anything even remotely edgy because people would call it "offensive" or "problematic" or say it's "absolutely unacceptable because muh current year"(and honestly the opinion of the crowds that usually screech those buzzwords doesn't even matter because they don't buy games to begin with), and don't get me started on the whole western AAA industry now, all games gotta have the messaging and all that shit. Same with movies, back in the day we had shit like the original Blade trilogy, the Punisher and whatnot, and nowadays the only closest thing to edgy that's come out in recent decade is damn Joker movie, that's not to say it's bad, but still tame compared to stuff back in the day.
On a closing note, i'm glad someone still remembers the force unleashed, those were great, Vader chase sequence? Forget that, first force unleashed had playable Vader sequence.
dude really when you talk about gears of war.... this sound like a ''I'm 12 years old and this is deep'' moment
Idk if you made this before or after Baldurs Gate 3's release, but i think it would be interesting to see your updated take. I felt like baldurs gate 3 was pretty edgy for a modern game, but they did a good job of keeping the balance and not making it too edgy
For star wars fallen order kel never fully learned how to use his force abilities when order 66 happened
This was swag my guy
Well this was a nostalgia trip. I hadn't really put the thought to words, but you're absolutely right. Maybe that's why I'm as excited as I am for Squirrel with a Gun, it's just another round of putting a firearm in the hands of a small furry creature and letting them lose.
Preach brother!
I'm replaying Prince of Persia Warrior Within right now and it's still amazing if I overlook the modern pc hardware causing some bugs.
In the next GOW game I hope they have somthing happen to the Norse world that makes kratos snap and have his frends be able to help him control it
Dude cyberpunk 2077 is edgier than an emo kid made of razor blades
I almost lost all interest in gaming by the 2000's and a lot of it had to do with bad gameplay mechanics being shipped out with awful stereotypical characters, corny dialogue, and ridiculous hypersexualized women that basically only existed for someone to create hentai over. It took me almost 10 years to rekindle my desire to even own a video game console and buy games for it.
I don't want to listen to Limp Bizkit and I don't want to play Limp Bizkit: The Video Game.
I think edgy almost works better in alternate styles. Like, Jak (2, 3, and X) were all excellent. The dystopian semi-punk future, mashed with alien monsters was so damn good. And the unique art style allowed you to make dumb jokes about Daxter not wearing pants because he's an animal, while in the next scene some guy talks about how violently he's going to disassemble you.
God I miss that. Not every fun cute game has to turn edgy, but there is a reason people loved that meme of mashing Animal Crossing with Doom.
SUBSCRIBED!!!
Callisto was pretty edgy
Not so much the game, but the over attachment to gore that they were willing to stay banned in Japan
That was pretty respectable
callisto protocol, that was tame shit bro the hell u smoking
How do you only have 136 subs?!
i dont play any of these mentioned games but unironically this is how i feel about the sims franchise
also honestly the current tameness of games is 100000% because of the sanitisation of everything for the benefit of investors and advertisers and it's EXHAUSTING
Now these days. If a game is "edgy" its automatically "bad" even if the game is actually good. I cannot wait till this trend on hating edgy games dies
Me: watching the video
8:33 rolls around: I SEE NO HEAR NO EVIL BLACK WRITINGS ON THE WALL!-
I highly agree with you
Right now I'm playing metroid prime 2 and i love it. I think it's pretty edgy
Is this a stolen or is this a new channel because i used to watched some videos back then that has this voice were it was taling about anime and cartoon 😅
Another example of edgy games turning tame. Warcraft
Warcraft used to be about orcs and humans fighting to the death over supremacy over azeroth and the orcs were corrupted by demons. Man how warcraft changed
Yes 1000% I miss the days of Xbox 360 and PS3 when I loved games. Nowadays I get so bored with games, so instead I'll just go reread berserk 😂
I miss edgy games, you don't find them like you use too anymore
3:34 oh well in god of war ragnarok
I feel like I'm just a major wimp when it comes to combat/murderous games.
Like I literally have little to no complaints about any of the AC games because all I really want to do is climb buildings, ride horses and look at the scenery. Heck I complain because the combat is too hard for me sometimes.
Like for some reason my switch version of Black Flag is not showing me where the cannons are aiming when I'm having to take down the brig or any ship and it feels like I'm just shooting blindly.
And when I was a kid and my brother showed me games like AC and GTA and asked me if I wanted to play, I would literally only either drive/walk around, climb buildings, find lookout spots. once I had to fight someone I would hand over the remote to him because I was scared of dying and I didn't want to even bother trying to kill anything because I thought "of course I'd mess this up and end up shot down by guards/police."
And I still for the most part try to avoid confrontation as much as I can. So you best belive If I'm having to choose between GOW origional where he rips a Titian's head off, and GOW 2018 where the whole plot of the story is just reaching the top of a mountain to scatter his wife's ashes. You will absolutely choose the latter.
I'm pretty sure the edgiest game I've ever played was Batman Arkham City, and the edgiest one I've watched was Bioshock.
Just wait.... callisto protocol is coming
Bro it was so crazy when don killed himself… twice and when he had to kill his wife. Oh btw spoilers for the first 3 gears of solid games
Tbh I wish newer video games had worse graphics just cause I miss thinking like wow these graphics are cool without them looking like berry from down the street if yk what I mean
Back in the day, 'edgy' was done so much and so poorly, we thought it was all terrible.
Now, we could use a bit of that again...
A fellow Dead Space enjoyer. You must be pretty excited for Calisto Protocol then. Comes out next month by some of the same team. Apparently some parts are so messed up, the game is banned from Japan entirely. I want to see what it's about

No.

I couldn’t agree more. Games have lost the heart. The switch still gives me hope but PlayStation and xbox just create boring stories. I’m sorry I don’t dig God of war 2018. It’s a great game. So is StarCraft. I don’t like either, I miss the hyper violence of the first 3. Kratos was a damn villain for 3 games. Merciless. No one said he can’t grow up, but I just know I miss those games more than ever. Don’t get me started on the state of current RPGS smh.

People have an aversion to things being "overly serious" because they are overly sensitive and want to gaslight you into believing that their overly sensitive nature is "maturity" when in fact they have unresolved issues from when they were a child that disallows them from being able to go to a dark place and come back like a normal person.
