- Nearing the end of the match, the rival schools are neck and neck until Connie is on match point. Hanesaki realizes she has to block the next shot otherwise she'll lose. She returns a smash but the cord on her racket breaks and Connie moves to return but her leg cramps up, preventing her from moving after the shot.

it was a 2v2 match, but the blondie wanted to go solo, leaving her teammate on the side. you could say that blondie's teammate never really went off the court, but just never did anything.

I don’t watch the anime so I don’t understand what’s going on, why did the girl just pop out of nowhere on the court and actually scored an official point?
I don't watch it either...but I think she was always there. Connie said she didn't need a team...and she didn't. In essence, the girl hit the winning point, taking it from Connie. Or so I'm guessing.
She was always there, but never important till the end to save the match. Judging by blondie clutching her leg after the match, she wasn't going to make that next save and was going to lose. In the end she needed her teammate to win, which meant her victory was meaningless since blondie was wrong about needing a team to win.
