One of the many things i love about visiting my sister is driving through the beautiful landscapes of western Michigan. Where i almost look forward to having to take a detour so we have an excuse to drive down those beautiful back roads.
@maltese 0217 One of my favorite things about Michigan is oftentimes there is a lot of care taken into assuring green spaces are preserved as best as possible, especially out west and up north.
My ex-girlfriend/first love lived in the western part of Michigan near Allegan county. This really brought back memories of driving over to her all the way from Chicago. Thanks for capturing this.

Just saw your comment about Michigan back roads. Thank you for your comment. Michigan is a beautiful state. We are extremely diverse in this geography & population. Michigan tends to get a bad rap in the press. 90 % of our state is rural or remote & heavily wooded. We have areas that are even much more senic than this. Check U-Tube for additional videos of our beautiful state. Come up for a visit( to escape your heat). We are a large state, friendly people, gorgeous scenery, lots of water, so much to see & do.
What part of Michigan is this? I’m from southern California but I used to travel to Michigan every summer to visit my Dad’s side. I’ve always felt a bucolic romanticism about the people and landscapes there. I remember driving my Cousin’s Ford Ranger down long dirt roads, past rolling cornfields and historic barns, through woods and along humble creeks. Single screen movie theaters, fireflies and bugs buzzing around the lights, no cell phones, and humid nights. It was in Michigan where I first discovered the value of freedom.
Saw your comment about Michigan.Thank you. I love my state. Your sentiments are expressed wonderfully. Yes, to get your head screwed on squarely come to Michigan. We haven't lost what it truly means to be a US citizen. Michigan...beautiful scenery, friendly people, good basic values, hard working folks & lots of water!!

Excellent roadcam video! This looks just like some rural areas of Louisiana. I actually thought it was one of my own older videos when I came into the room. Had to look at the queue to see who filmed it.

Oh interesting. My times in Louisiana were mixed - I spent a decent weekend in New Orleans and saw some really grimy parts of LA and wasn't mature enough to appreciate the culture. A lot of nice big and well maintained homes. When I drive back to my birthplace there are just rotting buildings, collapsed commercial and industrial places, signs of the opioid crisis on signs begging people to stop getting high and I am actually a little scared to stop in the still existing stores.
