Well that ending wasn't ominous. Leaves the door open for a part 5, whether it be Dudley scheming or trying to escape scrap, or a much spookier continuation for him.
I like how Donald is seperated from his twin for these stories. It shows they have characteristics that make them the same, but also different. Great story and very well animated!
Got to agree on that one 👍🏼 - although you do see them together 😄 on Mainland Studio trailer (well re-uploaded one) but I know what you mean by our dear Donny and Dougie twins
What I'm really impressed by is the fact that while Dudley is ultimately exposed and sent away, he has the courage to speak back to The Fat Controller, challenge his moral compass and even verbally threaten him! I can't think of any other antagonist in the books or the tv series who has ever done that! Even Diesel 10, who we've seen attack humans before, didn't dare threaten The Fat Controller! On the subject of Diesel 10, wouldn't it be cool if he was one of those "bloodhound diesels" that Oliver said were used to track down steam engines for scrap? I personally think it would be very fitting if the other railway heard about Dudley sabotaging other engines in order to reach Sodor and so they drafted Diesel 10 in to track him down and ultimately be the one to scrap him?
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967 of Course he would not, Diesel 10 is a Mad and Derange Diesel who Only Care about what he was build to do,he would not Care If he have to Go trough Sir Thopham Hatt to kill everyone on Sodor.
The difference between Dudley and Diesel is that, unlike Diesel,Dudley was willing to do everything in his power to get a home on Sodor, even if he has to challange The Fatt Controller's morals, unlike Diesel, who did what he did out of Payback,Dudley was desperate to survive and find a home, but he may realize soon,he has no place in the world, times are changing and if he can see and understand that, than his seat with the Devil in Hell is already prepared.
Now that is certainly a way for Dudley to get caught out. Plus I'm glad Bear got put in the clear. It seems we might see Dudley again one day, but who knows when that might happen.
Dudley is basically the perfect picture to show us not all steam engines are good. Another example is vinnie from the cgi film the great race or hurricane from journey beyond sodor.
Hurricane was more desperate for help than an actual villain, plus he actually did care for Thomas, moreso than Frankie did. Vinnie is your typical playground bully stereotype, pushing Philip around, as a bully would do with a smaller kid. Dudley, however, is more like Diesel in the Railway Series. Manipulative, arrogant, scheming, but unlike Diesel, Dudley was willing to put people's lives in danger for the sake of his own progress. I think Dudley works so much better as an antagonist, than Hurricane or Vinnie.
Until I realized this was CG graphics using the physical model eara techniques, I thought this was a real episode. Well done. I actually like this better. Especially as many of the modern eara voices sound awful to me.
What a fantastic finally to the story of dudley the vagrant engine, I really enjoyed your adaptations of this story. In my opinion dudley one of the best written antagonists, and the fact that he had no hesitation threatening the fat controller, the only other antagonist I can think that could threatened the fat controller like that is 98462. Come to think of it I could just imagine dudley and 98462 being in league with each, and goodness knows what carnage the two antagonists would cause together.
@@haydennorris8062 Well there's some people who think 87546 is a 2-8-0(Gresley O2) which is what Dudley seems to be here. One of these people is VickPenguin, creator of Blue Train With Friends, and in one of the versions, 87546 was there as a 2-8-0. So I'm willing to bet that Dudley IS 87546. Just a theory.
Dudley definitely feels kinda like if Alfred didn't do all that edgy, dark, violent stuff to get what he wants and/or to get those he hates sent away or scrapped. I do apologize if the "comparison" might irk some people. But it's a good thing because I'm not a big fan of overly mature/edgy stuff happening in Thomas most of the time.
Yea, alot of psycho-thriller adaptation fanfics of childrens entertainemnt is often overkill. I think society overestimates the aesthetic dichotomy of "children" vs "adults".
@@lizziemonk927 Yeah. Like I said, Dudley feels like Alfred but basically more "realistic". Doing things that aren't stupidly over-the-top such as setting up non-fatal accidents and then framing those he's targeting.
And yet Series 3-5 has those aspects to treat kids with intelligence and respect to learn about the real world. Sadly, CGI didn't have that, it would be nice if it did. At least we fans enjoys it mostly.
Incredible Trainz work, looked just like a model series production. Too bad this all came out after most of Trainz4Dayz sodor dark times. This would make a great prequel series for characters
To those in the comments discussing if "the scrap engine" in "Demons" is Dudley or not, Truck has confirmed that it is Dudley, it is just that "Demons" was written first so there was not a 3D Model of a Scrapped Class 02 for use at the time, Truck himself has a custom 00 Model of "the scrap engine" however, and it is an 02! It also has Dudley's number! he has pictures on Twitter, confirming that "the scrap engine" is Dudley!
There's something I've not seen anyone point out with regards to Dudley that I think is worth bringing up. Given the reason for his actions as well as everything that was happening on British Railways at this point in time, he can't be the only steam engine on British Railways with this mindset surely! Who's to say that there aren't other steam engines fleeing scrap who would be willing to go to the same lengths he did?!
Simple as how you can be nearly headless, it is him. That is the fate he got, and he simply awaits melting. If he was preserved he would never move again, because he would be on a plinth.
Ok so I have a theory! What if Dudley was already dead? Because in the first episode, Donald question why Dudley haven’t left when his term service was over. Where was his people to collect him? Or how he was able to move the coach without anybody noticing! Maybe with ghost psychic powers. We don’t know how he was able to come back to life but maybe some help like a outside force. A dark ritual? I kinda heard that a sequel was to come from the original creator about what happen to him later.
I think he’s just a rouge engine trying to survive scrap, and the ending implied he got a sticky end, but his ghost continues to try and find a way back to Sodor, but he never did or will.
If there’s one thing I can say about an engine like Dudley, Then it’d be the fact that engines like him, don’t deserve a railway to stay. For they have sealed their own fates.
sequel series, Dudley the vengeful spirit. His thirst for vengeance has turned him into a ghost and on a misty night he returns to sodor causing accidents. With only Bear able to see him. Kindly of like the haunted episode with duncan in the original series......... Thoughts? because this conclusion was fantastic
Dudley is a very well written character. It shows the darker places people will go when their survival is put at grave risk.
Perhaps I should make a video about him soon.
Dudley’s willingness to put passengers and workers in danger is the most disturbing aspect of the series
When engines behave dishonestly or disruptively like Dudley, gotta wonder how in on it their drivers are.
Well that ending wasn't ominous. Leaves the door open for a part 5, whether it be Dudley scheming or trying to escape scrap, or a much spookier continuation for him.
There hasnt been any new parts posted by the original author I think.
Well the Story Demons does shed light into what happened to Dudley but that's a story for another day
@@OptimusPrime2471 I mean, that would be fitting if years later Dudley ended up in that scrapyard to scare Diesel, his diesel engine counterpart.
If you go off of the Video Workshop, then Demons is the final chapter for our conniving friend.

Dudley, you just only proved why you DESERVE scrapping
