Forget about the trophies. Let's take the 50 games Vini, Jude and Rodri played this season and arrange the games randomly. Rodri is by far the most consistent and top performer in that scenario. Many Clutch goals. Its not even arguable that Rodri is the best DM in the world right now.

I must agree, just Euro 2024, which was the very thing that got people to say "RoDrI dEsErVeS iT", Rodri did 1 goal (Surprising), 0 Assists (Not so good, but he's a DM, so not so bad), 3 Yellow cards (Discipline is pretty necessary for a ballon D'or, so this is a joke), conceded a penalty, only completed 50% of his clearances, lost 3 tackles out of 6, and 4 blocks, also, the argument that he doesn't lose games and that City always loses without him is a joke, he was horrible in the 4-4 draw against Chelsea, and also, by that logic of theirs, City would be relegated last season, because they would lose all games, also, the games Rodri wasn't in the squad with City, John Stones, De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva weren't there too, they also make it sound as if he plays alone. And finally, he didn't win a SINGLE Player of the Month in the PL, the only MOTM he got was against Sheffield United and Red Star, wasn't even in the best XI players of the EPL that were VOTED BY THE PUBLIC THAT WATCHES THOSE GAMES, and so, it's a fact that Rodri doesn't even deserve Top 10. Rodri deserves it on merit but Vini will get it. Both players win their leagues, Rodri didn’t win the CL but was player of the Euros while Vini was ghost in the Copa and didn’t win it, he had an immense CL win. I think that puts them pretty much on level ground with perhaps Rodri getting slight edge making history with City winning a historic 4th league title in a row.
Even with a slight edge on merit, I think ultimately it will come down to social media presence and club visibility. Vini has a huge SM prescience while Rodri doesn’t even have any accounts and although City brand is growing rapidly, RM is the pinnacle of football branding in the world. Hence, I think it'll go to Vini on visibility with RM and popularity in SM.

City had a 100% loss rate without him and he helped secure a historic 4th title in a row. And therefore I would say he is absolutely the heart of City as you say Vini is to RM (I am not denying that).
Another interesting point is Rodri's production as a 6. In the PL he accumulated 17GA while Vini got 20GA. Let that sink in. Vini is an attacking player and arguably the best LW in the world while Rodri is a defensive midfielder! That is insane that a defensive midfielder could have comparative GA with the best LW in the world. Yet that is what Rodri did.
I think winning a historic 4th PL in a row is a bigger achievement than winning La Liga. Why? Because winning consecutive title is more difficult than winning a single one, and when you throw in the fact that it is a 4th consecutive title which has never been before in English top flight history, that certainly makes a more impressive achievement.
TBF, Vini won the CL which is huge but then was a ghost in the COPA. Rodri lost in the CL but was huge in helping Spain win the EUROS. Is winning the CL more important than winning the EUROS? Rodri won player of the Euros tournament while Vini won CL Player of the season. So both are very prestigious and important awards.
Again, I think Rodri edges it on merit bc of how instrumental he was in City winning the PL and making history doing so in a 4th consecutive season. But Vini has the popularity and as we have seen over the years with Messi and Ronaldo, when the merits are close, the popularity wins with few exceptions. I think Vini gets it because of that.

Premier league was a close race and a little mistake could have costed the team. Him being on the pitch ensured that it doesn't happen. Lautaro was great and I'll put him above Vini but not Rodri.
Lautaro won't win for the simple fact that he doesn't have a strong pr. Rodri's pr can't compare with Real Madrid's either. But on the bright side Man city's PR will only focus upon Rodri while Madrid's PR is being scattered between several of their players. In the end Ballan d'or will always be controversial for how it works.
