One of my favorite local hikes. It’s worth the trip.
Welcome to New Jersey baby
I've never been there, but that looks like an awesome hike. I'd like to do it sometime. I live just south of Wharton State Forest, which is a completely different kind of hiking.
I don't do much hiking in south jersey, I'm in Red Bank by the jersey shore. But all of my favorite hikes in the state are in North Jersey like the Del water gap, palisades, and Norvin green. They're such challenging hikes. What should I do if i come south for a hike?
@@bigmarty11288 A good place to start would be the visitors' center at Batsto Village Historic Site in Wharton State Forest. They have all the Wharton trail maps. There are many trails to chose from in Wharton. Plus there is the BATONA Trail, which goes through Bass River, Wharton and Brendan Byrne State Forests. I think it's about 50 miles long. I have only hiked bits and pieces of it. This is the Pine Barrens, and there are many places to hike here, in State, County and non-profit properties.
Nice hiking area!
Omg I've been hiking this same exact loop for years but in the opposite direction. You know how much of a bitch it is going up Carris hill sometimes lol. I'll try this way next time I go it looks much easier than my way lol.
***** I bet! On our way down from Carris Hill, I actually thought of how difficult it would be to climb and was thankful I wasn't haha. This way is certainly less of a challenge, but kudos to you!
Wonder Appalachia is where it's at didn't know till recently that norvin green is still in the Appalachians
Can you spend the night in that forest?
I AM GOING TO TRY LOL
What trail is this
Use this map as a guide - You begin at the Otter Hole parking lot on Blue, then turn left on Green...to Yellow....to Orange...to Red...etc. - or make whatever loop you please to include the high point and the falls ;)
