Looks like so much fun. Never made it to western Canada, but worked in central Ontario for a few summers in the late 90s. Never found anything other than some pyrite and some low grade garnets, but such fun. Thanks for the video.
Hi dan the man you tell Pete if he doesn't like his gold I'll be glad to take it off his hands never ever had a piece of gold thanks dan awesome a pleasure watching u videos great job
That beautiful rounded ball was crystalline gold. I've seen the same thing very rarely in Wyoming, you must be almost right on top of of the vein! Usually they are found by metal detecting because the gold doesn't get as abbrated on the surface.
Great job to all of you! Im even impressed with the black sand take😉. I wonder what would happen if you ran a GB2 over that bedrock. BC is too nice. Thanks for sharing.
This is an amazing looking spot. I get jealous every time I watch one of your videos like this one. I've never looked for gold before, living in northern Missouri, but that view!
Thanks for another enjoyable video. I've recently found myself relocated out to Vancouver Island, and I'm considering getting some gear and making a trip up to the Kennedy River Recreational Panning Area, or maybe one over on the mainland, this summer. Would love to see some content aimed at the recreational panning areas if you happen to have the time to talk about them a bit, as I think this is the kind of thing my nephews might really enjoy. I was trying to read up more on the recreational reserves/recreational panning, but the BC government's website seems 'a bit vague' on exact details. Questions like "Is a classifier considered part of your pan?", or "Are small hand tools for snipping in cracks considered 'shovels'?" are left rather up in the air. The government's website feels rather incomplete, and this seems like the sort of hobby one could quickly rack up a rather large number of fines if you dive in with the wrong information.
I think you found a piece of gold out of the motherload, because it's shape is rough, and not worn down by the river. Maybe it's worth checking out higher up the bank. Maybe i am wrong, but you never know 😉
I still want to go on one of these trips with you with my SCUBA GEAR. I can record everything under water, and bring up material to pan. OR, we could build a suction dredge. This spot looks slow enough to do it.
That one piece of gold looked as if it was turning into some kind of gold Crystal. Does gold form a crystalline structure if no outside force like erosion impedes the process? But I think you might have found a gold Crystal.
With gold that size, I find myself asking he dumb question, why there? I see that the bed rock is a natural gold pan but if you go upstream would you not have a better chance at more pieces in the pan or am I being stupid. I know that gold is where you find it and if you stay on that bed rock for the next ten years that you will still find gold as the river rises and falls. I just would have to go up stream where the steam is better suited to having its river bars and inside curves. Tell me Dan??
Roll them boulders....me n my friend watched old merc covered gold plate the rest of our gold infont of our eyes. Around a gram n a half within a minute. I would say 8% was mercury coated at first. We decided not to work that area because of it.
Hey Dan...nice gold! Been a long time since I heard that clink !! Is there any public ground along the Fraser river open to prospecting? It is my understanding that you are limited to panning only is that correct? I wouldn’t mind the drive over the border if I knew where to go. Keep those videos coming!
No dredging allowed in BC it silts the salmon runs. If one could you would have to get by the current and I have seen dead cows and 60 foot dead head logs pogo down the fraser.
I can't get over how beautiful all of the natural surroundings look in that area. Awesome video with some nice gold!
Thanks!
Love the song of the water fall's, and that beautiful scenery is breathtaking .

It's pretty spectacular up here
Cheers Dan! I've picked 2 off bedrock sense I've been in Cali! In only 1 month. Can't wait until the water drops and the fun begins!
Hey Dan . Your awesome . Love your vids . And the gold . Chunky
You guys sure know how to sniff out some good gold, that river has only shared its gold dust with me.
Good vídeo Dan... And nice river

Classifier is fine, and sniping tools for cleaning out cracks are too. No-body would ever stop you for those.
sweet gold guys looks like a good day on the Fraser for sure!!
How does the claim system work? You seem to have a bunch of claims all over the place.
wow! awesome vid! 9:01 ? maybe piece of alluvial crystalline gold or natural laminent gold on pyrite? very cool find anyhow!
Nice information and excellent beard must take a lifetime to grow that scarf seems practical
Great adventure nice finds for sure

Awesome video love that canyon
wow cool Dan hope you find more!

Docktor Jim illegal.
nice work mike
Good buddies, famous river, really nice finds. Especially curious about the ananlomy...pyrite?
Neat...love the content. A "sign off" for you would be "until next time" or perhaps "where ever you go ...that's where you're at."
Great video mate and nice looking gold ⚒

That spiky micro nugget is awesome!
Great video

really like your beard would love to get up to the Frasier with you and try my luck I don't really have any
Man, those quartz stringers looked like they might hold something. Have you checked the contact zones on any of them?
It looks like an amalgamation that was melted down at some point and has a bunch of impurities in it.
Hey Dan...nice gold!

Keep those videos coming!
There is a public panning reserve on the Fraser in Yale that is good. This time of year is the best.
Right by hope lovre
Right by hope love ur videos Dan
Dan Hurd thanks!
But I’d have to wait for summer.
Nice gold Dan!! What type of bed rock is that????? Looks like a couple different kinds!?!?
It is a shale of some sort. Looks different down close to the river where it is underwater 10 months of the year.
Thanks! Shale love to hide that gold! love these videos.
well done!!
where do you get a square pan from never seen one of those before only the round ones various sizes various colors green mostly
good vid. 3 prospectors having good fun
Nice nuggets in bedrock.
What did the gold weigh??????? Don't leave us hanging!
any Hg in your pans. That clump might be one with gold in it.
please do a follow up on that strange piece. thx :)
I have heard clicks in the pan... Waiting for a clunk.
Clunks are good -I've had a few lately
Mmmm, pan thumpers.
very nice scenery but can we see you getting more gold please
how to you get rid of the mercury amalgam?or separate
Nice gold
that would be a good place for a dredge
True, but there's no dredging in BC according to regulations.
good spot to vacuum the bottom with a home made pvc pump...i betcha the bottom is loaded
roll thre rocks towards the river maybe next flood will take the away for you.gl
very nice
I love that sound....."click"
''Clunk' is way better. More mass creates more bottom end and more pleasing frequencies. :)
Have you ever dredge the river bottom at the same place
No dredging allowed in BC it silts the salmon runs. If one could you would have to get by the current and I have seen dead cows and 60 foot dead head logs pogo down the fraser.
💖💖💖
My wife knows im crazy enough to wait it out. So yes i would have stayed
Looks like that peice maybe never got tumbled flat like other peices u picked
👍👍👏
Can u tell us how much your gold weighs at end of vids
I don't always put it on the scale. and for this trip, Mike and Pete took most of the gold with them.
Ohhh .... NEW VIDEO AND NICE WORK .... !! I LOVE THIS ....!
Can't wait to start doing this!
Miss paning
What was that odd gold
I think it was a mercury amalgam ball.
Is that the claim you have advertised for sale on your site?
Awesome looking place
yes it is.
I think that gold had herpes !
Something was sure wrong with it!
that spikey one might be some kind of gold meteorite XD
Your Patreon link at the end is missing
oops!, thank you, it is there now.
no worries
Are there places to pan that you don't need a claim for?
There are a bunch of Recreational Panning Reserves all over the province.
Dan Hurd. Thanks for the info, looks like a lot of fun. Thinking of taking my boys this summer.
You can get a BC free miners license and sample pan almost anywhere and even on land you want to propose for open staking. At least 20 years ago,
