i love arias house soo much but i have to disagree i think we see the girls hanging out there the least, we see them at hanna’s and spencer’s a lot and we see them in emily’s bedroom a lot as well.
I think Spencer’s is seen the most because she has a bigger space for everyone to hang out🤔 we do see Emily’s quite alot as well we rarely see arias house in the later seasons

She doesn’t want to be her kids equal like Ella, but she is willing to help others and would protect her daughter as much as she can. She cares about how people will see them (since it could impact Hanna) but you could confide in her if you were going through something. Had Byron called other parents they would have prob coldly said no or said they were *sooo busy right now sry* . 🙄
Hanna had my dream room was i was young. I was obsessed with pink , white , girly decor when i was a kid and i just thought she had the cutest room ever😭 Arias was cute too and I loved Emily’s window seat and Spencer’s canopy bed
It’s fun to see these house sets being used in multiple shows I’ve watched. Emily’s house is Kim’s antiques/Lane’s house in Gilmore Girls. Mona’s house (the front of Spencer’s house) is also used as Sookie’s house in Gilmore Girls, which is the back of Lorelai and Rory’s. Just like how the Applerose Grill is Luke’s diner. I also have always LOVED Aria’s house and wanted a room just like hers. I agree it’s the most cosy.
i feel like for Mona, the green could represent jealousy and envy (green with envy) esp with how similar her bedroom is to Alison's and her and Hanna kinda taking over Ali's life after she disappears. Idk just my thoughts!
My favourite house is definitely Spencer's! It's so spacious, elegant and while I would definitely decorate it differently, I just love how much natural light gets through all those beautiful windows. So obviously I despise the Montgomery's home. There's too much wood, way too much clutter and it's too brown. It just looks too old and dark for my taste. Not to mention how much of nightmare it must be to clean it.😅
I always assumed the new front room at Arias was actually a side entrance off a wrap around porch like an informal entrance. My brain will do ANYTHING to make the suspended reality work haha
I think it would be interesting to look at the evolution of Alison's room- from flashback Alison, to being Maya's room, to Mrs D recreating Alison's room and then Alison moving back in. I wonder if the show kept in mind that Maya's family lived in the house and started doing renovations before Alison's family moved back in. Also I always imagined the Marin house as a town house due to the very modern kitchen, seeing the massive exterior of it surprised me
I remember seeing Tobys room in a flash back before Jenna came to rosewood. I believe it was in the beginning of season 4 and him and Ali are talking then his mom had walked in. his room was more like Lucas with the action figures and the 'nerdy stuff'. I don't know if it counts since his room later became Jenna's.
I was housesitting for my besties parents and they have one of those steam showers, so I got to cosplay Spencer trapped in the shower loll ‘twas the time of my life

The part about Aria and he butterflies: I wouldn't approach it from the butterfly part but rather from the style of butterflies? Those butterflies are dead, pinned onto a piece of food or something. And that part really fits Aria's style. That "using dead animals as decor because you find them aesthetically pleasing" parallels really nicely with her personality and maybe even her relationship with Ezra. Ezra getting together with all these young women (children!) to display them like a trophy. (Idk I might be reading too much into it, I might not.) Also, I would say that Aria owning secondhand pieces says nothing about their financial situation. When they are going to their prom, Aria says to Emily that she found a dress at a charity shop/thrift store and it just spoke to her + she even altered it, ii think. These pieces tell us more about her personality than the Montgomery family's financial situation. (I think at some point Hanna also has butterflies on something but those butterflies are drawn, they are bright pink or purple or something. See, says totally different things about their personalities? )

I definitely agree about Pam having a big say in decorating Emily's room but I do think it suits the young sweet kinda awkward/ introverted Emily from the flashbacks quite well- it would have been great to see her room change/ have a place of her own as she grows up and changes though

I think in a perfect world a prequel show (not possible now since the actresses are older) but kinda showing pre disappearance fully of the girls and their drama and see the turbulence in their home lives more with the dilaurentis's and the whole hanna and Tom thing and explore who they were more before what happened after alis disappearence

So later on in the season we find out it was wilden and melissa and melissa says he made her do it and she was always just trying to protect spencer. but in the scene with aria in the box we hear the woman urging the man and telling him to shut up and do it. So why does no one address the fact that melissa really tried to kill aria?! I’m not sure if i missed this question in the PLL Q&A video you did but this part has me so confused lol
I’m surprised, as often as you mention what yellow supposedly represents, there wasn’t a single mention of how it has traditionally actually represented lies, deceit, etc throughout art history, like, yellow is literally the color that represents Judas, which is also very apparent is period drama costumes, look at who wears yellow and purple specifically…
