Another great video. Your camera work is always superb....so smooth! If I may just make a request though, next time could you also fall back a little to show the other units in the consist too?
You should railfan around Neenah Wisconsin, it's very busy. It's the CN's main from Superior to Chicago. I see BC Rail, Union Pacific, Illinois Central, Grand Trunk and all sorts of power
How do you pull this off? Were too driving and using a tripod or some kind of car mount for the camera or did you have a “pilot” and you just did the recording? I would love to do this but I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable or safe holding the camera and driving at the same time.
Somebody else was driving. This would be stupid dangerous to do while holding the camera AND driving. Don’t do that!!! Also we had to go below the speed limit, so this only really worked because M35 through here is not a busy road at all, and is straight so all passing cars had an east go of it.
@@ThornappleRiverRailSeries oh wow! Good to know! Thanks! I realize some people actually drive and hold the camera, but I don’t find that to be the best idea.
Ahh you caught be...good catch. I'll leave it in there and see how many more rivetcounters we drag up, eh? I'll definitely give you credit for actually reading the description...based on many of the comments here sometimes I wonder if anybody actually reads them! haha have a good day!
Thornapple River Rail Series I'm just anal about that stuff. Its reporting mark is still BCOL so it's still registered as being BC Rail equipment. Even the engines in CN paint are all still BCOL reporting marks.
Indeed, I certainly agree. That's why I said that you caught me napping, because I know better! Funny story, there was a IC Dash9 up here most of the fall, but it was of course in the current full CN paint scheme. Somebody had painted on under the number "Not CN!" because it was clearly sometimes confusing, since the only identifier is the small "IC" just above the frame stripe. With the numbering schemes overlapping so often, I do sometimes question the logic in having two units of the same number in the same paint scheme, with the only difference being that small tag. As more and more units from the IC, BCOL and GTW are painted over, this is likely to become only more frequent.
That is hands down the coolest chase seen I have ever seen, and one of the coolest locos also, just WOW!!! 10 out of 10 man, just epic!!! LIKED AND SUBBED!!!!!
I love that the engine still has its K5H! By far one of my favorite horns!
Especially in the mountains of BC. The echo's amazing!
@@AlexTrain5249 bcrails
K5 horns is technically a k5l (low profile manifold resembles k5la) but still has k5h chimes on the low manifold
That’s correct. BCRail had both K5Ls and K5Hs on their EMDs, GEs, and ALCos.
And it has K5L Too!
Me too
Wow! You can even see the clapper in the bell moving!
Indeed there Buddy!,Indeed!

I gotta say, this is a kick-butt video. Love these old Canadian-cab locomotives. Quite a rare sight to see nowadays, especially in BCOL colors!
I absolutely love the way the K5H sounds on this locomotive
Awesome footage my friend! that's a nice K5L!
@@railsofchicagoandbeyond8832 if you look at the horn closely it has 5 chimes. What does that mean? Some type of k5.
Oh, my mistake.
Thanks a lot for posting that.I'm also a former Michigan's Upper Peninsula Resident now living in Bradenton,Florida.
I've never seen a locomotive like this one and the 📷 work!!!!!🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 you are the man!!!!!!!!
Love these CN heritage units!!! Thank you!
Man listen to that K5H!! Amazing.
Started honking at 0:37
Beautiful K5L!
Another great video. Your camera work is always superb....so smooth! If I may just make a request though, next time could you also fall back a little to show the other units in the consist too?
Ok 👌 🐩🐇🐈⛄🎄🐇
Love the horn show and he even threw ya a little wave, man ok I've watched it 3 times now, I better go eat dinner:)
You can really see it bounce! Very nice.
Awesome pacing sequence.
Great footage! Best horn ever!
Beautiful video! Thanks!
That was nice of the guy to wave. Good video!
Awesome! I didn't know that there were GE units with that cab style.
"Canadian Cabs" - some of the first widecab styles introduced, spearheaded by CN back in the day.
They are really cool in my opinion! Thanks for sharing this video!
Thornapple River Rail Series Yep! William Draper invented them with the "Draper Taper" MLW/ALCO units!
She's still working beautifully. CN is probably going to repaint her, but hey. We still got BCOL 4643? Nice video.
Such a cool video. Great work
Awesome BC Rail K5H!
Ik u lol
@@railsofchicagoandbeyond8832 you can clearly see 1 forward and 4(?) facing back in the video..
Imagine seeing it in 2022 that would be cool
I saw 4644 In Lansing MI leading Q149. 4644 derailed into a snow bank and is now waiting too be repainted into CN.CA paint.
Wait what???? NOOOOOO
I’d bet after the Cowel and Other Non Wid Cab dash 8s those will be next
great shots!
How fast were you guys initially going?
Most of the time we were doing about 35-40 mph, as track speed is 40.
You should railfan around Neenah Wisconsin, it's very busy. It's the CN's main from Superior to Chicago. I see BC Rail, Union Pacific, Illinois Central, Grand Trunk and all sorts of power
Best pacing video ever :) Well done Alex :)
I love this that engine has a great horn but I love freight trains
Pacing, did you mean racing, you made a funny name of this video. 😂
Man I love the K5H
Which sub was this?
CN Marquette Range
such a nice K5L
What do the cars look like?
Awesome! I just saw this unit today!!!!
This sounds like a 2nd gen K5hl!
Wait.... how does it have a P3 mounted on the unit but it's playing the chords of a K5L.... a 5 chime and in a different series?
Look closer: there are five bells up there!
Manifold is the same as a k5la
Thornapple River Rail Series It lost it’s K5L in 2012. Has a K3L up top.
@@railsofchicagoandbeyond8832 I can clearly hear 5 chimes in the sound..
Wow awesome video!
Hm? Only 4 cars?
Yup. No iron ore empties due to a blast furnace shutdown, but still loads to pickup at the turn point so the train still ran.
This is former C&NW Trackage it's a running on.
Nicely done
love how its driver waved

How Fast were you and the train going?
Up to 40 mph. They had a slow order in there where they were going much less.
I watched it on 3x speed so it was fun to a Train speeding along. "Unstoppable"
Great vid.
In regards to the description ... it's not a former BC Rail engine. It IS a BC Rail engine.
Ahh you caught be...good catch. I'll leave it in there and see how many more rivetcounters we drag up, eh? I'll definitely give you credit for actually reading the description...based on many of the comments here sometimes I wonder if anybody actually reads them! haha have a good day!

nice. sweet catch.
The K5H has been replaced sadly with a K3L… and it’s sister engine 4643 has been finally scrapped.
Damn that is sad. Isn't this the last of the 4?
First time I've seen a bell placement like that.
It's a fairly common thing on Canadian-style locomotives. Both CP and CN have a ton of units like that.
It's not common at all. There are very few engines that have that when you take the whole fleet into account.
Nice Catch!! Where abouts is this??
Between Escanaba and Marquette, Michigan
Bc rail!!!!!
At 1:09 you can see the driver waving
Trains It's Big Leaves Cargo
Very short nose
