Pit Barrel Cooker - PBX - Pork Steaks and Chicken halves

  • Here's my 4th cook on the pit barrel cooker, this time I did some pork steaks cut from a pork butt and a couple of chicken halves.
    I'm still figuring out fire management on this beast. I've been having some issues keeping it hot, that was not the case this time. It got real hot this time!
    Everything turned out amazing. I basted the meats in a butter and BBQ sauce for about the last 1/2 hour and it came out amazing. Those pork steaks were crazy tender, and crazy flavorful.
    This was the first time I've cooked them, and I will most certainly be doing them again.
    Pit barrel does it again! I don't really understand it, it's just a barrel. But the food comes out amazing.

    Don't find many folks posting videos doing multiple meats at the same time, which is what I'm getting more curious about. Thanks for sharing.

    I LOVE pork steaks on my drum. I actually was going to be making some this week!

      Totally agree. I wanted to see if they came out equally as well using indirect heat.
      Pretty close actually. But the barrel is way faster.
