Thank you so much for this documentary. My grandmother, Elizabeth Gralton was Margaret's older sister and Jimmy's first cousin I believe. Iy's rare that one is blessed with such a detailed history of one's family and I thank you for it.
Great to see this video of our distant cousin Jimmy Gralton - I have been to Drumsna but never been to his birthplace and one day I'll visit. Many thanks. Sean McAree
Yes so nice to see Margaret and the images. Was that the original Alice's cottage? I also interviewed John Rooney while in Carrick as he had such strong feelings about Jimmy.
Showed it to my 95 year old grandfather who grew up in Effrinagh and remembers all the commotion well. He was at Drumsna mass that day Fr. Cosgrove told them all to rebel against Jimmy's people outside. Can remember it like it was yesterday. It's only ever myself he has told all the stories to. He's never speaks of it to others, for fear of crossing paths with Fr. Cosgrove again someday! Said this documentary was the best thing he has seen in years! Thanks for making it Michael.
Great Documentary, brings back lots of great story's/memory's of that time told to me by my grandfather whom was a great friend of Gralton. Well done again Michael.
When I read about Jimmy's Hall recently I realised it was based on the documentary you (Michael Carolan) made in 1995. My husband, Joe Kelly, was the narrator at that time. Sadly he passed away last August. I thought it was a remarkable documentary when I saw it originally - I have always been interested in those who were written out of Irish history over the last 100 years. I also sincerely hope you have gotten due credit for your original work. Anyway I have re-posted the video on Facebook and attributed it to you.

Thank you for documenting this story.
These are the stories of human kind.

Well done Michael, where was this first broadcast?
Ronan McGreevy I tried to get RTE to purchase it as an acquisition but no joy! It's never been broadcast.

The great Ken Loach film led me to this interesting documentary! Free thinkers who challenge the status quo are rarely appreciated in their day.
Excellent film, fine job. I'm grateful that this film was made, grateful for the opportunity to see it.
Wonderful. We need more programmes like this on the supression of freedom and utopian ideals by the catholic church and state.
A great documentary, fascinating details about what was happening on a national level at the time of the Gralton happenings. Congrats
Great to see this up, thanks.
Brilliant
Very nice video
Also look at 'The Ballyfermot co-op' a feature length radio doc broadcast I made for RTE Radio 1 in 2001

Eilish Kelly Thanks Eilish, it's all about getting as big a audience as possible.
